Cwreando wrote:"Arastor, do the tracks indicate which path is used more", Whispers Bandir? "IF so that should be our path. IF not then we can go left or straight."
Arastor checks the tunnel entrances to see if one is more used than the others. If there doesn't appear to be one that is favored over the others, Arastor will suggest trying the middle tunnel first.

The cave floor is of harder materials than the forest was and gives the ranger no good indication as to which way is used more than the others.

Sorry about this The passages thus far are only wide and tall enough for single file movements the three split off passages are the same except for the one straight ahead it widens as the group goes down it widening to a little more than two by two can walk down it. just realized I had forgotten to state the tunnel passages size so that you all knew how your battle or travelling formations would be.

Bandir will follow in normal order so the big fighters go first. Bandir keeps his bow drawn but relaxes his pull from time to time to keep his arm from tiring. He tries to be as quiet as possible.

Mathias continues ahead in his spot, keeping track of the distances and direction of their forward path and watching the rock wall for any thing interesting.

The ranger signals to the party that he has picked up something ahead using hand signals to indicate he can hear something ahead. The passage ahead indicates that it opens up into a cavern or underground "room". What the ranger has seen or heard the party being 10' behind him cannot tell.

Bandir signals the rear of the group to be quiet and still using hand signals. Bandir signals to the Ranger to scout ahead a few more feet to identify his targets then come back and relay the information quietly or non verbally.

Arastor slowly returns to the group making sure as to make no noise. In a quiet voice he tells the others, "What we have is a pair of owlbears taking a nap. Now is the best time to take them out but we will have to do it quickly so as not to arouse them and have them warn whatever else is in this cave."

Arthur chimes in "Fascinating you know if there are two of them there may be a nest owlbear do live in mating pairs. So if you kill them you may well kill their young if they have unhatched eggs or cubs. Are they called cubs?" he says in a whisper so as not to awaken the creatures and then kind of trails off in thought.
