The sub-forums for the different D&D editions have been alphabetized.

You've been added... as have sub-forums for Bushido and Cold Iron.
Sorry, I didn't realize you officially wanted them created yet.
No problem. Thanks. I'm excited to see where this goes. I look forward to playing in several of these as well as the ones I run.

And if one of the other Bushido GMs wants to run the Bushido one, that would be totally cool with me.

Not me, can't stnd them. Besides, if we write this open enough then the same game system could be used for a variety of power levels.
I was just thinking about how much time is taken with chargen in the more involved systems. Maybe we offer players a choice.

Actually, I feel like working through the character generation process is a large part of the process for players exploring a new game.

I guess there's no harm if a GM wants to provide them as options, and there are players interested in using them, but I would hesitate before considering them a requirement.

Right on then. Chargen followed by short scenario. Should be fun.

I would rather not do pre-gens but character gen can take some time in some of the systems for sure. I actually enjoy character gen so I may be unusual in that regard.

I think lots of good points have been made that we should do chargen.

May I humbly suggest 2400 Legend as another candidate system?

Pre-Gens

Pre-generated characters are an effect way to compare the various system mechanics; a baseline of sorts. I am currently in a FtF 5e game and the character power difference between 5e and earlier versions of AD&D/D&D is laughable. We ported some 2e characters into 5e and it was a real eye opener.

I'm interested in taking part as a player.

Is the plan to provide crib sheets so we don't have to buy a large number of rules?

Will games be run in parallel or in serial?

I assume players can pick and choose from what's available, as long as each game gets enough players?

Will there be some kind of exit poll/quiz to rate our experiences?

That is a good point shaidar. We should consider some sort of exit poll or rating system from everyone.

Let's go!
Hi, Dave. I have Ideas about the scenario. Would you please add me to the forum? I'd like to bring them up in the Q&A topic.

I guess I'll run the AD&D 2e simulation. If I'm not added to the simulation group please add me Dave.

Good points shaidar. For HarnMaster I have everything needed and can walk people through and post whatever is needed. I would think we could probably run a couple at a time depending on how many are interested in participating. I am in as a DM and a player. We may want to start putting up DM names with the name of the rules sub-forum just to keep track of them.

That's all cool. I want to try out some different systems, but limits on my time means I'd have to be careful on how many games I do at once.

That is understandable and some games will have a harder time drawing players then others I am sure.

Keep in mind the whole thing is not really a full on game this is a "simulation" event not full on game running (yet)

Was it shaidar that suggested an "exit interview"? Not only is that a great idea for the DM, but for the entire team. Maybe we run a very small number of games for a while, and use feedback from each one to help improve the scenario and other games?

It'll still be fun to try out some new systems even in a limited fashion and will hopefully lead to some full games.

Agreed on the exit interview and yes I think it will be fun. You can always follow along or read a game after it is done if you are interested and can't play in that one. Who knows you may see something you really like.

I think Leitz's idea of an initial limited test run is a good one.
