Bryne, Thena, Mave Morwen and Torvik all move in to attack the rat-man, inadvertently blocking Wilwarin's attack. Weakened what is no doubt a poisoned blade Bryne strikes but hits only air to the rat-man's right, however Thena follows up her attack with a devastating hit in which you hear the sound of bones cracking. Vari moves back holding off an attack for fear of hitting those now between her and the rat-man. Mave merely inflicts a glancing blow on the rat-man, while Morwen moves in and strikes him a deadlier blow. Torvik wielding the sword of Durvan the Hawk slips in unexpectedly and feels energy coursing through his hand as he cuts deeply into the rat-man side, causing the creature to scream before dropping to the stone floor. From behind you, you hear Athan skewering the last remaining rat.

All opponents are dead or turned. Bryne is injured and now has taken an additional point of damage from the poison, for a total of -5.

Thena

Your looking a bit pale... Has Bryne take a seat, applies her non-magical healing knowledge and skill.

OCC: I don't think Thena is within the time limit to apply her "heal" skill, one round. @gurusql, can you claify?

Davion, do you have any divine healing?

Torvik looks at the dead man-rat 'rat king's' weapon blade without actually touching it he cuts off a piece of cloth from the defeated enemy's clothing/armor and rubs the material over the blade to see what if anything it wipes off of the foes blade. "If it be poison best be hopin someone has a antidote handy." he then takes to searching the dead foe for anything it might have had on it other than the deadly weapon.

Thena sits Bryne down and examines her wound. The cut is rather deep and she notices a darker reddish liquid mixed with the blood, no doubt the poison.

Kade as well as Locke and Liviel all continue to hold their doors shut though whatever was pounding on them earlier has ceased to do so.

Torvik cutting a rag from the rat-man's cloth cloak and cleans the blade wiping both Bryne's blood from it and a deep crimson liquid, cleaning the serrated blades and avoiding the poison. Though he doesn't touch the blade, Torvik does recognize it is of high quality. Searching the grime covered body he also notes the skull-staff it carried and a small silver ring on its left hand. At his belt he finds two small vials of liquid, one a crimson red like the liquid that coats the blade, the other a purplish liquid next to the crimson one.

Torvik reveals his findings to the group "Anyone familiar with potions? I'm wonderin' if this purple one ain't an antidote fer that poison I suspect be what tha red one is. Oh an I found this ere ring." the dwarf is carefule to not drop or break the vials. He then removes the silver ring as well.

Bryne

"Be careful Torvik, we don't need two of us poisoned. I could try it and see if it helps."

She follows any instructions from Thena.

Torvik half smiles "Oh, dun get me wrong I ain't fer tryin unknown liquids meself." he says as he digs out his spare cloak and carefully wraps the two vials in the cloak. "Anyone got a better place ta put these that don't have heavy items like me that might break em?" he hopes someone else might be able to carry them, if not he will try packing them in his backpack in the safest manner so that they would be protected from breaking.

Mave

Mave remains at alert keeping an eye on the darkness from whence the rat-king came. She doesn't volunteer to take the vials, not feeling confidence in her ability to keep them undamaged. She wondered about the strange fetish that the rat-king wore that seemed to glow when he was struck, but kept looking into the darkness behind the body, uneasy at the opened unexplored area.

Thena

Helps Bryne lay down. Opening her pack she extract parchment and a potion of healing. Lie still friend. She starts blotting the nefarious liquid form the wound and applies other mitigating measures. Quietly to the others: This is going to take a bit.

Thena opts to work w/ Bryne for 5 rounds to give a bonus to save. If he looks like he is going critical she will administer the potion of healing in an effort to extend his bodies time to fight.

Kade, Locke and Liviel retain their protective positions at the two doors while Mave retrieves her bow and with Vari keeps watchful eyes on the darkness from whence the rat-man came. Everyone takes a moment to rest, Davion seats himself beside Thena, saying, "I can heal her if needed. Just give me the word." He is visibly shaken from the encounter and his hand still shakes, holy symbol at the ready.

After Thena's treatment, Bryne feels noticeably better, the burning from the wound has disappeared. Thena has succeeded in her treatment.

With the crisis passed, you all discuss your next move.

Thena

Whispering. Thank Tempus, you are welcome. To Davion: Please heal Bryne.

Thena will put away her potion and remaining parchment. With the recent undead encounter she decides to keep Rover sheathed and un-slings her mace. Taking a look at the rat man.

Did it possess anything fruitful?

She can carry the potions of there are no other takers.

Torvik nods his head and walks over to Bryne and puts the ring in her hands.

Bryne

"Thank you Torvik, but if you want to keep it for now I am fine with that."

She will examine the ring while she has it just in case it has any marking or design that might indicate what it does.

Thena

I'd say we take everything but be careful trying to use or put on, keep in mind the allegiance of the last owner.... We can identify and split later, maybe destroy.

Should we descend or take a look behind the side doors? There is danger no matter which way.

Sheet updated with 2 unidentified potions.

Thena will take the fetish and weapon as well if no one else does.
