In the doorway, Tanner scores two more blind strikes at his opponents. Two strike back, chipping further into Tanner's density-enhanced toughness (-7, -9 HP).
Xale's hammer throws avoid Tanner. The grunts and thuds you hear from the darkness tell you that two of his opponents are now dead.
"Come towards me - step out of the darknesss!" calls Hallagad, stepping forward to take Odilo's place. The paladin's holy sword is like an evil-seeking missile of vengeance. Two mighty swings, powered by Hallagad's magically-enhanced giant strength, hew through his enemy, cleaving it in twain (20 + 28 = 48 pts damage!). The darkness lifts just in time to see two halves of the ape-demon hit the deck separately.
Khogeki takes Rool's place and unleashes a flurry of open-handed punches into the darkness. Most of them find only air, but a few land home. None of the ape's counterattacks come near the nimble monk.
Three ape demons down, three to go. Actions?

Tanner
Tanner continues his defense of the doorway, still learning to work with his new density and slower motions.
att [1d20+2] = 1+2 = 3 THAC0 4
att [1d20+2] = 5+2 = 7 THAC0 4
sword[1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5
He mutters and curses- apparently angry with himself for his awkward attacks.

Hallagad looks briefly to the sky.
"I pray you continue to find me worthy, Pelor!"
He wades into another ball of darkness (preferably one that's occupied) to hunt some demon apes.
Using updated macro, per Zhym's guidance. Does not include damage bonus vs chaotic evil

Tanner awkwardly attacks, his sword flailing blindly in the darkness. Xale adds injury to insult, smacking Tanner with his hammer again (-17 HP). Xale's second throw smashes something in the darkness. Light returns to the room as a battered ape demon corpse collapses to the ground.
In the hallway, the Unseen Servant reaches for the Jade Destiny and Hallagad looks for another evil enemy to totally obliterate. But before they can attack, both spheres of darkness disappear with the popping sounds you know go along with teleportation.
All is quiet again, at least for the moment.

Xale
Xale casts Cure Critical Wounds on Tanner in an attempt to make up hitting him with the hammer (twice).
Cure Critical Wounds [3d8+3] = 13+3 = 16

Tanner
Tanner flexes his shoulders, appreciating the healing. Xale- watch your follow-through when you throw. Don't lock your elbow- it affects the aim.
Tanner flashes a quick, ugly grin at Xale before turning back to the room. How many ape corpses are there?

There are four corpses—three in front of Tanner, and another (well, a couple of ape halves) in the hallway.

Hallagad will enter the ape room cautiously. If nothing attacks him after a minute or so, he will search under the beds looking for clues as to the apes' existence, etc. If he finds nothing, he'll cut open the mattresses too.

Tanner
Tanner slips the ring off his finger, wincing as the wounds he's taken flare up. He moves to the center of the bunkroom, providing security for Hallagad and anyone else who is searching.

Risdac Egargi
Things have gotten quiet all of a sudden. Hopefully that's a good sign. Be ready, just in case.

Searching the room, you find it to be empty of enemies. Still, it's a bit macabre. It's not so much the copious blood stains on the central wooden table, speaking of meals of fresh raw meat eaten savagely, as it is the obscene drawings and unholy symbols carved into the table and smeared on the wall in what has to be blood and—well, you hope the brown is just more dried blood. The aft wall sports one of those stone snakes that seem to be in every room. Near it, the door through which you entered has an iron bar that could be used to bar the door from inside. An iron-bound chest stands against the fore wall.
Tanner slips the ring off his finger, wincing as the wounds he's taken flare up.
Hallagad ransacks the room, looking under beds and cutting open mattresses. There are bits of leftover food, none of which looks like a banana, and piles of scat.
Rool listens at the door to the right. He hears nothing. Checking the door for traps, he finds none.
In the hallway a little ways away and down, Risdac remarks that it has suddenly gotten quiet.

"Tanner, you look a bit sick, do you need some more healing?"

Tanner
I hate to take up all the healing- but I have to admit I'm in a bad way right now.
Tanner sags a bit where he stands, as adrenalin fades and his wounds begin screaming in earnest.

Odilo thinks to himself about that statement of being strong and thinks he was better off back where they came from prior to boarding this ship. "Where to next?" he asks openly closing to the location where everyone else is gathered near the last battle.
