Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Isn't friendly fire the reason mages travel with clerics? Remember, nothing clears a room like 8d6 of incendiary fun!
Sounds like your kids are having a blast playing D&D, and have some creative ideas! That's awesome that they are getting the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game at a young age.

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Ol Smokey the Dire Bear saying, only you can not feed the Goblins
Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I'm always glad to hear about someone who encourages 'outside the box' thinking. I've dealt with a few GM's who didn't- mostly at cons- and they are the most frustrating MF's I've ever met.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Make it a Bugbear or Owlbear. I was going to type a suggested speech here but nothing made sense for preventing goblin pets. Maybe have a mystic man like from Gremlins remember don't feed goblins after midnight, and whatever you do don't get them wet.

And they would definitely get the Gremlins reference. I am working that into the next story

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I feel like goblin henchmen would be like Gru and his minions. Lol.

This is killing me. You will have to let us know how it goes.
Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Oh my, if you knew Brandon (the 7 year old) you would understand just how accurate that really is!!!GreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 3:44 pm I feel like goblin henchmen would be like Gru and his minions. Lol.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Basically I am playing a standard dungeon hack based very loosely on the Tomb of Horrors with the Lich and all that included. But I am really simplifying it for them and keeping things pg for the most part. Just a nice introductory but I am impressed that they have stuck with it for close to a year now on and off and are still enjoying it.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
That is rather impressive. If only I could get my family to do that. Only one interested is my son almost 11, but I have a feeling if I don't make it "like a video game" he will lose interest rather fast.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
I just started them off asking what kind of person they would want to be if they were making a story staring themselves and we took it from there. We rolled stats and we discussed how to arrange them to best suite their person. The I had them select a Lego Mini fig to be their guy, which they thought was cool. Then I dropped them in with no warning fighting a serpant at the entrance to the dungeon to dod the "tutorial" for combat. After that, they were hooked.

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Somewhat off topic, but does anyone know the bbcode and how to place it so that I can adjust the size of attachments on here? Some of these images are huge and fuzzy and it drives me crazy. I saw where there was some success with [fimg] in one topic under help and support, but it only works for URLs which I hate since images tend to disappear, and attachments are more permanent. Anyone have information?

Re: Off Duty #4 (OOC)
Well I was about to post my question about a work around and like the derpy guy I am, I realized there is a work around after all. So I am giving yall the link here in case you want to look into it for yourself. This will take some doing, but I think I can do a little here and a little there to clean up some of the files for us. Some notorious pictures that I just hate are so big are the ones for Thomas Ten-Chiefs and most Recent the Green Haired Witch.

Plus I just want to try to make things a *little* more organized and uniform.
