Moving behind Ambergris,
Tommy fires another eldritch blast at Lesh's opponent, even though the man somehow dodges the full effect.
Necromite save: [1d20+1]=14+1=15
"Do you value your life?" the tabaxi shouts at the man, hoping to keep from killing him.
The necromite responds by invoking claws of darkness and sending them after Tommy...who easily tumbles out of the way!
Tommy steps back and shakes his head at the trailing dark claw and retorts to the necromite extending his hand
if you wanted to shake my hand you just had to step on closer
casts Tashas Hideous Laughter (Wis save DC 15)
if you don't value your life just tell us what we need to know and then we can obliged you with a ticket to your gods realm
Hideous Laughter
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Duration: Up to 1 minute
A creature of your choice that you can see within range perceives everything as hilariously funny and falls into fits of laughter if this spell affects it. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or fall prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration. A creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or less isn’t affected.
At the end of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. The target has advantage on the saving throw if it’s triggered by damage. On a success, the spell ends.
-----------------------------
on a side note just for reference, Eldritch blast does not require a save, only a to hit

Ambergris
"Funny? He's gone insane! I'll give him something to laugh about".
Ambergris to hit melee two handed spear [1d20+3]=20+3=23 damage [1d8+3]=7+3=10
Probably Ambergris doesn't see the spell casting or perceive the effect taking place as a spell. He just sees a guy previously attacking them shaking with grotesque laughter. A lunatic.
He stabs him anyway.

Lesh see the Necromite laughing like a mad man and moves up to bash the guy over the head with his shield
(if that hits) it's 3 damage in hopes of knocking him out.
No Bonus: [1d20+0]=12+0=12

Necromites to the End! Rd 3...
If you wanted to shake my hand you just had to step on closer,
Tommy says, weaving his fingers, the beginnings of an incantation.
Lesh hesitates, not sure what to do with this stubborn man who is willing to die like his companions...and while he hesitates, Tommy finishes his spell and sends it toward the necromite.
Necromite save: [1d20]=14
The necromite bursts forth a chuckle followed by a laugh, then his knees buckle and he is howling in laughter!
(So close to saving!)
Lesh walks up to the man and bashes him on the head with his shield. The necromite's laughter stops abruptly and he falls back twitching.
"Funny? He's gone insane! I'll give him something to laugh about".
Ambergris says, stepping forward and skewering the necromite, who is no longer laughing.
The necromite is not only merely dead, he's really most sincerely dead...and there are steps leading down into darkness; was he guarding them?

No he gets to frisk some bodies. He takes two of the cloaks, one for the catman and one for himself. He figures Lesh, as a priest of another god would not consider even disguising himself such.
"If need be, we could pretend Lesh is a prisoner or sacrifice."

The captain finally gets a chance to pilfer the bodies, finding three skull-headed flails, a lot of raggedy clothing (he takes two cloaks), and an interesting item on each of the necromites:
1/ An elegantly carved comb of oak, engraved with the name
Aethelren and decorated with twin dragons.
2/ A ragged leather bag full of gold-filled teeth. If the gold were extracted from the teeth, one would have enough for about three gold pieces.
3/ A plain mirror with a frame of pale ash wood. When Ambergris looks in the mirror, however, he sees an elven face in place of his own.

She turns her head one way and the next, primping her hair, pursing her lips, as if she were looking in a mirror.

"its a good idea"
he puts on the necromites robe and sends the unseen servant ahead in to the room to the east (same idea as before, unseen servant ahead and stealth behind) and peers behind

Carries on exploring, tucking the flail into his waist band to bop any cultist heads he meets along the way.

did we recover any notable stuff from the three cultists? Papers, scrolls, identity?
They were not equipped for excavating or digging more of the collapse. Maybe they raided the sarcophagus to obtain something?
"Let's go see. What's the worst that can happen?" he says, though he gestures the cleric ahead as it is more his domain type of thing.

tommy sends the unseen servant in (thinking that if there are any traps they'll be set off by the decoy) and prepares in case anything crawls out of the sarcophagus,
OOC: prepared action: eldritch blast
if there's no immediate threat he looks for disturbances in the rubble dirt any signs of passage, maybe tracks to a secret door....
Perception: [1d20+4]=14+4=18

Did you miss all those goodies I described in my post above, #49?
Into the dark room with the sarcophagus,
Tommy sends his unseen servant, pink bathrobe gleaming. The servant floats to the open crypt and hovers for several seconds. Nothing happens > no immediate threat, no shadows detaching from the dark walls, nothing. Just the sounds of dripping water somewhere and the foreboding quietness of a tomb.
Tommy ventures in and looks for disturbances in the rubble dirt. He finds no signs of passage, no footprints, no tracks...

Ambergris
Pokes his spear into the base of the open sarcophagus, checking for false floors or something hidden in the dust and detritus contained within.
Who has the mirror? Tap the frame, talk to the young missy reflected in it. He tries a bit of warlock empathy. As his mind link frames the gift to 'whoever he can see', he tries to connect to the elf on the other side of the reflection.
He is about to say something like
"Hey babe." when he remembers that Tommy is trying to find someone and his search has led him thus far. "Recognise this person? You can link to her maybe. Try it."

Tommy looks at the reflection
"this is interesting... " examines the mirror
"some kind of illusion?...."
Arcana: [1d20+3]=7+3=10
"the person i'm looking for is a female half orc, a warrior type, her name is Aurayaun, her partner Lupeen has been getting pieces of her shield periodically since she disappeared, i think as a taunt i dont know if this mirror is related but they may have kidnapped other people as well, they weren't asking for ransom though so i'm not sure of the motive, doesn't make sense..."
after a moment he continues
"yes, this looks safe enough, so what do we want to do? what do you think?" he looks at his companions wounds
"can you continue? or rather come back, hunker down for a few hours? the corridors didn't seem like they saw a lot of traffic, we could barricade the door, i'm good to continue or regroup if you rather, this thing looks like it'll go for a bit more, i hopped to find the missing person or some clue i dont know if the explosion outside had anything to do with this place or what but i think at least the flaming fist should be occupied..."

"Hey babe." he takes the portrait mirror back and taps in the screen to see if he can capture the attention of the woman reflected.
In regards to exploring, it makes sense to carry on. We could try the eastern door then the open westwards passage.

one is bound in red leather, the second is the color of umber, and the third is of black, scaly reptilian hide.

Interesting. One each for the necromites. "Have your helpful ghost pick them up and out in the satchel." he suggests, just in case touching them triggers some unseen trap.
Do we want to study them now or later? Spell books and rites are not something he specialises in. A bit of history maybe. So either Lesh or Tommy ought to research them.
With no response from the mirror babe, he heads out towards the other room and the next door.

"that makes sense"
Tommy throws his backpack next to the books and brings the unseen servant to have the books packed inside, if nothings happens he picks up his backpack, keeping one out (the red leather bound) to start studying them
arcana check-
Arcana: [1d20+3]=11+3=14
with one last check around the room -
Investigation: [1d20+3]=17+3=20
he commands the ghostly form ahead and begins the exploration again (all the way back to the split room and to the eastern hallway that we haven't explored)
