"Sit. Eat....what? It's dried boar." Grimnail explains if Gwilt is hesitant about meat an orc might offer.
Gwillt takes the proffered meat without a word, sniffs it cautiously, then tears off a small piece with his teeth. Confirming it is, in fact, boar meat, he smiles and nods at the young barbarian.

"Thank you," he finally says, then hungrily takes another bite and adds, "Irt's guud," speaking with a now full mouth.

While chewing the flavorful meat, he stares at his small companion, a crease of worry on his brow. After a few moments, he looks to Kaltar and Epsilon and asks, "How is he? Will he make it?"

"Aye with a bit of care and attention and a touch of the good Lord's benificience he should be fine"
Kaltar squints at the sun:
"Funny it seems like much later than it is. I think I have aged a few weeks after that last battle - what were those things anyway? I have heard tell of lizards that walk like men - this must have been these beasts surely? They certainly smelled of the swamp."

I think spellwise its going to be heal, heal and more healing!

GRIM finishes chewing a mouth full of jerky and addresses Kaltar.
"I be well learned of things in da wilds but ne'er be seeing...nor smellin, such as dem scaled Torukg...er...demons be yer calling of dem."

He looks to the others. "But der be udders here seen more winters den Grim."

Shannigan's dream:
The garden salad was bittersweet. Stolen spoils are never what they offer in enticement. The pain felt physically also transfers to his dream-state. Visions depicting his older brother beating him for stealing the salad, would normally cause the halfling to show muscle movement, much like a nightmare would stir, but the ability to move his appendages is beyond him. The dream flashes to being bound, and carried, back to the appropriate authorities.
As the party is camped, Shannigans, once again stationary, dreams of his jail cell, thankful that the beatings have stopped.

our halfling friend will survive. A bit of divine healing magic should restore him.

Troglodytes of the common taxonomy Sub-Amimilia Chordata Reptilia from the order Squama. They actually do not tend to live in swamps. They are a subteranean race that tend to dwell in underground caverns. They are known for their loathing of surface dwelling races and the stench excerded through oil producing glands.

Grimnai rolls the dried meat in the bladder and puts it back in his pack.
"Grim hunting down south yonder wood." he says pulling a palm sized smooth stone out of the pack.
"Hunting no good. Just one small hog. Skinny."
Grimnail crosses his legs and places a hand ax in his lap.
"I clean da pig. Set a fire ta cook and dry da meat..."
He starts running the stone across the ax blade, removing niks in the metal.
"Da firelight catches sumptin shiney in da woods. I look. It's da buckle of a dead mans belt. Lookin like him mauled by some beasty. Maybe bear. Been der long time. All dried up. He don't be needing coin purse no mo.
Grim looks up. "Hims long dead. Grim not thief. Grim not kill'em.
He settles back to sharpening.
"I figures been long time since I had some wine. Clean bandages. Maybe a good bow. Grim cleans up in dis stream and decidin ta try town fer goods. Maybe a bed."
He starts sharpening his other ax.
"No bandages. No bed. No bow. Hells. No wine cept fer Epsilon kindness.

Well... Shanny is a multiclass thief/MU, so he should probably get the spellbook and at least a shot at the writing implements, though I think he might have those already. The spellbook would do him the most good, though, since clerics don't need them.

Alordan's character sheet has no inventory information on it. It was never transferred into the US Character Sheet application, I suppose. All it lists is leather armour, a long sword, and a short bow. I know he has 20 arrows at least, per Gwillt gave them to him before the fighting started.

The only thing Gwillt would like from Garth's possessions is the scimitar. It would be useful to have a backup, just in case he breaks his.

We need to procure a pack animal to carry extra supplies at some point...

Can't he copy the spells he doesn't have into his existing book witout them disapearing? that is how I thought it worked, I could be wrong.

The spellbook would do him the most good, though, since clerics don't need them.

I guess I'm not following you with the bit about clerics needing spell books... Per dmw71's guidelines on the Cleric class...

Acquiring Spells
1E PHB, page 40:
Clerical spells, including the druidic, are bestowed by the gods, so that the cleric need but pray for a few hours and the desired verbal and somatic spell components will be placed properly in his or her mind.
Unless the behavior of a Cleric significantly goes against their alignment or the beliefs of their deity, a Cleric can expect to receive the spells they pray for on a daily basis.

In any case, copying spells from one book to another isn't something you can just scribble out sitting around a camp fire. It takes a controlled (interruption-free) environment and many hours of time, similarly to writing out a spell scroll. At least that's the way I've always made it work. It shouldn't be something easily done... In fact, he probably shouldn't even be able to read the book until he casts a Read Magic spell on it.

Shannigan's dream: part 3
The cell is comforting in it's silence.
Thankful that the beatings have stopped, with jail cell quiet, the dream continues, as Shannigans still stirs not.
Anyone checking may see some rapid eye movement, assuring the group that he should be on his feet soon enough.
As the party begins inventory of the fallen, the hobbit's senses again falsely digest the sounds as those of imagined adventures.
The jail's guard begins shuffling about at his desk, trying to get a glimpse out a window.
With the sounds of young men running about outside, laughing, fighting and cheering, the guard yells out
,
"You boys quit playing that dang game in my field. Wait till the ice comes back, you fools."
As the party mentions the name of the deceased, Garth, Shannigans again twists the dream to one of how the two met.
(This event can be found somewhere in dmw's thread for Nuke and I entering the game)
This time however, in dream state, Shannigans imagines it much differently. The giant butterfly is about to carry Garth away, until the halfling casts Magic Missile at the beast. Shannigans silently giggles inside, as Garth seems surprised that the hobbit can cast it with such accuracy.

Sorry for the slow reply, got slammed at work the last 2 days.

Strom helped with the last rites for the two fallen party members. He kneels before the bodies and offers a prayer
Dear Lord we beseech you to take the souls of our departed comrades into your keeping. They stood against evil and gave their lives willingly in the cause of good. Also Lord, watch over the souls of the villagers who fell, unable to protect themselves. Grant us the strength to carry on and to return to O'Hare and exact vengeance for the fallen in your blessed name.

Prayer finished, Strom first inspects his weapons, armor and gear in case the fighting begins anew. His heart is heavy with the losses of his party members and the villagers.

He quietly stands by Kaltar and says I thought that life outside the training ground would be filled with victory and glory in Gods name. It was not like that at all. Yesterdays victory did not prepare me for todays defeat.

Ewell speaks , friends. Just remember they died an honorable death. No one could ask for more. Let us honor them by proving it wasn't in vain.
the only thing Ewell would want is the longsword to give him a breakage replacement. I think he has extra capacity if others need him to carry something else. I will confirm.

Gwillt nods, staring at the ground in front of his feet, "Well said, Strom. We are lucky to have so many of us left, truth be told. I was this close," he holds up his right hand, thumb and first finger almost touching, "to joining them in the stars, myself. Why do the gods take one and not another?" He shrugs, "Maybe it wasn't my time..."

Then, looking Strom straight in the eyes, he says, "But we will serve out retribution, for our friends... for the villagers. Just as soon as we're strong enough."

He pulls his whetstone out of his pack and returns the edge to his scimitar.
