Is one of those two the one that Boggs hamstrung? If so, he'll give chase.

Oelle stiffens, freaked out by both the recent proximity to snarling gnoll teeth and its sudden replacement by a blood geyser.

Shaking, he crawls to where his supply bag is, and grabs a bottle of rectified spirits and begins wiping down his mask. When he's pulled himself together enough, he takes a look around to see who else needs medical attention. Lastly, he will set about cleaning and binding his own wounds.

This is purely mundane first aid, as Oelle does not have any healing spells prepared. Would that be Aid?

The watchful, silent forest returns to its usual early afternoon chorus of birds and insects. With most of the evidence of battle hidden by lush undergrowth, everything appears suddenly quite peaceful, apart from the blood pumping loudly in your ears and the soft whimpering of the hamstrung gnoll.

The badly wounded Alpha and one of his pack (corrected from two, sorry, lost count) disappeared in two different directions. Three gnoll corpses (throat cut, backstabbed and decapitated) lie on the forest floor, giving up the last trickles of blood, while one lies amongst them tightly clutching his spear, whimpering to himself, unable to stand.

None of you came through unscathed, with Oelle and Dunwick the worst for wear, Boggs a bit better off, and Bedwyr with only a scratch across the shoulder.

Oelle is administering first aid. You notice Neff leaning non-chalantly against a tree, arms crossed. What do the rest of you do?

I've got Oelle 11 HP, Dunwick 11, Bedwyr 16 and Boggs 17, but please correct me if that doesn't fit your notes.

For Oelle: the Aid move is only applicable when you try to help someone with something they're doing. There isn't really a First Aid move as such, it's abstracted into the Make Camp move. From what you're doing now (if you all don't Make Camp) we'll assume bleeding is stopped and possible infection averted.

Oelle to Neff: "Make yourself useful and help me roll these bodies over."

Oelle inspects the dead gnolls, looking for clues that will help them figure out where they might have taken Onde.

Is anything here useful to me?

Oelle to Neff, as he inspects the bodies. "If the gnolls had killed us, wouldn't that have interfered with your payday?"

Neff raises an eyebrow, but comes over and helps.

When you inspect the corpses closely...
...nothing jumps out as "useful" exactly, but one thing, which all three gnolls (and the hamstrung one too) have is an uncomfortably short chain of thick silver links around their necks. Each is closed with a cruel looking hook through the first link, and thorn-like protrusions on the inside. And although you can't tell exactly what it's for, they're all clearly enchanted with something that makes you want to wash your hands.
When Neff is asked, he shrugs and says, "didn't hire me for the fighting as I remember." He thinks a minute and shrugs again thoughtfully, "besides, who knows who would've dropped what?"

Upon seeing Dunwick's late and rather pathetic addition to the fight, Bedwyr just shakes his head in disgust, then joins the others by the gnolls still left...the living as well as the dead.

Leaving Oelle to glean what he can from the bodies, Bedwyr goes over to the wounded gnoll. Looming over him, he presses the tip of his sword into the hollow of the creature's throat. "Well, hello there my fine canine friend. Would you like to frolic in the woods again someday? If you'd rather do that than end up in with the birds picking your bones, like your mates over there, then tell us everything you know about the woman you snatched."

Perhaps now is a good time for Parley?
Parley via intimidation [2d6] = 9

EDIT:
We're short a gnoll, by my count...six small ones jumped us, plus the alpha.
Bedwyr killed one; 3 went to Oelle, 2 to Dunwick
Boggs backstabbed one on Oelle
Boggs hamstrings one
Boggs then runs another through, while the hamstrung gnoll jabs him
Bedwyr beheads 1 on Oelle

I make it 2 dead for Boggs, 2 for Bedwyr, 1 crippled, 1 fled. Seem right?

The gnoll looks up at Bedwyr and nods, a mix of hatred and fear on his features, "this one tell. This one know." He whimpers and licks his lips, "prove this one lives. Safe."

Yup, you're right about the count. So it was the Alpha and remaining two who ran off in three different directions.

Boggs scowls at the surviving gnoll. He was close to ending its life when Bedwyr showed up to question it. He sees the wisdom of gaining more information in this case, and starts cleaning the gore off his weapons.

After recovering his throwing knife, he addresses Neff. "Alright tracker. You don't want to fight, then make yourself useful and figure out where they took Onde. There must have been more than these seven."

Rather sheepishly, Dunwick makes his way down from the tree. Here doctor, I can't do much in a fight, but maybe I can at least soothe your injuries.. Drawing his lute again, he takes up a more somber tune that might calm the doctor's frayed nerves and help bind his wounds.

That's Arcane Art again, at Oelle, with the intended effect of healing 1d8 damage...

[2d6+2] = 6+2 = 8

[1d8] = 2

So that's 2 HP back to Oelle, but I draw attention to myself or the effect also reverberates to other targets... GM's choice!

Oelle looks quite surprised as the lute music actually helps him heal! "Astounding! A musical ameliorative! I really must make a record of your technique, Dunwick!"

"But first things first." Turning to Boogs, Oelle says, "May I borrow your knife?"

Assuming Boggs is willing to share, Oelle uses the knife to lift up the silver chain on one of the dead gnolls, both to examine it, and any wounds it may have left in the flesh of the gnoll. If nothing seems unusual, he will attempt to remove the necklace entirely.

Bedwyr utters a short bark of laughter. "Wrong answer, my friend. Prove you'll be safe? What do you want, a sworn affidavit? I can definitely prove that you'll be less safe if you don't answer...I can start chopping off your feet, that ought to be convincing."

OK, I read how Parley works...but I'm damned if I can think of a decent show of good faith I could give this mook. Maybe the rest of my party has some good ideas? About the best I'm thinking would be if Oelle offered to tend to his wound, maybe?

Boggs
Neff looks at you with a flat expression, "no one said a thing about not wanting to fight. You're just not paying enough for it. If you want me risking my life for a woman I don't know, it'll cost you more than twelve coin a day, that's for certain. But find her I can." Neff wanders off, checking signs and tracks in the brush.

Oelle
Removing a chain is not difficult, you just pull it tight enough to disengage the hook from the first link, and the chain drops off. Once you do, a pattern of puncture wounds is clearly visible all the way around the gnoll's neck.

Bedwyr
The gnoll bares his teeth at you, "this one not safe, this one not tell." He looks around, then points at Oelle, "that one good. That one true. That one promise, this one tell."

As Dunwick begins playing, the gnoll visibly relaxes.

Boggs spins the dagger in his hand a few times, judging what the doctor is up to before handing it over for his usage.

While Neff searches through the brush, Boggs watches over Oelle's shoulder, clearly misunderstanding his intent. "Those necklaces might be worth something..."

With that roll, you can choose one of these questions to ask:

– What happened here recently?
– What is about to happen?
– What should I be on the lookout for?
– What here is useful or valuable to me?
– Who’s really in control here?
– What here is not what it appears to be?

They're all worded more for situations, but you can reword for your specific intent.

Oelle examines the necklace superficially, passing it on to Boogs. He examines the wounds more thoroughly, so much so that he is a little startled when the wounded gnoll mentions him. "OH! I'm sorry, you need attention, of course."

Oelle does not use medical treatment as leverage for parlay, but just dives in and starts tending to the creatures wounds. "It's a hard cut, but clean. I don't know that this leg will do you much good, but it shouldn't go gangrenous on you.

"This chain you and your companions wear. Is it a sign of bondage? To whom? Hang on... this is going to sting for a moment. Well, more than a moment. And more than a sting. I'm sewing a severed tendon together. There is the slightest chance that, if it has a proper chance to heal, you might be able to walk again. That means we'll have to carry you. Good thing we're headed in the same direction, hmm?

"Okay, now this will sting. There we go. And... closing the wound. It will itch, and you'll want to scratch it. Don't. Don't rub mud on it, if it starts to feel hot. Don't get it wet until... ah... two days after the new moon."

If all of this goes well, Oelle will ask to remove the gnoll's necklace and treat the barb wounds as well.

Boggs examines the chain...
What is not what it appears to be?
It is immediately obvious to you that the metal is not silver, or if it is silver then it's been changed somehow. The thick links are made of a metal that is harder than silver, somehow colder too, and it has a slight reddish tint. You're pretty familiar with valuable metals, but you can't identify this one for certain, which might mean it's extremely rare and valuable, or completely worthless.
Oelle begins treating the leg, ignoring Bedwyr and his sword at the gnoll's neck...
You immediately notice that the wound isn't nearly as bad as it should be. For one thing, the hamstring is intact. The gnoll would certainly be able to walk if he was allowed to stand.
Bedwyr, your attempt to get information from the gnoll seems to have been derailed slightly.

What does everyone do?

Bedwyr had wandered away when Oelle began to treat the gnoll...going over to the gnoll who's head he had removed, he peels the silver chain off the stump of its neck, jingling it gently.

But when he hears Oelle speaking to the gnoll--particularly the words "we'll have to carry you"--he spins around, his jaw dropping.

"Are you insane? Who said anything about bringing this fleabag with us? Patch him up, get him to tell us what we want to know, and let's be off. I'm not a nursemaid to dangerous animals."

Forgot one thing...

When Oelle reaches for the living gnoll's chain, he snarls loudly and bears his teeth, murder in his eyes.

Do you persist Oelle?

Oelle does not insist on touching the chain.
Even though the wound is not as bad as it should be, he keeps up the patter above, hoping that the gnoll doesn't realize that it isn't crippled. He's a healer, but that doesn't mean he's always scrupulous.
Oelle to Bedwyr: "Yes, we'll carry him, as he mends." To the gnoll: "We'll carry you back to your people. Close enough that you can rejoin them. That's where we'll find our friend, isn't it?

"The chain you wear, it's very important to you?"
