On Monday, I will bump the clock forward from 19 August to 30 August. If you want to depart before then please finalize and announce so I can make your threads. :)

Crud. I'm leaving for the weekend!

Clay Waxweather is leaving on 19 August. He will be accompanied by:
Clarabelle, ranger of Beith
Morr, the dog
Maurice, the pygmy owl
Bianca, elfish witch of Beith
Willow, druid of Beith

Maybe a couple others if they state their intent. (Greywolf?)

Clint is probably going to tag along. Although now that I look it, that's a lof of followers of Beith for a paladin of Freydis to hang out with. Clint probably doesn't mind, though, and nothing better is presenting itself.

Depends where are you lol Gaul? Then sure Smoglea will go he's just a little shy and not big on crowds and loud noisy taverns. If you would like smoglea to accompany you Rusty I'm up for it.

Sure. Never hurts to have a halfling to go scouting. And Clint is welcome. I'll leave Berra behind then, unless someone else wants to recruit her.

This bunch should be ready to go on the 31st (giving Winnie time to copy spells, with an extra day so Fingers can have Pierpont spend a week researching his sword):
  • Fingers
  • Bandy
  • Markd
  • Hengist
  • Winnie
  • Sprinkles (Fingers's Dog) (NPC)
  • Mrs. Dash (Winnie's Dog) (NPC)
  • Mitch the pony (NPC)
  • Buttercup the mule (NPC)
  • Elmer (Fingers's Mule) (NPC)
I assume we need to recruit Franken (the Man-at-Arms) and Allmond again? Does that require a charisma roll? And can Winnie make that roll (she has the highest charisma of the bunch, right)?

I think Able, Pendleton, and the templars should be ready to go on the 30th.

Markd has a warhorse that he can take, though not sure when it would be useful, versus allowing the animal to gain xp in adventures.
Also, ooc, the maps should be available to us on Monday or shortly thereafter . That might determine where we actually go.

Is there a reason Able and Pendleton cannot go earlier? Winnie has 10 days in town from when they got back on the barge. That should be enough time for him to teach one spell and learn the others.

In light of the werewolf attacks, and Clay's assumption that Maelenor has a Geas set on him (based on the stories coming back and Willow's conversation in the Sacred Grove)... It seems Neegan will need a bunch of help taking that orb East. Is it crazy to abandon that mission right now and head east with the dwarf?

Pendleton is the holdup. He spent all the time until August 19 researching the magic pitcher (on his own gold piece(s), BTW, in case anyone wants to reimburse him*), then he needs 10 days to copy spells. In retrospect, it might have been better to copy spells instead of researching the pitcher, but here we are.

Are you suggesting Able and Pendleton abandon the mission to the demon hole to go find the wolf? Yeah, I think that's kind of crazy. The demons coming out of that labyrinth are kind of a threat, too. And right next to town.

* But, then, Pendleton's research is making Able stay an extra 10 days, so I guess we're all even on that.

I'll be straight with everyone my halfling doesn't care whom he helps out. Galmit my dwarf however is much more inclined to aid a fellow dwarf than he is anyone not a dwarf. Just throwing it out there. Neegan was the first to claim to want Galmit to help him. Granted it was ooc by Dram on here and in a pm.

Zhym: Got a shopping list for Fingers' expedition? Hengist has gold and should probably buy at least some more sacks and food for how long? Any special requests?

I have no idea what we'll find out there, but more undead is probably a decent guess. Oh, and gargoyles.

We have three maps worth of destinations plus another tower, so I'd stock up on food. We'll have pack animals, so we should be able to load up on food when we set out. I don't think three weeks of rations would be excessive.

Too bad we don't have a source for magic arrows.

Pendleton: I thought I offered to pay Pendleton some coin for that. How much did he spend? Able will cover half, as long as that isn't more than 25gp. I'd like to make as much holy water as I can.

I was talking about Clay going with Neegan, not Able.

Fingers: doesn't a clerical blessing count for that? He could pay the Temple for it prior to leaving town. But if we leave from Idmi and travel East, we should about the gargoyles city, right?

Pendleton paid 2 gp 8 sp for lodging over 28 days and 14 gp for good meals. Chip in whatever you think is fair, considering he'd have to pay to eat and sleep somewhere anyway. But the real cost is opportunity cost: Pendleton could have researched for hire instead. The going rate for that from Pierpont is 50 gp per week for two checks per week with a 60% chance of success. Pendleton only gets one check per week and his chance of success is about 25%-30%, though, so a fair rate for Pendleton's work is probably about 12 gp/week (although if he tries to hire out his services, he'll probably work on contingency).

Anyway. Long-winded way of saying whatever you feel like contributing would be appreciated.

Fingers: Does the 50gp fee cover all weapons, including arrows? That would mean a bow user would get +1 to the bow and +1 to the arrows. I don't feature Marullus allowing that. It's a good idea, though (if only the blessing lasted longer).

I will allow it to give one +1 total, across bows and arrows, but for 48 hours they will hit magical creatures. (It doesn't add onto an already magical item, only augmenting the ordinary ones.)

Oh: so with the narrative around the Orb changing, Clay is going to change his course of action for now. Clay and now entourage will join up with Neegan, et al. Smoglea and Tollander are welcome to join him. Zhym is right about Smoglea's sword being a good match for the Vault/Orb expedition, I think. Any chance of convincing Clint to join up for another mid level-ish fighter?

Marullus, what date (roughly) is all the werewolf information reaching Clay? I'd it is before August 19, Clay would want to head out with Neegan near that date.

At this point I guess i don't care which expedition to join I was just going initially by first come first serve Dram wanted my dwarf not my halfling and expressed so in a pm and on here sort of. My halfling which I could have held off on rolling is here not and yes has a cursed sword falls into character concept really. He has no reason not to help whatever expedition will have him. Unfortunately my dwarf has a personality trait where he is very much thinking that humans should deal with their own problems where as if a dwarf or non-human asks his help he is much more inclined to aid them especially a fellow dwarf above all that is a RP issue not a game issue.

Okay then. I didn't understand how a geas worked. Apparently it is all about making it your top priority. So Clay is, indeed, going north. Sorry Neegan.

Let's have Smoglea go north too. :)

When he was reincarnated. He has to unstopper the well of the worlds, which is the source of the Morlock's experiments. It is Beith's conduit into this world and was corked up by the Wardens centuries ago. He's been trying to venture north ever since, but the only expedition he's been on was only a day long for various reasons, including Spearmint leaving for a trip.
