Re: Character Generation
He looks good Shaidar. I will get some spell info up for you.
My only comment, which applies to everyone when looking at skills is:
Condition is the Skill that your Endurance is based off. Your Endurance will be Condition/5 (rounded). How many injuries, fatigue, and blood loss you can handle is based on this. Your Encumbrance is based on it and how fast you heal or fight off infection, disease, poison etc are all based on it. As an example Arngeir currently has a 14 Endurance, better than average. But by spending an option point on Condition he has spend some of his time doing physical stuff to make himself tougher. His Condition ML is now 84 and his Endurance is 17, excellent.

Nice start. My Mom grew up on a sheep farm and one of my favorite characters was a herdsman.hedgeknight wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:05 pm Here's what I have so far:

weight should be 160 lbs +1 Str (this may already be included)
-1 Agi for Heavy frame (this may already be included)
Psionics, 13-8 so you get 3 rolls (%d) the first 2 will be OML2 and the third OML1 (dormant)
You might want to chance extra Medical and Psych rolls for the +5 to your attributes
Herdsman skills are Animalcraft/4, Tracking/4, Survival/3, Weatherlore/2
Parent would have been a Herdsman so all of the above OMLs would be +1
5 option points
age 16
You can take the militia option and add Sling/4 (it just fits a Herdsman)
I would also give you 6 Veteran Years, (I give 5 OP/year to age 21, then 4 OP/year to 30, then 3/ year after that), so an additional 29 option points to spend.
What has he been doing and what has he learned in those years?
Your contact rolls might help with giving you idea. Maybe he picked up some weapon skills fighting the Foulspawn (Harnic Orcs).
Re: Character Generation
For the Clerics.
You can select from the Common Rituals (you should have all Circle II free) or you Deities specific Rituals.
You get a total number of circles equal to your Ritual SB (not counting the common II's)
Posted in the tables section.

Re: Character Generation

I'll post a new sheet with spells later.
I'm also planning to make the following option point changes:
1 point to buy riding
1 point for +1 to condition (swapped from +1 riding)
1 point +1 to oratory
1 point +1 to awareness
1 point to buy survival (swapped from +1 to Harnic)
I get the feeling he's been out and about amongst his people (maybe his unfriendly church and distant relative contacts have it in for him and arranged to have him sent on his journey, which is where he might have met his special contact).

Re: Character Generation
So long as you don't mind waiting on me I probably wont get much further with character generation until tomorrow.

Re: Character Generation
That is fine Ed. We have some who haven't started yet and some just starting. Once shaidar gets wrapped up I can always put up a session zero thread and play through some individual play to start to show how the rules work.

Re: Character Generation
I did a couple more of the family rolls and added to my initial posting with the other two rolls.
I'm just trying to keep them all in one place so I can just go back to that one post and find them all.

Re: Character Generation
Good try on spells but my explanation didn't work so I will do an example. You don't get 1 spell per ritual SB, you get 1 circle worth of spell so:
Prayer of Elkyri II
Usnarl's Hug II
Njehu's Dive IV
Suerlji's Defense III
Truthsense III
2+2+4+3+3=14
Re: Character Generation

Sorry, failed my reading comprehension. I will post my next try a bit later.

Looking good.GreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:05 pm I've only begun with the generation rolling wow lots of rolls here. I haven't gotten overly far with the Family Development rolling that's where I last was though.
Birth date [1d12]=5 for month [1d30]=18 for day
Sibling Rank, [1d100]=49 [1d6-1]=6-1=5
went Khuzdul so -20 to that % roll.
Parent, roll [1d100]=15 if needed [1d100]=86
Estrangement roll [1d100]=58
Clanhead roll [1d100]=10
Clanhead roll [1d100]=41 if needed [1d100]=90
Height [4d6]=16 Frame [3d6]=7 Comeliness [3d6]=10
Strength [4d6c1+4]=11+4=15
Stamina [4d6c1+1]=8+1=9 correction +2 not +1 = 10
Dexterity [4d6c1+1]=7+1=8
Agility [4d6c1]=10
Eyesight [3d6]=8 +1 = 9
Hearing [3d6+2]=12+2=14
Smell [3d6+2]=12+2=14 (i hope this means sense of smell not body odor)
Voice [3d6]=10
Intelligence [4d6c1-2]=6-2=4 Aura [4d6c1-2]=9-2=7 Will [4d6c1+3]=13+3=16
Height is 4'8"
Frame is Medium
Weight is 112 lbs, -2 Str
LOL, yes Smell is your sense of Smell not BO, it is important in only a few skills, but they are all important ones (Fyvrian magic, Alchemy, Tracking, Awareness, Brewing)
Why was your Int -2, that should be no modifier
The sheets are under resources, Here it is http://www.columbiagames.com/resources/ ... llable.pdf

Re: Character Generation
I thought the mod for dwarf said -2 on Intelligence, but I have had an issue where I kept looking at the wrong line item. I am doing this with like 3 tabs open lol.
Thank you I guess I didn't see anything that said it was a character sheet in resources.
Uh under frame in the handbook it says a score of 7 is Light and that it is only -2 for Sindarin so does that still lower my STR by 2? Asking because it shows Med frame for Khuzdul is a modifier of +3 not -2?

Re: Character Generation
Someone needs to explain to me how to do the magic thing where you make a link look like something else. Then I could make it look nicer. I honestly would go crazy making a PC from a PDF version of the rules or my guide on here. I need the book in front of me, which is how I have been doing it since 1992. It is also nice that the rules are in a 3 ring binder so certain pages are out on the desk in front of me.

no worries I was just asking since I was a little confused myself.

Re: Character Generation
Your roll was 7 +3 for Khuzdul makes it 10 medium, or did you roll a 4? The modifiers have nothing to do with what you rolled, they are by species so a Sindarin would be a Scant frame with a roll of 7 and a Khuzdul a mediumGreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 3:26 pm I thought the mod for dwarf said -2 on Intelligence, but I have had an issue where I kept looking at the wrong line item. Re: Character Generation
I rolled the macro as it was stated 3d6 I added no mods for the Frame roll. I just didn't understand why it drops my STR as I didn't see anything in that table/chart that indicates it does so.

there is another table for weight modifiers.

Re: Character Generation
Alright I just missed that table/chart then so that is my bad. Anyone else notice the text in the form fillable character sheet is larger than what the space lets you see?
