OOC
Re: OOC
I fully admit that I'm one of those players that loves "crunch"- designing characters is one of my favorite parts of a game, particularly mixing and matching pieces to see what I can come up with. It's actually one of the things that turned me off SwN at first: I looked at the 3 classes, didn't see much flavor or crunch, and thought it looked boring. But a lot of the character-building comes from picking Foci and the like, but it manages to remain a very easy-to-use system.

Faanku, I'm sure you have a plan on bringing our newest crewmember in, but if the story works best on a particular planet I am sure we can find a reason to be there!

Re: OOC
GM, now that we've rolled Initiative, do our PCs' events happen in that order? Or in the order of posting? For example Talina rolled a 4 and posted (dove over the bar). Lira Bunt rolled a 9, and posted later (leveled her rifle and made a little speech). Which event happened first?

Re: OOC
I will put them together in Initiative order and adjudicate from there.
However the scream and first gunshot (from Hansel) happened at the top of the round, so no matter the Initiative order there was something to react to.

Re: OOC
GM Marullus, to make sure I got it. The scream was in GM's earlier summary, so that happened at the top of the round. Hansel got a 10 for initiative, so that happened at the top of the round. Or did he create the round itself by starting shooting? I ask because I want my posts to accurately reflect how my PC reacts to events that have already happened, and doesn't react to things that haven't happened yet. For example, is he Taavi more worried about the situation with Talina, the one with Hansel, and the shot(s) fired outside the saloon? Which all seem to be happening at virtually the same time.
Sorry everybody, if I'm making this overly complicated. It's getting fun, and I want to make sure I do my part right.

Re: OOC
My setup post was up to the beginning of the round except that Hansel had a held-action declared to shoot the bowler hat man if he drew a weapon (which he could choose to follow through on or not). He chose to do so, then also rolled a 10 initiative so is likely to fire his second shot before anyone else acts in initiative.
For Taavi's perspective:
The card players were all moving into various actions simultaneously.
Sister Anja screamed and pointed at Teo Hrsak.
The bowler hat guy pulled a gun.
The seated Hansel fired twice at him (missing both)
Everyone else then acts in initiative order (both inside and outside, as both are cued by Anja's yell).

Re: OOC
That's clearer for me and those are good questions about initiative. I expanded on my post to include a main action and rolled a skill check for sneak.

Ah I missed it, Happy belated GM Day Marullus!
Re: OOC
I am having great fun, but I don't have a full grasp on what's going on inside the saloon and why...and my character has even less of an understanding.
