Interrogation Continues
Vernon moves to guard the door to the north. "How long does he stay smoky like that?" AdaRue asks Dorick about Raif. The prisoner replies that he doesn't know, saying it was a potion Raif had been talking endlessly about, but had never used. "It might already be over?"

"You're leaving?" Dorick says with a chuckle after overhearing AdaRue suggest the group return to Brighton. "There might not be anything worth returning for..." he adds.

"Raif isn't going to wait -- and Yara is.... scary. My guess is, they still plan to kill off any remaining goblins without us," Dorick says, indicating the three of them you have captured.

"But, in a way, they would solve your problem... unless you're here for something besides eliminating the goblins?"

All we gotta do is hang out by the exit until this guy's pals kill the goblins and collect all the loot for us. When they come out, we hit 'em from behind and take all their stuff! All the profit, not much risk!"

"You know of any other exits from this place?" he asks Dorick.

Fighting his binds, Dorick motions for Horatio to approach.

"I could help you, you know," he says in a low whisper. "I can't speak for them --" he says, his eyes shifting in the direction of Craimmar and Elowen, "-- but I'm thinking I could get them on board."

AdaRue has already stated her preference to return to Brighton with these three prisoners in tow. She has no patience for people that attack her and her friends. AdaRue whispers to the others that she feels it is very important to get the bottle out of the goblin tunnels, rather than risk losing it to the goblins or Raif.

Vernon agrees that the primary concern is to get back to Brighton. We'll be welcomed as heroes for sending back those women with the Warden. We can return tomorrow and look for more prisoners. Can't find prisoners if we already have prisoners... He crosses his arms triumphantly over his sound logic.

He whispers in reply to Dorick:
"I'd be saying the same thing if I were in your shackles. Throw in with the winners, right? But how do I know you all aren't gonna try to stab us in the back? That's a big risk. What're you offering in exchange?"

"How do I know you all aren't gonna try to stab us in the back? Horatio starts. "That's a big risk. What're you offering in exchange?"

"We'll lead," Dorick offers. "Can't exactly stab you in the back if we're in front of you."
While the above is taking place, AdaRue and Vernon argue for the group to return to Brighton and return later. Horatio interrupts his private conversation to argue that the group press on. ""What, and leave all the loot here for Raif to scoop up all easy-like? No way!" he protests. "Sounds like there's not much of the caves left, anyway... now that everyone's moving again, let's go kill those jerks while they're hurt!"


In the distance, the wolf barking and snarling continues to be heard.

has anyone checked their pockets, etc for any vials of potions?

oh, and let's load up the magic tipped arrows and get ready to go out in a blaze of glory... This was what Sacro Fissial was born for.

Not normally, no, but given where we are, you'll know they are potions of healing.

"Healing: The imbiber of this potion regains damage equal to
1d6+1 hit points. This potion also cures paralysis. This potion
can only be quaffed in total for affect."

I guess we either need to do A or B...
Junius and Sacro would both fight to the end to defeat Raif and the king. However, if anyone wants to split the party beforehand, they will both instead go back to town and retire.

He cuts Dorck's bonds. "I should probably kill you, but what the hell, maybe you can help us. Jerk like Raif is, I bet you'd be even happier than me to put a blade in his gut. Can the other two be trusted, or should we do 'em?"

Keebler shakes his head. "I will not join you in a quest for riches and murder," he says. "We have accomplished our mission. We found what was poisoning the water and stopped it. I will return to town with the tainted magic vessel and any who wish to come with me."

Return of an Enemy
"Enough talking! We're wasting time while Raif gets all the loot." Horatio proclaims, frustrated with the inactivity. "C'mon, let's go get 'em!" he says while begins to cut Dorick free from his bonds. "I should probably kill you," he says to the prisoner, but keeps cutting. "What the hell, maybe you can help us. Jerk like Raif is, I bet you'd be even happier than me to put a blade in his gut," he says, completing the release.

"Can the other two be trusted, or should we do 'em?" Dorick, rubbing his wrists, is confident he can get his other companions to comply. "If not, I'll kill 'em myself," he adds.


Just as Keebler was about to announce his intentions, a gentle knocking sound is heard coming from the closed doors to the north. The door opens slowly, and a familiar voice is heard before the actual source of the voice is seen: "Kill who yourself?"

Raif enters, arms raised, with his large two-handed sword strapped to his back. He stares at Dorick.

"Parlay? he asks in a much less confident and snarky tone as employed previously. He cautiously takes a step into the room, with Yara sneaking in closely behind him.

Horatio snorts a short laugh. He answers Raif but keeps his eye on Dorick in case of a trick. "Well, you, of course. Last time we talked we wasn't talking so much as trying to kill each other. Why are you here with your 'Parlay' now?"
