"I don't know that I like telling a falsehood to a wizard." Flynn replies, following along. "But it isn't exactly a lie now, is it. Perhaps we should seek out Finrin to confirm our story before...others do. "

Elethil mutters something in Evlish. He looks around the room again, wondering if he is alone.

Going through the open doorway before them, Deceidon, Whitsell and Flynn cautiously exits the circular room. The corridor that they find themselves in is dark and ominous, the very cobblestone walls that they traversed when first being shown to Fenrin. Only a few candles light the walls around them, casting an erie pale blue flame upon each wick.

Their is a wall directly behind you and to your left as the entrance to the circular room is on your right. The corridor extends down a straight path and ends at an intersection lit by a lone candle. When you approach the intersection, you find that it breaks off into two directions, left and right. Darkness is shown on both sides, the spacing of the candles lending to the overall dark setting. Their is silence in the air, save the clanking of Whitsell's plate mail and the breathing of the group.

Rand finds such an individual after a quick search through his old stomping grounds. The individual recognizes Rand as a 'brother' and offers a quick warning. "I would welcome you to our family, but these are dire times and our time is limited. Our home is no longer safe and the whole city is in jeapordy!" (See PM for clarification/reminder on this subject) The man speaks of the recent events that took place, the ones that Rand was clued in on during the procession outside. He goes on to explaining how the killer was found and brought forth for public execution, a leader amongst assassins or so Fenrin claimed. Normally this would be a bit of good news, some proper vengeance or justice or what have you, but the man quickly explains why this isn't so.

"He (the person from the PM) was our last bastion of hope for peace and understanding. Without him, the brotherhood will be no more and our teachings will fail to reach more. Our leader has dissappeared for months now and without his guidance, many have left in hopes of saving themselves from this chaos that is about to begin. Yes, as much as I hate to think it, the whole thing could have been preplanned, fated even. I'm no oracle, but the patterns are there. The sudden increase in population within a small concentrated area, the elimination of key leaders and dissapearances of others, and Fenrin's quick command of the situation, it all leads to something quite damning. Most of our brothers have caught on to this and started leaving the city ahead of time, even the scummy thieves are showing more sense than the other merchants and nobles. I can't blame them for wanting to monopolize on this chaos."

Certainly a lot to take from some random stranger Rand has just met. The stranger appears to be a middle-aged shopkeeper of average appearance with stringy hair and an unshaved face. What makes Rand believe in his words though is the symbol that he produces to Rand, a matching one that he is currently holding. It is the symbol of the brotherhood he just joined.

As Elithil stands next to the note and and mutters something in Elvish, an arrow suddenly whizzes by in the darkness and hits the note nearby with a solid thud. He is not alone. Looking down the tunnel, he spots the slightest bit of movment with his infravision.

No. Your first time in these castle corridors were confusing. You had to be escorted by two guards just to reach the circular room where you met Fenrin. The corridors seem to twist and turn, like a maze that kept on changing on itself. You can't help but wonder if that what was actually going on, your encounters with magic now having proven it to be plausible...

Is there a wall by the entrance to this room where Elethil could stand and not be in the line of fire from the tunnel?

"One way is as good as the next..." says Flynn. "Unless Deceidon knows of a long winded incantation that'll point the way?"

You can quickly back track and go around the corner you came from. The surrounding area is also full of piles of debris that was mentioned earlier (broken crates/barrels). The borded up hole next to you could be an easy obstacle to remove if you use Elithil's superior strength, but this will leave you open for another hit if you decide to take that route.

Either way, moving out of a light source, like the one you are in right now, will lower the chances of a missle hitting you, the opponent not being able to aim a clear shot.

Would it be possible to get a tactical map of the room Elethil is in? Or is Elethil in a "room?"

Sounds good to me. Any direction is probably better than standing here awaiting trouble. Whitsell whispers, ready for an ambush at any moment.

The E refers to your position, and the exclamation point is the movement in the darkness. You came from the the southern section and made a left into the section you are in now. You are in a sewer tunnel, just as a reminder.

-----

Whitsell leads the group down the eastern path in the dimly lit intersection. Distant sounds can be heard echoing throughout the halls, faint and muffled, but it breaks the silence nevertheless. Whitsell finds himself at another intersection like the last one, left or right? As you strain to hear the direction the sounds come from, you cannot seem to pinpoint where. You turn around and.... find that the intersection you left changes into a straight corridor.

Whitsell asks his co-escapees...
We could either employ a right only march, or alternate equally. Or perhaps, we should turn around now that the path has changed, and see where it now leads back to?

I haven't gotten any new PM yet? Or was the ones I am supposed to reference from a previous conversation?

previous conversation. The information within it was very sensitive.

With a dagger Deceidon scratches a mark in the wall at the right corner they just turned, and will do so at every right turn.

"Yes let's go back, and from there make right turns."

Then Deceidon wonders if they are in some magic maze, or befuddling spell, or illusion. He gives voice to such thoughts. "Let us disbelieve these halls, lest it be illusion."

Save [1d20] = 1

If it doesn't work, Deceidon takes out the orb he had taken from the room to see if it is showing any signs of activity. If not, he smashes it.

Whitsell nods his approval of the decision.
