Alle

So all of the Ghouls were in this small area to the left? Did you encounter anything when you came in? Must be some entrance over here to the left. Maybe built on an old grave yard or crypt. Let's check it out. We didn't need more surprises so stay alert.

All three bodies of the ghouls lay where they fell. The flickering torch gives them a macabre look but there appear to be no others. There are coffins/sarcophagai all over the room. There is a dry fountain in the center and what looks like an altar of some type in the back.

OOC: where are we entering from?
See attached map with notes ;)

See updated map; do you mean on the right from where you came in or straight ahead?

She starts searching around for where they came from.

There has to be some place they are coming from in this room.

Nice!!

While Khawla and Alle look around, Gurkan hones in on some scuffs and traces of a path...which leads back into the main room, and then turns left toward the northern stairs (directly opposite of where you came in the mausoleum). There appear to be five, maybe six sets of footprints.
The stairs lead down into darkness...

he states to his friends as he tightens his grip on his sword hilt

"I will hurry."

She rushes back to the acolytes to let them know there are more and they are going to hunt them. Then she rushes back.

Standing at the top of the stairs, the light from Alle's staff illuminates the steps and into the chamber beyond, nearly 30 feet. Where the steps end, there are definite footprints...a lot of them as if this is the path the ghouls use to come to and fro. There also appears to be coffins in this chamber as well; Alle and Gurkan can just make out their shapes in the shadows. How many and to what state they are in can't be determined from the top of the stairs.
Sweating profusely...Glistening with sweat, Khawla hurries back to the library to inform the novices where they have gone. Vandy is still unconscious, but seems to have stabilized with the ministrations of her faithful disciples.
Running back to the mausoleum, Khawla enters and sees her companions straight ahead of her at the top of the northern stairs; the light from Alle's staff illuminates the surrounding area.

Actions?

Khawla

"I am back. What do we have here? Looks like more traffic then I would have expected, not good. We should check these coffin's first in case there are undead in them."

She will ready her holy symbol in case she needs it to attempt to turn something.

Alle

Remember do not let them touch you. They will paralyse any they touch. I will ready my missile spells so do not be surprised when they fly by. They unerringly hit every time. Let's move in and see what sleeps here.

She keeps her staff in hand, holding it high to cast the most light.

When Khawla returns, the trio ventures deeper into the mausoleum. Down the stairs, the light from Alle's staff reveals another chamber of coffins. The room is dank and slightly damp, likely from the moisture along the edge of the coast. Along the left hand wall is a shelf with several stone urns. Both lower corners hold statues of a woman who appears to be in mourning clothing, a veil over her face. Seven coffins are in the chamber...and at least four of them have been defiled. Their lids torn apart and the contents strewn about...bones and bits of clothing lying around them. A large section of the back wall has collapsed...rubble pouring into the chamber. Beyond is a black hole...

Khawla moves towards the black hole, checking to make sure nothing is hiding in the room/coffins as she goes.

Does she open or try to open the closed coffins?
