And the good news is that both tanks are fine; as are the fuel-leads to the fusion drives. Both appear to have boiled dry over the 4 years the ship has been at rest and the pressure valves have resealed correctly. The inter-tank pumping systems also appear fine as do the cryogenic heat-pumps and thermostats. None of the inner skin looks to have crystalised. And, you can be back inside before the party all exit for the Shareholder's meeting!
Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
if we have a a on board purifier.
Pranit orders unrefined fuel at the speed the purifier can handle.
If not.
Pranit calls for a fill up.
"Captain, since I'm not a share holder, do you need me at the meeting, I can take ship watch, as there have been some happenings lately.

1.75 tons at Cr500/ton = Cr875. Cash on Delivery. A tanker will arrive shortly.

"No, that's fine. I'll fill you in later," Indrani replies.ateno wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 7:43 pm if we have a a on board purifier.

Going over Reven's data, you see the same pattern of behaviour. You are convinced that the Queen was acting as courier for something. Jobs would be taken that were not the best paid or nearest on offer. Layovers would be extended for no reason. and where this occurred, freight was overlooked for speculative cargoes of odd types. e.g. 10-dTons of Portable Unpressurised Toilet Cabins moved to the Belt! That one load paid for the entire excursion that trip. A broker might spot similar oddities but the ridiculousness of that one jumped out.
The navigation pattern where the ship would pass a particular point each time looks to you like some form of evasion...maybe a watcher on the nearby rock to see what else headed that way? Like the perps would duck past the gang estates to get a warning of a tail - not going anywhere but just checking.

Tiberius, Reven, Indrani, Nalani
The door of the room used yesterday has been covered with sheeting and is clearly being repaired and the wall damage in the corridor has been filled but not yet repainted.
The Conference Room at the Hotel starts to fill up. It is a mirror image of that used yesterday. Tiberius and Ngora are already there. Archana arrives with Nalani - a bit refreshed for the break. Her two policemen stay in the corridor after a quick look through the door. The coffee station has been filled and alternatives (Fruit Juice, Water) provided. Cloud Bank has sent one representative only, and Joey Sabbana returns. Neither the Navy nor Charlie Maputo make an appearance.
A quick tot-up of votes present comes to:
...and the Cloud Bank Representative notes (as a point of order) that, in the absence of an agenda I would like to have time to consult with those I represent should any substantive motion be presented. This was billed as a meeting for the receiving of status reports - and a statement of the captain's intended actions.

"So we are meeting also in the light of this mornings Admiralty Court legal announcements regarding the legitimacy of the Navy retaining the shares seized, which by default directly impacts upon this meeting. In accordance with the articles of association, the shareholders in the ship "Queen of the Belt" (or their representatives) are called to an extraordinary meeting to be held on 300-002 at 09:00 in the new Paradise Hotel, Grand Plaza, Sparks Spaceport, Sparks.
Agenda:
Announcement by legal representatives of the Sparks Naval Force
Agree an action plan in the light of that announcement
Rigsby and Sood, Attorneys.
Perhaps we can start with a review of present legal matters and discuss the implications."
Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
Pranit is not in attendance, he is on the ship doing small maintenance and ship watch, due to the recent hack attempts and such.

Ngora
Perhaps I should start.
I have mortgaged by share in the Queen to lodge this claim in the court. I am advised that the entire process of the seizure appears to have failed in the basics and thus the shares should be passed according to the will, not according to the whim of the Navy.
My Lawyers would like to talk through the boarding itself with those from the Navy that were originally involved.
However, their testimony is, apparently, not material although it would give some colour to the arguments - it seems. So if anyone would like to help me there, that would be good.
As to the Queen. Having her in port just means she isn't making money. And I need income or that mortgage will see me lose my share entirely!

Indrani holds up her hand to take the floor. "While the status of shares is a topic that requires further discussion, we will direct our discussion to the Queen's state of repair, and her immediate financial needs."
She pauses for a moment, and then continues. "Nalani, you conducted a hull survey. Can you please tell us what you found?"

Nālani does not stand, but sits up straight, opens her computer and activates the attached Holo-projector. As she speaks it replays images of the damage taken from the suit recordings.
We found a very troubling crack that compromises the integrity of the hull, a hole that exposed the workshop area to vacuum, and several temporarily filled subsidiary penetrations. We patched the hull and hopefully we will make the workshop serviceable today. A proper structural analysis using a densitometer will be necessary to fully understand the extent of the problem the crack represents. If we are lucky new hull plates will suffice. I believe we have the skills to do that ourselves. If we are unfortunate then a shipyard crew will be needed. It will be days at best before the Queen is safe to fly.

Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
I intend to determine that by day's end. When this meeting adjourns I shall return to the Queen and inspect the damage to the workshop area from the inside. If you could authorise the hire of equipment I will arrange for it to be waiting for me. As you can see the extent of the damage is quite limited, my greatest concern is that the frame is compromised beneath the crack. Considering the relatively minor damage we see elsewhere I am hopeful.
There is one thing we could not reach, the thrust-plates. I doubt there is an issue, but we need a grav-platform or safety net to reach them.
Nālani turns to Ngora:
You say that the officers involved in the boarding action are available for questioning? It would make the survey very much easier if they were able to describe what damage they caused and by what means. A missile strike is very different to a collision, ah, "forced docking" for example. While official reports are somewhat lacking even the Navy's report of the incident might prove useful.

Archana
As we are addressing readiness, how Ready are you? Ready to go? Ready to go Tomorrow? Ready to go Next Week?
And what is "Ready to go" anyway? "Ready to Ship Cargo" or "Ready to Carry Passengers"? I mean, the latter might take ages if the government is being anti.
And if not ready to go, how much are you going to have to pay out to go? What do we have available. Because at the moment, she's less "Queen of the Belt" and more "Queen of the Dock".
And if you are going, where will you go and to do what? A fully laden trip to New Earth would be good, but she's been laid up so long anything might break - so a short hop might be prudent even if less profitable in the short term.

Pranit
Sat on the bridge, you can smell the odour of crisping insulation. A quick inspection discovers that the holo projector for one of the ancillary stations goes "Bang" when you try to activate it. Having the cover off shows a board fault - simple to fix. And you head down to engineering to see if the workshop has a spare - the only place that might. Now it's "patched", the workshop is still cold - The patches are leaking heat rapidly since they are uninsulated. However, a search of the lockers reveals the pattern of storage. You are unable to find a replacement part for the holo, but do find bar-stock for the 3-D printer and have a look at getting that going.
Basic EDU/Mechanic roll please

Knowing his only has a basic knowledge in mechanics and not sure with thei model of printer he will double check everything, bring up a manual and read it of the printer and when he feels sure he will start the print.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:48 am Pranit

Mechanic - 3d print[2d6-1] = 10-1 = 9
When he is done, he will check it against the original and scan it against specs on line before he installs it and reboots the station.
Once it appears to be working he will log the work in the engineering log and leave the burnt out part for scrapping or repair, not his job.

Indrani swivels her head to fix Archana in her gaze. "I do believe those are the issues we are trying to address." She turns back to Nalani. "Keep working on it, and give me a total for the repairs when you have it."BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 8:05 am Archana
