She watches the brothers' performance and nods.

"Yes, a magnificent beast indeed. We will help you kill it."

"We didn't speak to the brothel owner, that is still an option, which me might lose if we don't act on it. There are other places to stay, such as the Saturns Luck. We were saying we needed more to catch this beast, this is our last opportunity to get more equipment, assuming we can afford it between us."

Akhilleus' eyes widen for a heartbeat at the size of the creature. He then turns to his companions.

"I don't have any money other than some silvers, so if we want to buy a net and spears, I can barely contribute to anything.

But now that you mention it..." He looks at the sordid slave-village. "I rather spend the night in the brothel cellar. Also don't want to sleep the whole night keeping an eye on my weapons."

Xenos sighs and looks at Kang

"You must know and trust these people if you are willing to seek help for them. Are we safe to spend the night here?"

He looks at the group:

"A shopping trip is pointless if we don't have the money to make it worthwhile. Does anyone have more than a few silvers to spend on such?"

Drest

"I don't have much coin, certainly not enough to buy anything we are talking about. I am fine spending the night here. Perhaps the hide of such a beast will be worth something."

Xenos

"With a creature that size, not just the hide. I have heard that it's organs and glands can be used in potions and charms. It will be a dangerous endeavour, more so as we will need to be careful to damage the hide as little as possible."

Drest

"I would like to get whatever we can for whatever we can salvage, but I am not going to worry about damaging it if that is what it takes to kill the beast."

Tuurma

Starting to get a bit impatient.

I have four gold coins, that's it. Those were supposed to cover food and drink for a few days, but let's use what we need. What would four gold even buy us in terms of javelins or goats around these parts? Come on, let's walk while we discuss. Kang, tell the brothers we go get spears and come back early morning!

Maybe we can even eat the worm. Or Croc, or what you called it?"

Xenos

"I have a half dozens javelins and three gold coins. If this is the sum of our money then I fear our coins will not get us much, but we might manage a net and a mangy goat perhaps."

Kang

“I have some coin, enough I think for a net, a goat, and if you need, some spears. You will need to wait till dawn first. Everyone stays indoors at night. There are terrors that stalk the streets at night.”

Xenos

"There is time for some of us to get to Xambaala before dark and find somewhere safe to stay overnight and return in the morning."

Tuurma

"No time to waste, let's start travelling back before it gets dark. Anyone wants to stay here until we come back in the morning, do so."

"Are you staying Krang? If so I will stay with you."

"I thought we all volunteered to come with Kang and help get rid of the Iron Worm. My understanding was we could stay here and our basic needs, a room, water, food would be catered for.

We have enough weapons between us and if you need a sacrificial lamb, I will do it. I am not of the fighter class, so once it appears you can all stab it with the javelins and swords you have got."

My simple plan to lure the creature would be to make noise near the water, drawing it to my location and then hoping you guys can trap it before it strikes.

Do you have in your camp any skin drums?" she tries to get an idea of what percussion instruments she can make music with. Skin drums are best, she has bone drumsticks (used to keep her hair in a fashionable bun), but if they don't have then empty amphora or jugs. I could partly fill some like glass bottles to create different notes. Even different sized wooden buckets will tap a rhythm.

(Learned in my family kitchen using pots, pans and wooden spoons. Hey if this works, to kill the Iron beast, they might herald me as 'the Iron Maiden', as long as I don't end up looking more like Eddy).

Basic plan would be to sit on the mud bank close to the waterline, playing a rhythm to summon the beast. Hopefully the sound ripples across the surface and underneath and provokes interest by the beast to come over.

I am trying for this effect. In the circumstances, it seems most appropriate.

The very worst will be using my spiked spear as a matchstick beam to keep the crocodile's jaws open rather than biting down on me.

If drums are available or I need to make my own percussion, I will spend the evening working on fine tuning any of those items so they make a solid pitch in their bass sounds.

The monk speaks, his face still stoic and enigmatic. “I do not know you, individually or as a group. You appear capable and I give your opinions proper respect. Yet it seems some of you are hasteful in your plan. To be the bait is courageous yet…foolish. Why risk harm when one can wait a day, a day spent observing this creature while a net and other supplies can be procured. To be prepared it seems is a reasonable action. My master was fond of admonishing with the adage, “A foolish monk falls in where wise men fear to tread.””

"Then I can wait here and observe, if anyone sees the beast let me know and I will see what I can learn from a distance."

Akhilleus'

"While Xenos and Tuurma procure the net and the goat, the rest of us can wait here and fight off the beast in case it comes. We can observe it, like Kang says, and Valkrina has time to make her drums.

Tomorrow we can call the worm with the drums and the goat.

I only have 9 silver. Xenos, I know you well enough to know you won't run away with a few silver coins... Here, take 6. Hopefully it will help somehow with the spendings."

Xenos takes the coins from Akhilleus.

"That seems a reasonable compromise. We shall seek a room at the Saturn's Luck."

He looks at Kang

"Will you be joining us? If not are you willing to give us some of your coin."
