Bertie
Does Bertie think a stun grenade into the centre is possible without reaching Goran?

With a strong success, you could get the creatures but not Goran, but I'd be awfully tempted to have a mixed success or failure catch him.

Bertie considers throwing a stun grenade, but realises in her weakened condition it's too dangerous. Instead she looks around for rocks or something else to throw.

Skur Vonn is Dextrous and skilled in Combat Proficiency (Laser Pistol), so you can roll 3d6, keep 2, +1. No need to roll damage, as a hit is a hit is a hit. And one action, please!

Kallina calls out,
"Watch out Goran, something is in there with you!" She briefly considers her stunner, but instead grabs a canister of rope-in-a-can.
"Catch this Goran!" She fires a stream of polymer mist which coalesces into a braided plastic line. The end of the line lands in the sand near Goran.
Bertie looks around for a rock.
Drama Roll [1d6]=5 A good result!
Jeeves points out a likely option.
“I believe this rock is heavy enough to have a reasonable chance of causing harm to the creature, while still being within your physical capabilities for lifting and tossing it, ma’am. Ah, and here is one that I believe I can manage. Shall we count to three and then heave our missiles with martial gusto?”
One of the creatures leaps from the surface of the sand, its triangular head agape, showing rows of conical teeth! As bursts into open view,
Skur Vonn fires a laser beam straight down its gullet!

- Sand Shark.png (389.22 KiB) Viewed 415 times
The beast is about 3 meters long, with a tapered body like an aquatic creature. It has three rows of appendages running down its body that propel it quickly beneath the surface of the sand as it recoils from the laser shot. It darts away, leaving a wake of distinct ripples in the sand.
Its companion, however, is still headed towards
Goran! This one does not breach the surface however, instead trying to snag Goran’s leg and pull him under:
Advantaged Roll [_3d6k2]=(6+6)=12 Oh no!
Goran is expertly plucked from sight, disappearing below the sand. His leg is firmly in the grip of the creature’s toothy bite, and he is blinded, suffocating, and unable to reach his equipment as he is pulled through the sand!

Kallina
Kallina tries to keep track of where Goran is being dragged. She will run along the rim trying to keep as close as possible to them.

Goran
Trying to grab for where the rope was with one hand, with the other Goran desperately draws his bowie knife and stabs at the creature grabbing his leg trying to get it to release him or drag him back to the surface.

Bertie grabs the rock
"Quick Jeeves, maybe we can make the creature release Goran...one...two...three..."
She throws the rock at her best guess of the creatures location
Roll: [_2d6]=(5+3)=8, dis/advantage[1d6]=2
I'm guessing here a standard roll as the flu disadvantage is cancelled out by her athletics skill

Skur Vonn looks to see if the sand shows signs of movemnet below the surface, and if so he fires at it.

Kallina runs along the edge of the valley, tracking the ripples of the two creatures. The one with Goran is headed towards the center of the funnel. The one that was fleeing pauses and circles back, and begins closing in on Goran as well.
Goran has been dragged too far away from the plastiline rope to be able to grab it, but, despite being dragged through a crushing weight of sand, manages to move his arms to his belt and retrieve his bowie knife without immediately losing his grip on it. He cannot see anything with the scouring sand rushing past his face, but he can feel the monster’s body alongside his own.
Bertie throws her rock at the apex of the ripples in the sand, striking the beast, but upsetting her own balance! (Please give me a roll to avoid toppling into the funnel!) (1 Hit on Sand Shark 1)
Jeeves also throws his rock, targeting the same spot as Bertie, and strikes a hit! However, the sand bank crumples under his weight, and he goes sliding into the sand shark’s feeding pit! (1 Hit on Sand Shark 1)
The sand shark, struck by two heavy stones, convulses and breaks the surface, giving Skur Vonn a clear shot. His aim is precise and deadly! (Critical hit: 2 Hits on Sand Shark 1) The beast shudders and stops, dead in its tracks.
Goran’s chewed up leg is sticking out of the sand, but the rest of him is still buried.
The second sand shark is headed in his direction!

Bertie, thrown off balance by her efforts throwing a stone at s sand shark, slips into the funnel, right behind Jeeves. “Ms. Wilberforce,” says Jeeves, “Try to reach me and climb up my exposed chassis. I do not expect these native creatures to have a taste for my components.”
Skur Vonn fires another laser beam at the remaining sand shark. He suspects the shot has been diffused by the sand. To do real damage, he needs to shark to breach the surface again.
Kallina finds a large rock and tosses it shot-put style at the creature. She strikes it right in the center of where its triangular head must be, arresting its progress towards where Goran remains buried. The V-shaped ripples in the sand that show its movement stop for a minute. When they resume, the sand shark seems to be headed away. Perhaps it is giving up on this prey?
The sand looks still and quiet. Goran, Bertie, and Jeeves need help getting out of the funnel.
Kallina: 2 of 5 Hits. (flu)
Bertie: 2 of 4 Hits. (flu, will recover on Day 4)
Skur Vonn: 2 of 4 Hits.
Goran: 1 of 4 Hits. (flu)
Jeeves: 1 of 2 Hits.
What do you do?

"THank you Jeeves, hold still..."
Bertie tries to climb of the sand basin using Jeeves as a 'ladder':

<sigh>
As she has athletics, at least it's not disadvantaged.

Skur Vonn Goran has the climbing equipment - we need the extra rope to get the out. He looks around the area for anything that can substitute as rope.
