The gives a respectful width to the goblins practices not wanting to interfere with a blessing, but is ready for a trap with the downed person. He has his short at the ready.

Mudlark
sorry about the delay- Real Life is such a pain!
Mudlark takes the lead, staying about 10 yards in front of the others. She keeps her eyes peeled for any sign of traps or ambush. She gestures for the others to stay back as she approaches the downed figure.
What can she determine about him/her from 3 yards away?

Thargus
Thargus keeps a wary eye on the figure ahead as Mudlark takes the lead. He moves to the side, positioning himself to have a clear view of both the path ahead and the surroundings. His grip tightens on his hand axe, ready for any sudden movements.
"We should be cautious. Mudlark, be ready to fall back if anything seems off," he advises, his voice low and steady. "The rest of you, stay alert. If it's a trap, we'll need to react quickly."
He glances at the towering colossi once more, a flicker of respect in his eyes for the ancient craftsmanship. "Let's see what fate has in store for us," he mutters under his breath, preparing himself for whatever lies ahead.

Alishar
Moves up to be about as close to Mudlark as Thargus is, but not right next to him. Eyes sweeping the area including the tower, sword at the ready. He will go back to taking in the sights once the mystery of the figure is solved.

Horasday the 6th of Molivios 2993 AEP approximately 10:20 AM
While Fez and Octavios cast the blessed garland into the plunge pool and the Falls drown out the melody Fez plays on his pipe, Mudlark, Athena, Alishar, Thargus, and Gundren move ahead to examine the figure near the base of the cliffs. Gelli and Niphos with Jarviss in tow maintain a watchful eye on both groups. From their vantage point they can see that the door to the ruined tower is ajar.
The advanced group comes upon a body faced down on the rocky ground below the cliffs clad in a heavy winter cloak laying in a pool of blood which appears to be sourced from the head of said body. As quick inspection shows a human male who seems to have been well equipped for adventure. In particular, they notice two coils of rope and 20 pitons packed and apparently unused during his ascent.

Athena
Athena will examine the body to confirm he is dead and her suspicion that he died of a fall. Then she will inventory his gear and see if any of it is useful and who he is was.
If she confirms he is dead, "We should do something with the body, with the ground frozen perhaps cover it with some stones."

Gundren
“Hmmmm must be mighty slippery up there on those switchbacks, maybe we should take extra precautions. Make sure our feet stays on solid stone”.
Gundren peers upwards to see if he can see anyone moving up on the switchbacks or if he can see where he might of fallen from given his landing place.

'Fez' Pheasantplucker
The little imperial goblin plays his dirge as the ad-hoc memorial wreath floats away. He peers at the carved cowl of the hooded Vul, hoping that his memorial intent and reverence doesn't provoke a scowl but a smile and approval from the Colossi figure. He is sure that even if the stone guardians don't actually watch, the spirits of the ancients do and he wants them on his good side, every blessing counts.
Of course his act (as most are) are geared as well towards sussing out his travelling companions, assessing which of those are most likely companions he can trust; who may rescue him in dire need, which pockets not to pick, who can he learn his spell-craft from, who he is most likely to trade with (gems, insults, blades), whom would he run through the fire to rescue himself. Octavious at least earning his gratitude for the uttered blessing of the wreath. He knows Goblins, Imperial and Wild are never going to be truly trusted, with good reason too, but he at least wants to rise above the usual 'whipping boy and fall guy' status reserved for his kinsfolk.
actions if no dangers arise by the poolside, he refills his canteen with fresh, icy water and preps for the long climb ahead.

Thargus
Thargus crouches next to Athena, glancing over the body with a practiced eye. "Looks like a bad fall," he mutters, noting the blood around the head. He carefully picks up one of the coils of rope and examines it. "These might come in handy. We should make sure everyone has a rope and some pitons. Better safe than sorry."
He looks up at the switchbacks, then back at the group. "Gundren's right. We need to be extra careful up there. Everyone check your gear, make sure your boots have a good grip."
Thargus helps Athena inventory the rest of the man's belongings, taking note of anything that might provide clues about who he was. "Once we're done here, we'll cover the body with stones like Athena suggested. It's the least we can do."
He stands up, eyes sweeping the surroundings for any signs of movement. "Gelli, keep a sharp lookout"
With a final look at the fallen adventurer, Thargus tightens his grip on his axe. "Let's get this done quickly. The climb ahead won't be easy."

Niphos walks up to the group by the body and addresses Gundren and Thargus. I have some skill with rope. I could perhaps rig us belaying lines if we decide to go that route.

Fez and Octavios receive a +1 bonus to any saving throws or reaction rolls until sunrise on the 7th of Molivios as the spirits of Arden and Vul do indeed favor your compassion for those souls lost in the Halls.
The group that is examining the body find that the human male who is dead but still warm to the touch indicating that his death probably occurred this morning and the result of falling from cliffside track leading to the ancient city based on the state of his skull and fractures of an arm and a leg. He is clad in a chainmail hauberk which appears to be still useable beneath his heavy winter cloak. A spear slid through the straps of his backpack while a massive two-handed flail lies on the ground near the body. In the backpack, there are 5 packages of jerky, a tinderbox, 6 torches, 20 pitons, and hammer. There are two coils of rope across the body that you estimate to be 50’ in length. In the belt pouch you find 13 pieces of gold, 10 pieces of silver, and 2 pieces of parchment folded up. The first piece is a letter to Godric from Sam which is simple and almost childlike but conveys Sam’s love for Godric and then scribbled in another hand which is much cruder the words “Sam lost must find”. The second appears to be a map drawn by what appears to be a third person.
It will take 20 minutes to gather rocks and Athena to provide rites over the corpse if the party chooses to do this. Fez can fill his canteen with no issue.

noted.
Refills canteen, washes his face in the clear, icy waters. Refreshed, he rejoins the party. He has a rope coiled around his torso already but can take half the torches if need be.
He looks at the body. "Fallen and left behind. His comrades carried on leaving him for the wolves to feast upon." he comments. Deciding that the safest climb spot in any matching order is not to be first or last, he will maneuver himself into the middle of the group as we ascend the cliffs.

Alishar We should take the ropes and pitons for the climb. Is likely some places up there where they will be needed. (I have rope & spikes, so someone else want to pick up?) Also the jerkey - is anyone low on food?
Interesting "map"... Laniko's Basment? Anyone know a Godrick or a Sam?

Athena
Athena will take the time to give him as proper a burial as she can. Placing 2 of his gp to cover his eyes shut and leaving him with his spear and 1 package of jerky to get his soul to the Ferry crossing.
She performs the rites of the dead over him to send his soul to the Ferry.
"Take what you need from the rest of his stuff. I am already carrying 75 feet of rope and a grappling hook so I don't need any of that. I will take the jerky, note, and map."
Sheet updated. I will post the map in its own thread for tracking.

Gundren
“Aye Niphos, be ready with those ropes and pitons if it gets slippery we can take precautions. Best none of our group ends up back down here like this, dead and forgotten about. I wonder at his companions: leaving him here for the wolves and crows.”
Gundren silently throws a stone onto the pile then helps distribute the items from the pack and will take one of the ropes for use.
Gundren will move to start of the path climbing up the cliff and inspect the way ahead as the group moves up, checking the stonework and the risk of falling. He will stop the party and advise any parts that seem dangerous enough to warrant roping up or any ice that needs cutting into or anything else of note on the path ahead.

Niphos will tie himself and Javess together with a belaying line. He will offer to do the same for anyone else who wants to before starting up the path. He will pick up any extra rope and pack it away for future use. He'll also take and pack away any torches that no one else takes. He looks around. Not to be mercenary, but how do we want to handle the coin? Should we appoint a treasurer?
[Niphos' Secondary skill is Roper if that helps with the belaying business.]

Gelli
Gelli will wait to rope up until we are closer to the climbing area. He continues to watch for anything hostile to the group.

Thargus
Thargus kneels by the body, examining the two-handed flail and the spear with a thoughtful frown. "These could be useful," he mutters, hefting the flail and spear to test their weight.
(Anything in particular discernible on the weapons? Symbols, carvings, quality?)
Seeing Athena prepare for the burial rites, Thargus nods in approval. "Thank you, Athena. He deserves some peace."
Turning to Alishar, Thargus adds, "You’re right about the ropes and pitons. We'll need them for the climb. I've got a rope now, but someone else should take the other one. And we should definitely check that map out later. It might give us some clues about this place."
He listens as Niphos offers to rig belaying lines and Gundren begins inspecting the path ahead. "Good idea, Niphos. We'll need those lines, especially on the trickier parts." "As for the coin, how about we split it evenly among the group? If there's an odd number, we can save the remainder for some sort of group common pot."
He glances at the others as they make their preparations, making sure everyone is ready. "Alright, folks. Looks like we're as ready as we'll ever be. I'll take the lead on the climb unless anyone else wants to go first. Keep an eye out for any dangerous spots and let's make sure we all get up there in one piece."
With that, and if the group is ready, Thargus will begin the ascent, moving carefully and signaling any slippery or unstable sections to those behind him.

Octavios looks up the cliff wall with hesitation. “That’s a long way up… maybe there is another way? That door there in the tower perhaps to check out…”
