Seeking Out The Village People
Godsday, 2nd of Goodmonth
Evening, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Since it appears that the consensus is to head back to town, I will take the liberty of moving this along. Feel free to detail anything you might want to do before leaving the clearing (specifically what you do with the bodies) in your next post. Thanks!
Disheveled, disabled, and slightly disheartened, the group gathers everything looted from the 3 bodies together and readies for their long march back towards Beachtown. Luther and Wes rig up a makeshift travois to transport the unconscious Alordan. Placing the always energetic Monocar at the reigns, the group is soon on their way.
They travel back down the river trail, making it to the beach within an hour, allowing them about 2 or 3 more hours of daylight left for their final 4 hour trek. They cringe when they realize that they won't be reaching Beachtown until after dark. The sickly druids eyes start to water once the insects start swarming again at dusk. He desperately needs rest and knows it won't come out here.
Half way down the beach, with the daylight already starting to wane, the hot sun sets into Azure Sea, creating what might be a beautiful sunset, if the circumstances were a bit less dire. After some more walking, and in almost total darkness, they spot their old friend Pterry again. He is standing at the edge of the treeline, close to where the troll was killed. He is currently ripping apart the carcass of what appears to be a giant lizard of some kind. He is so engrossed in his meal that you can't tell if he has spotted you yet or not.

Monocar F2 7/21

”I have just the spell to deal with this flying brute,” whispers Chauncey to the druid, Wesfaeren, ”Inconveniently, I do not have it currently at my disposal... therefore I feel we had best make for the cover of the trees.”
Re: Quest #12 "Rapping With The Village People"
Wes
"I might be able to speak to it and persuade it to leave us alone" croaks Wes. "But I'd rather not find out. Let's hide".

Lightfinger lingers.
Having taken point as the only uninjured party member, the Tallfellow balks. Do we really want to engage this thing? I mean, right now?

”Not in the least,” says Chauncey, ”Let’s make a run for it, shall we? Into the trees? It can’t get us in there.”

Luther nods quietly, and lends a hand getting the travois under cover.

Seeking Out The Village People
Godsday, 2nd of Goodmonth
Night, Hot, Humid, Buggy
The tired, unconscious, and nearly dead adventurers decide not to press their luck with the giant lizard bird. They skirt around the thing as it devours its meal, though it never even lifts its head or stops chewing as they pass. Despite the tromping of the less than quiet Monocar, the party is able to sneak past the monster unscathed in the darkness. Their worst enemy the rest of the journey is the unrelenting swarms of insects
It is late evening by the time they reach the safety of Beachtown and the entire group is glad that they can put this day behind them. They get Alordan cleaned up the best they can, still unable to find any magical healing for his horrible wound. Fortunately, the poor ranger isn't able to see or feel it himself at the moment.
With little else going on in town at this late hour, the adventurers hammocks and cots seem to almost call out to them.
As always, go ahead and tie up any loose ends that you still may want to do before retiring for the night. There will need to be a great deal of decision making done come morning.

The big man looks up at Luthar after A&W Oh, wow! I just noticed this! If these two don't invent Root Beer for this island I will consider it a personal insult now are settled and seen to. Rubbing his own partially healed wounds he looks over at the grizzled ranger. "Hey, Luthar! You remember when you said to remind you to kick my ass? Can we wait until morning? I'd rather buy us some dinner and a drink and then hit the sack."Urson wrote:Luther

Wes
The druid gasps a huge sigh of relief as he finally makes it back to Beachtown. Before he goes off to sleep, he turns to the rest of the group. "For helping me get back here, you have my thanks, and the thanks of Obad Hai." Wes points to Alordan. "I'll come to see him tomorrow, and give him The Shalm's blessing".
With that, he stumbles off to his hut, drops his pack and face-plants into his hammock. He whispers his eternal thanks to Obad Hai for getting him out of the jungle, and promises that tomorrow, he will begin The Plan Of The Shalm.
Then, finally, he sleeps.

The big Ranger just shakes his head. Let it go, Monocar. Just try to think afore you act from now on, OK?
He shuffles off to his own bed, feeling the toll this hellafied day has taken.

Re: Quest #12 "Rapping With The Village People"
Upon making it back to the settlement in one piece, Chauncey heads straight for his shack, looks around for a suitably sized piece of bark, hustles inside and shuts the door. Removing the magical crayon from his pack, he quickly sketches out the following: a brass brazier embellished with, entirely on a whim, three finely detailed chicken feet, and six delicate pearls:
He then takes the crayon and hurries over to Aavala’s shack, hoping to find him there...Re: Quest #12 "Rapping With The Village People"
Monocar
Monocar will go buy a modest meal at the Treehouse and then go to his cot in the Common House to rest and heal.
Looks at Luthar blankly then smile jovially. "Sure! Gnight, Old Man! See you in the morning."Urson wrote:Luther

Alordan R3 12/18
Thanks Saracen and Wes!
Alordan is "up and at em" in the morning again. The worst of his wounds now healed, he is at least able to move around and make some decisions on what to do next, but he still feels sore and crappy from almost dying yesterday.

Alordan doesn't do much but stare at the ceiling and think of his wound.. think of the Troll and that devastating wound... and what else this island has in store?
... He sighs after quite some time and really is just sincerely grateful for the prayers of healing that have been bestowed upon him.... there is hope after all....

Re: Quest #12 "Rapping With The Village People"
Alordan actually has another 4hp. Wes hit him with a couple of CLWs for 3+1.(I think it's in the Beachtown thread) Wes has another CLW (potentially) to cast. He's just saving his last 2nd level spell in case something bad happens before he goes back to bed

It was my fault. I posted them in a different thread and hid them in spoilers. No wonder you didn't see them.

Lightfinger escorts Wes.
Just go slow, my friend, The Halfling is genuinely glad his Half-Elven roommate is back amongst the villagers. I know you have a story to tell, but you need to recover at this very moment. He looks about after the Druid has positioned himself in his hammock. I sure wish Mr. Saracen was here, too. I always feel safer when he's around.
