The effects of the carcinogenic environment must be one thing that could be maybe ameliorated? Maybe a cheap always on/reusable filter or sensor/filter combo is a mechanical fix within our wheelhouse? Atmospheric cleansers or bioware/medical solutions might be outside our expertise but... how about a "clockwork (carcinogen specific) ionizer" for domestic use? Not sure if that's a thing...

I'll give you folks until tomorrow afternoon to discuss what other things Garvin might want to discuss with Madam Treegarden before I post his dinner start. And if you want to start doing bounty hunting stuff, don't let me stop you. Multitask!

Remember, even if you don't settle it all now, she said the negotiations would remain open until she had a good idea if what was there. You know it's nothing beside the ship you left, but there is always a chance there was something in the system you missed. One never knows and I'll make a roll when the time is right. The odds of there being anything else as slim, but not zero. If there is something, it won't be in grand condition, but there might be the remains of something and that has already proven lucrative to Mad Dog.

I'm (no doubt wrongly) assuming that the Imperial charter is simply an "operator's licence/charter of trade" (like a Merc Licence). So maybe has "Levels"???

The "abjuration" of law enforcement interference must surely be limited to our own ship (or Guild)? Giving "diplomatic immunity" to a whole merchant fleet surely isn't going to fly / would be a much bigger and more difficult ask (plus we're trying to blend in not draw attention). However a small "Imperial discretion" per ship say one or ten tons might be negotiable. This will tie in to another of Garvin's requests...

"Unfortunately, Glisten is a poor source of agricultural materials," Bilis said. "And as one has to ship agricultural materials in to fabricate, then one might as well cut out the middleman and ship food directly. There is a loss converting to raw materials and fabricating. If you want them to have more food, either more must be brought in via normal channels or a way to effectively grow it here needs to be devised, which I am sure someone is researching. Roscoe can perhaps track down information on that."

In the starport, the law level is 1. Down on the surface, it is very strict at a 7. Only bladed weapons and stunners are allowed, and carrying them is discouraged. Mesh armor and above is banned. You each have some decent subdural armor, so that's not as big of an issue as it might otherwise be.

Your merc license doesn't hold sway on the planet (outside of the downport) and you don't have an Imperial permit. Those typically go to Imperial law enforcement. Maybe if Garvin sweet talks Madam Treegarden into making you Imperial Marshals, that would be different.

Yep. This is true, but hard core robots don’t get fabricated from corn husks and food doesn’t get made with metallic elements. There are different classes of raw materials and food requires raw materials from agricultural sources.
