Mick will start working his connections at Brulantfort, St Oyland, and X-2 to see if they can offload some Machine Tools (that have a face value 50% margin….great deal for Omni! He’ll also start searching online trade boards and cold calling companies and NI communities’ economic development offices around the planet looking for potential customers.

He thinks to himself, “Perhaps we should keep one lot for Omni purposes back at camp.” And he’ll ask the group their thoughts on that.

As he contacts companies in Poor communities and Poor communities offices, he’ll explore the possibility of a data cube development deal. His entering thought is to not sell the company he’s, but to just provide the communities with cubes in exchange for the first 12 months worth of accumulated monthly GDP increases.

Y2156.12.12:1030 Purvaux (Depart Purvaux)
Offsetting the earlier gains from sales in Purveax, the Company account is lightened by Cr 813,500 as the group loads up on goods to sell and heads out.

One tonne of Data Cubes and 1.5 tonnes of Machine Tools are loaded on the MEDIUM TRANSPORT heading towards the arctic (St Oyland or X-2?) with an 18 hour travel time. Zoe Becker is coming along to oversee the installation of the Triple I AI Interface wherever you choose to install it.

[ As Zoe and Mick discuss possibilities of the Triple I system, each “Machine AI Construct” is a single use entity that is consumed in the process. Once installed, it can continue to function indefinitely, but it cannot be removed and relocated. Should the mainframe housing the AI ever be forced to completely shut down, like a catastrophic damage to the system, the existing Triple I installed would be lost and a new AI would have to be created, installed, and learn from scratch. Past gains would not be lost, but future gains would need to wait for the system to relearn what was lost. … Each installation creates a unique machine AI for that time, location and circumstance.] “That’s what the Central Government hated about my solution. They could not mass produce identical units with predictable results.” said Zoe.

Needless to say, Zoe was surprised to discover a group of reclusive aliens travelling on your Medium Transport, however xenophobia was not an issue for the young scientist and she was happy to discuss terraforming theory with the Akoa … hoping to gain insights that might be incorporated into her Economic Terraforming Models.

Five tonnes of Basic Electronics were loaded on the STOL-120 Transport heading to (where?).
[Note: it is impractical to arrange the best sales remotely … or someone else would have and you would all just be truckers … so SPECULATION requires “boots on the ground”. However, that does not prevent hopping from potential town to town like following a Jump Main.]
Note the STOL-120 is faster than the Medium Transport (but more expensive to fuel), so you could head to the Arctic, sell the cargo at X-2 and wait for the Medium Transport to collect you (the STOL-120 can fly home without you).

Part of the goal is to start leaning into the Y2156.12.15 Black Market Adventure.

Buy 1 tonnes of Data-cubes (Triple-I Prototype AI) [Cr 50k FMV] = - Cr 40,000 ; sale [+3 Poor]
Buy 1.5 tonnes of Machine Tools [MCr 1.125 FMV] = - Cr 731,000 ; sale [+3 NI]
Buy 5 tonnes of Basic Electronics [Cr 50,000 FMV] = - Cr 42,500; sale [+2 NI, +1 Poor]
Refuel STOL-120 = -Cr 3500
Refuel Medium Transport = -Cr 570

Before they depart for anywhere, Mick feels the need to establish a bit more direction.

“Chloe, I have a personal interest in going North to the Arctic, because there’s someone I’m interested in up there. But let’s talk about options for deploying your invention. There are other poor towns close to Purveaux are candidates as well. St Pierre and Beausejour. Would you rather we try to implement your AI there where you will be close at hand to monitor, provide tech support, and record data results? Or is it best to implement in, say, X-2 to keep it … more discreet … out of the government’s prying eyes?

If this prototype actually works, we’re going to execute on the option for more units and the previously discussed price. Agreed?

It just so happens that both St Pierre, Beausejour, and X-2 are all also Non-Industrial towns which might provide an opportunity to sell our Machine Tools.”

Medium Transport is 4 tonne cargo capacity ... you have 5 tonnes of Electronics (plus 2.5 tonnes of other cargo).
You might be able to reach 5 tonne cargo capacity (14 passengers = 1400 kg of people and you don't have that may people or remove seats to add 200 kg per seat removed) ... but you will be short of 7.5 tonnes to load everything.

You could do a short hop and sell 2 tonnes of electronics and then load 4.5 tonnes of cargo and all the people on the Medium Transport (or ship 2 tonnes to Brulatfort on the Government Subsidized Transport and collect it from Warehouse 25 later: Cr 40).

It will hold 4 people and nearly 78 tonnes of cargo.
The issue becomes what happens to the Company Owned Medium Transport at Purvaux and all the passengers (Akoa guests and Company Employees).

So YES, the STOL-120 will hold all the cargo with room to spare (and you can even pile people into the back and sit on the cargo hold floor).

Zoe Becker doesn't really care where it is installed. Her concern is locating a community that can be convinced to install an experimental Machine AI and then follow its counter-intuitive suggestions to restructure the economy for maximum yield across the board. To broadly pursue a "rising tide" over individual quarterly profits approach and break both a cycle and the glass ceiling.

For St Oyland, you have a great deal of "political capital" stocked up that will make "convincing" as easy task. For places where you are completely unknown, you will need to work harder to build a rapport and "sell" the product.

Mick-
”Ok Zhoe, but Joe brings up a great question. Will an abnormal rise in GDP if a remote and poor community attract the attention of government? I am confident I can get a specific remote off-grid settlement to install and follow the AI, but they also want to remain below the government’s radar horizon. I definitely don’t want to disrupt their way of life…they like it, and I like it; as it’s a good alternative to the oppression and intrusion of the bureaucracy.

Though it sounds like you might specifically be trying to test this out of the prying eyes of government.

Thoughts?”

Y2156.12.12:1300 Baeusejour (sell Electronics)

Y2156.12.12:1300 Baeusejour (sell Electronics)
A short hop to unload the Basic Electronics and consolidate the craft was the first order of business. Initial market analysis [first roll on 2d6] for nearby Ni & P communities indicated Kennebecasis [1] and St Pierre [1] were both currently soft markets, but Beausejour [4] was a hopeful prospect. A three and a half hour flight brought the STOL-120 to Beausejour where you were able to sell the 5 tonnes for Cr 67,500 (earning Cr 25,000 less expenses) and splitting the commission 4 ways (Cr 420 each).

The group topped off the STOL-120 and sent it back to its home port on Auto-pilot, then climbed aboard the Grav Medium Transport to continue together. Machine Tools were the next item to sell off and convert back to cash, so a check of NI markets in the north revealed the top 3 were:

Bedec [5]
Anse-De-La-Fortune [5]
Port-La-Joye [3]

X-2(Achimasahitunanuch) was currently a [2] and St Oyland was [1] for Machine Tools, but the +3 NI and a fair Trader skill should still get the price to little above FMV.

Pressing Zoe about where to deploy the Triple I data cubes, she really has no insight into such things. Her focus is gathering real-world data to use to refine the next Generation of AI models, so anywhere that will actually USE IT is her primary concern. She can keep their identity out of her published data if they wish.

Buy 1 tonnes of Data-cubes (Triple-I Prototype AI) [Cr 50k FMV] = - Cr 40,000 ; sale [+3 Poor]
Buy 1.5 tonnes of Machine Tools [MCr 1.125 FMV] = - Cr 731,000 ; sale [+3 NI]
Buy 5 tonnes of Basic Electronics [Cr 50,000 FMV] = - Cr 42,500; sale [+2 NI, +1 Poor]
Refuel STOL-120 = -Cr 3500
Refuel Medium Transport = -Cr 570
Sell 5 tonnes of Basic Electronics [Cr 50,000 FMV] = + Cr 67,500
Broker Expenses = - Cr 3,375
Refuel STOL-120 = -Cr 720
[Hol Broker Fee = +420]
[Joe Broker Fee = +420]
[Mick Broker Fee = +420]
[Tut Broker Fee = +420]
