Baxtaw- Must of been extremely tired as he woke as the wild dogs were leaving. What happened. Did those wolves attack? I must of been really tired. I enjoy the soft ground better than a feather bed.

Valorei frowns a bit, "Was it something I said? They left awfully fast..." He puts his sword away, his face contorting in a thoughtful expression as he begins thinking about something.

May 1, 1 VC - 11:20am
The part wakes the next morning after fitful sleep and continues to wend its way north, trying to keep out of the direct line of the mighty winds as much as possible. In the morning, it is slow going, but over the course of the early afternoon the winds gradually slacken and, though they remain powerful, they are not so fierce that they pose a danger to anyone. The group camps just within sight of the edge of the forest that night and then continues onward the next morning, surprised by how much warmer the air feels without a biting gale.
Once in the undergrowth, Lug seeks out traces of his previous path, and eventually reckons that their compensation for the wind drove them a mile or so west of a straight-north orientation. An hour or so is enough to recover the lost ground and identify the remains of the old path that would lead the party toward the witch's tree if they so desired. They continue north, however, and just around nightfall they find themselves at the half-buried boulder by which the previous party had camped a fortnight ago, prior to its split. Despite the ill history associated with the place, it is the best option, and the party settles down for a night of undisturbed rest, waking in the morning to the first rays of powerful sunshine piercing through the canopy to dapple them in a honey-colored lace made of real spring.

Lug wakes up and stretches, nearly punching a tree branch in the process. "What a great day for orc-killin'!" he says. "But first, let's go talk to my friend Xavro to see if he has any help for us." When the group has packed up and is ready to travel, Lug leads the way to the centaur's glade.

Valorei begins walking with Lug, "Xavro you say? He is the centaur you encountered yes? I would very much like to meet him! Just think, the wondrous and mystical places that he has seen, the stories that are only but myths to others... I am very much excited!"

Nihilius continues soberly with the group, his curmudgeonly wolfhound at his side, saying little but grimacing through the various discomforts of forced march. Around the campfire that night, things a little more pleasant than previously, he talks a bit about how the stars were different long ago and the strangeness he feels, waking now.

Marge snorts a little at the reverence shown the centaur. "Half man, half horse. I'll bet he shits just like the rest of us. Only a little more regally, right? Haha!" She cackles a couple of times, then calms down. "Still, it would be nice to meet one. I'm sure he's got plenty to say."

Varas wakes up, groggy. He half-hears Lug's words, and in his sleepy haze wonders aloud. "Centaurs? How did they come to exist?" He can only think of one way, and his face turns to one of disgust. "Nah…couldn't be."
He's not too anxious to meet strangers, but will go visit the centaurs if everyone else is going.

May 1, 1 VC - 4:10pm
The party makes its way roughly north-northwest toward Lug's best memory of the party's previous trail that led to the centaur's grove. The forest here feels quiet and calm, even with snatches of occasional unfamiliar bird-song that slowly puts the group at its ease, despite Lug's warnings about large bands of hostile orcs nearby.
Finally, nearing late afternoon, Lug recognizes the ridge and fallen tree from before that marked his first sighting of the jarban grove--sure enough, just over the rise the small grove of trees surrounding an old boxy and ruined tower can be seen. Wild flowers grow in the deep brown earth surrounding the bases of the massive trees, and a large brown stag can be seen through gaps between the trunks wandering in the depths of the locale.
The place seems quiet enough, but there is no immediate sign of centaurs.

Ret-conning a little here, shoulda had this posted before we moved on...
After waking up, Marge stretches and calls Dog to her side. "Gonna stretch our legs, get ourselves right with the world. Back in a bit. If'n you hear horrible, gurgling screams don't bother chasin' us down. Right, mutt?" Dog barks sharply, loping alongside her.
Marge will wander around the periphery of the camp, and commune with her deity. She asks forgiveness for the sheer idiocy of her present quest, leniency towards her equally stupid partners, and asks to be granted Cure Light Wounds.
