Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Round One Summary:
Thisby isn't quite her usual agile self thanks to the shoulder injury she's still nursing, and the lead wolf catches sight of her just before the sling stone flies, causing it to go slightly wide as the wolf jukes to the side, while Anwyn's stone is mis-aimed and flies over the beasts' heads.
The two wolves rush to cover the remaining ground between them and Anwyn, and end the round approximately 20 feet short.
Wolf 1: 11 HP
Wolf 2: 12 HP
Actions and Initiative!

Anwyn takes one last shot with her sling...
Initiative:[1d6] = 1
Sling Attack:[1d20] = 15; Damage:[1d4] = 3
...then switches to her dagger

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Thisby grunts, her shoulder burning in pain as she whirls her sling overhead...
Thisby tries to target the same wolf she'd attacked before...
Initiative:[1d6] = 5
Sling attack: [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6
Damage:[1d4] = 4

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Note: If the expedition leader rolls initiative during action declaration, I'll always take that roll--otherwise, I'll take the first initiative roll by a non-leader PC.
Round 2 Summary:
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 2
The wolves are upon Anwyn before she can release her sling stone.
Wolf 1 [1d20] = 12, damage [1d6] = 1
Wolf 2 [1d20] = 20, damage [1d6] = 4
Oh dear...
The lead wolf knocks Anwyn to the ground, its teeth tearing at one sleeve of her robe beneath the heavy cloak but dealing little damage. Unfortunately, it is able to pin her in place while the second wolf gets atop her, dealing grievous injuries with its teeth to her as she lies helpless on the ground. (max damage dealt for critical hit, so 7 total between the two wolves, leaving Anwyn in critical condition and in need of help this combat round or she risks death).
Thisby's sling stone flies wide from the first wolf in her pain and fear as she realizes she is injured and, for now, alone against a pair of hungry and aggressive wolves.
The uncaring rain continues to fall over the moor.
Action and initiative!

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Thisby runs towards Anwyn, shouting.
Can Thisby make it to Anwyn's location this round? If so, she'll stab a wolf and try to unpin Anwyn, else she'll try another ranged attack while still moving a bit closer.

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
The only way she can stabilize Anwyn this round is by rushing in and doing so regardless of what the wolves are up to. If she runs in and tries to stab a wolf to get it off Anwyn, it will be up to her to make a Save vs. Death to survive on her own.

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
With a steely look in her eyes, Thisby runs in to stabilize Anwyn...

Bad ass. That's some Chutzpah credit even if this goes very badly
Let's see what happens...

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Round 3 Summary:
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 2
Thisby's higher dexterity allows her to rush in before the wolves have a chance to respond, rolling Anwyn out from under their tearing claws and teeth and position herself between them and her (Anwyn is stabilized--you have one hour to get her to someplace warm and relatively sheltered). They respond with a redoubled attack, hoping to eliminate this new threat and get back to enjoying their meal.
Wolf 1 [1d20] = 6, damage [1d6] = 4
Wolf 2 [1d20] = 2, damage [1d6] = 3
Thisby ducks and weaves, using her cloak to confound her attacker's maws and her superior agility to outmaneuver them, at least for now.
Action and initiative!

Re: Expedition - Anwyn/Ruins - 13 March, 1 VC
Thisby growls at the beasts, and hopes to wound the beasts enough so they'll change their mind and decide to find less fighty food elsewhere...
Slashing at the nearest wolf
Initiative:[1d6] = 4
Dagger attack: [1d20] = 14
Damage:[1d4] = 2

Round Four Summary:
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 3
Thisby slashes out with her dagger at the already-injured wolf, dealing it a slash across the front flank--but not hard enough to make the wolf re-think its intentions.
Wolf 1 [1d20] = 5, damage [1d6] = 5
Wolf 2 [1d20] = 5, damage [1d6] = 5
Wow, what a set of rolls...
Somehow, the young woman's adrenaline and fierce defensiveness of her new-found friend allow her to keep just out of reach of the snapping jaws of the wolves.
Wolf 1: 9 HP
Wolf 2: 12 HP

"Come ON, dog!" Thisby taunts, stabbing vigorously again at the wolf she'd hurt. "You won't find me that tasty!"

Round Five Summary:
Aaaand Thisby's incredible luck continues to hold, at least for now...
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 2
Thisby lashes out at the injured wolf, striking it forcefully with the edge of her dagger in the face. The creature hesitates for a moment...
Wolf Morale: 8 [2d6] = 5
But then decides that its tasty meal is too close to secure for it to give up just yet.
Wolf 1 [1d20] = 9, damage [1d6] = 4
Wolf 2 [1d20] = 20, damage [1d6] = 4
In the end, it is its uninjured companion who circles around Thisby from her unprotected flank and makes a well-timed leap as she darts in with her blade, tackling her to the ground and tearing out her throat with its powerful jaws.
Thus this adventure ends in tragedy for our two green young adventurers.
