The Mausoleum
Re: The Mausoleum
Tuurma stays silent and alert while the others work on the door, keeping lookout in both direction of the corridor.

Ceana
She steps to one side to let Maxon get to the door. When he pushes, she pushes too.

Questions And Comets
Maxon joins Ceana at the defaced portal, pushing his shoulder into the door as well. Together they are able to budge the stuck stone door, but it only moves slightly before hitting something that stops it from opening completely. They push and push, but the door remains stuck open only a tiny crack, not even wide enough to peer through.
Cormag and Tuurma spot no threats, but a feint glint of gold gilding can be seen at the very tops of the two open doorways on the south side of the hallway.

The druid huffs and pushes her hair out of her face. "Well, nothing happening here. Let's go to another door."
She walks to one of the southern doors and peers inside.

Kainaxarthos
He muses aloud at the possible reasons for the blockage. "Interesting. Maybe a fallen stone or the floor itself broken and obstructing. Possibly we could access it from another side."
"Do you see the marks of opulence that remain here?" Kain points out the blue glass roof, still visible in places. "Those two rooms looked already trashed before, but I only glanced. Now that we have lookouts, confirming could be useful."
Kain moves to enter the room, if empty, and looks around.

Re: The Mausoleum
Tuurma has a long good look at the doorway.
"Yes, probably something fell down from inside. Most likely stone slabs from the roof. That would also mean that room is untouched by pillagers." She raises an eyebrow towards her companions. "You know, we could have a look from above? Maybe that room is accessible if we climb the building and enter from above."
She accompanies the others to the next room as they leave, the clanking noise from her armor echoing in the hallway as she moves.
"Kain, did you mention pictures of a comet in the other room? That sounds like a doomsday cult to me. This sure is an iteresting place. Do you think it has any connection to the abominations that they say roam the streets at night?"

Good points, Tuurma. We should look for ways up and down when we're sure this floor is clear.

Re: The Mausoleum
Questions And Comets
Unable to force the first door open more than a crack, the group decides to search the southern rooms before advancing further down the sand filled hallway.
The loudly clanking Tuurma asks the others if they think this place has anything to do with reports of moaning abominations she has heard roam the streets of Xambaala at night, also suggesting an aerial entry might be possible into the locked rooms.
By the looks of the interior of both lower opened rooms, this area has already been ransacked by tomb robbers. The stone coffins inside are badly broken, any contents once within now long gone. The only thing of interest or value to be found in either open room is the golden gilding that remains along the tops of the 2 doorframes. Though most of it has already been removed, it appears it might be easy enough to peel what remains away from the stone frame, but scratching away what is left of the gold leaf completely would take several hours at least.
The rest of the building remains quiet and calm.......maybe too calm?

"Let's keep moving and checking doors as we go. Don't wanna leave anything or anyONE behind us," she says with a wink. With that, Ceana will move as quietly as possible to the next door and listen.

Kainaxarthos
"If we are more desperate than all who came before we could maybe find some profit up there." He points to the gilding. "But I like your idea of a more vertical approach. The next room on the left is open and might have means of getting up."
Kain moves forward to the open door mentioned and peeks in.

Re: The Mausoleum
Tuurma tries to keep up with Kain, although clad in heavy armor.
"Hey, careful now. We don't want to split up too much in here. I have a bad feeling about this place. Okay, I see, just a look, right?"
She takes up position behind him with sword at the ready, looking further down the hall for any enemies suddenly appearing.
"What's in there Kain?"

Re: The Mausoleum
Hopefully Taibhse is still with us here.
Questions And Comets
Ceana and Maxon move up to the next door on their right, a once decorative but now well rusted iron portal with an obvious locking mechanism still in place. The locked door doesn't look tampered with, but it also wont move if pushed upon, and there is only more silence coming from beyond.
Tuurma stays across the hallway from Kain, peering up into the ceiling of the two broken rooms, she does indeed see a few cracks in the stone above where sunlight shines through. None of the cracks are wide enough for human ingress, however.
Peeking into the same room he investigated last time, Kain sees that nothing has been disturbed since they were here yesterday. A sandstone sarcophagus lies shattered upon the steps of a dais in one corner. On the northern wall, Thracian hieroglyphs can be seen, but not read from this distance. Otherwise, this tomb appears empty and clear of threats at first second glance.
Cormag watches the rear, hoping nothing sneaks up on them while searching this silent sandy graveyard.

Sighing with a shrug and a frown at Maxon, "No way in hell am I going to be able to open this one!"
Ceana then walks over to Kain and continues inside the room, approaching the dais and sarcophagus with caution.

He smiles warmly as Ceana joins him in the sarcophagus room. "Ah. Can you read the hieroglyphics? I need to take a closer look." Kain steps in to try to read the wall.

Maxon
Maxon bends a bit to study the lock.
IF it can be broken off- I need a hammer. He'll break the lock off the door, and try it again.

Re: The Mausoleum
Maxon can certainly try smashing the built-in iron lock out with the hammer and prybar you bought at the Bazzar, but he knows this will not be a quiet endeavor.
If he wants to give it a try, give me three consecutive Tests of Strength rolls and we will see what happens.
