Re: General OOC thread
Oh, and if you guys want to make your attack rolls in the OOC thread as well. You can just edit the posts you described the actions in.

Re: General OOC thread
Okay. Cool. I'll stick with my action as written then. Thanks for clarifying.
Re: General OOC thread
Cool, I will upload my thief stats when I get home. So how do you want us to handle rolling? Do you want it in the post itself, somewhere else?
Also, at the end of our turn do you want us to roll initiative? And along those lines initiative each round or rust once per combat?

Re: General OOC thread
After the surprise round I'll roll init for everyone, and we'll just stick with it through the entire combat. That should save a pretty big chunk of time.
Re: General OOC thread
oops. missed the roll in the OOC thread. I'll correct that next time.
Languages. Do we have the Language Points from the House rules for being first level? Also my charctes native language is Trade Speak, so it is more developed in Vuul?

Re: General OOC thread
If Mukuli grabs Ogre's weapon than attacks nearest enemy....[1d20] = 5 (to hit) If need be he will burn some luck for a hit ...using the thief luck ability.
So we posting rolls here? Let me know if able to get Ogre's weapon. Is so than he attacks...
All info in game thread on his actions.
I would rather just post rolls in game thread....

Re: General OOC thread
I didn't roll for my actions. I'll roll and edit them into my post in the IC thread.
Re: General OOC thread
moved attack rolls from part 1 thread.
to hit Ogre: [1d20-1] = 15-1 = 14
in case this hits
dagger damage: [1d4-1] = 2-1 = 1

Re: General OOC thread
My die roll (blecch): [1d20] = 4 + [1d3] = 1 + 1 (Luck) + 2 (STR) = 8
Re: General OOC thread
Die Rolls:
[1d20] = 14
EDIT: Updated Thief Skills Backstab is plus one so a total of 15 to hit. That should do it. If not let me know and I will burn some luck.
Damage
[1d4] = 4
Critical:
[1d10+3] = 4+3 = 7
Strike to chest grazes vital organ. Inflict +3d4 damage with this strike.
Critical Damage:
[3d4] = 8
[1d20] = 14

To Hit: [1d20+1] = 2+1 = 3
Damage (Rock): [1d4] = 2
(I know that won't hit but I put a damage roll in there anyways just because)

Re: General OOC thread
Yeah, on second thought rolls posted in the IC thread would probably keep things simpler. :p
Don't worry about it for this round, but maybe going forward that would be a good idea.

Re: General OOC thread
cool. So do you hide the rolls like that in the post?

Re: General OOC thread
Yeah, just wrap them in spoiler tags. Seems like the most straight forward solution.

Who is the gambler? I seen that name/title come up more than once during the shore battle.

The Gambler is another slave. He's a Keshite who was sold into slavery over gambling debts. His primary purpose is the fact that he speaks multiple languages so he can serve as a translator for you.MrHemlocks wrote:Who is the gambler? He's pretty well combat ineffective though.

Re: General OOC thread
This came up in a PM but I figured I'd answer it here since it kinda concerns everyone. The Vullese language is a little different from conventional 'tradespeak', but it's pretty darn close so yes, if you are Vullese and speak Elasme then 'tradespeak' is basically your native tounge.Rostranor wrote:hey man quick question for you. the Vullese speak the tradespeak as a native language so i figure for them it is pretty developed, but do we have the 5 language points from being first level and do we start with anything other than our native tongue?
As for the language points, yes, you all do get 5 language points to spend as you wish.

Re Exchange rates:
The rates for coins are 10:1, same as in D&D with Iron Pieces being the equivalent of GP.
As for the other items, it's a lot tougher. He has them mostly for barter, but their value is dependent on how much someone wants them. The Bronze Ooruk might be worth a lot to someone who collects figurines, but might just be a dust collector to someone else.
If you were to try to grade them by value it's probably something like this:
The Credit Note is worth 1000 iron pieces plus interest (assuming it's still good, and you can get it to someone who can exchange it for you)
Backgammon Board is worth maybe 50 iron pieces to the right person.
The Mug, Playing Cards, and Figurine are probably worth about 25 IP each
The bracelet is maybe worth 5.
The clay dice are worth next to nothing.

Re: General OOC thread
Sounds good. ari-nasir has boththe trader and the barter skills so we should be able to get a decent return. Also his past occupation as a caravan guard may mean he has some contacts or knows a guy who knows a guy type of thing too.

Re: General OOC thread
So, where too guys? Turning around and going back to Karthazar? Going on to Y'Mataar? I might suggest against turning into either the Karthis mountains, or Ahkharn Desert. Either of those would likely make for a short campaign. If you can get that credit note to Neter-Aaru you might be able to get 1000 Iron Pieces for your trouble.
