Happy Dad's Day to all too. Hope you are having a great one.

I consider that to be "rather" new.dmw71 wrote:Hunclay has actually been in Belhaim for seven years.Alethan wrote:He's rather new to this area, isn't he?
As opposed to, say, 50 years.

Cool. I just wanted to point out that he didn't just wander into town, and that he's been here a while.Alethan wrote:I consider that to be "rather" new.

Re: OOC II
Nice role-playing in the action thread, guys.
We'll move again once you formally agree on a course of action (e.g. stay and explore further now, wait until tomorrow so the casters can memorize different spells, etc...).

Re: OOC II
Just for the sake of clarity, do you Brits (Sam and Kester) mean the main floor when you say "upstairs"? Or do you mean the first floor (what Americans would call the second floor)?
Unless I missed something completely, there is nonce but a library and observatory up the stairs. I don't think there was any indication of other rooms.
That said, I absolutely feel that it is important to get different people in all the rooms. I may have missed something in the descriptions that was a clue or indication of something important. And maybe that is the case in other rooms, as well.
I say we all head up to the library.
But I just wanted to make sure you weren't talking about a better examination of the main floor.

Re: OOC II
I meant upper floor - ie 1st/2nd..non-ground as I think we have done most of the ground level. As it seems pretty clear there isn't too much up there, how about we give it a quick once over then decide if we want to tackle the basement?
Especially as I think we're all up there already!

Re: OOC II
In Britain the ground floor is the floor level with the ground. The basement or cellar is the floor below ground level. Upstairs is the floor up the stairs above the ground floor (usually the top floor. Unless you are posh and own a mansion/have an attic)

Re: OOC II
Actually, I just went back and checked my original post describing the area in your private forum and, sure enough, I failed to mention that the room has two doors in it -- one one the west wall and another on the east. So, there are those.Alethan wrote:Unless I missed something completely, there is nonce but a library and observatory up the stairs. I don't think there was any indication of other rooms.
Totally my bad!

Re: OOC II
Today is my first day at a new position (at the same company). Not sure yet what the impact will be on US forum posting, but most likely it will be "less posting during normal work hours" for some time.
I should still be good for the required posting rate, though it will probably be later in the day or evening hours.

Nice one Ethan - hope it turns out as well as you hope. Is it a promotion or something completely different?

Completely different, Sam.saalaria wrote:Nice one Ethan - hope it turns out as well as you hope. Is it a promotion or something completely different?
Been with the same company for 14 years now. Spent 10 of those years doing technical writing. Decided to change it up a bit. Instead of being the last part of the software release, I'm moving to the head of the class and joining the Usability team. Work with our Members (customers, but we're actually a coop, so they have a vested interest in our success and are considered Members) to make sure the software we are designing is built the way they need to use the software and not the way our programmers and designers think it needs to be built.
Involves lots of creative thinking, problem solving, and outside-the-box sort of stuff. Right up my alley.
More of a lateral move right now, so no immediate pay changes. But I was capped out as a senior technical writer - hadn't had anything like a raise in three or four years. As a usability analyst, I'm at the bottom of the pay scale ladder again, so there is lots of room for growth and advancement.

Anyone heard from Dave? He's MIA, not his MO, IMO.
Seriously, though, hope all is OK.

No.
I asked the same thing in the private thread and haven't heard anything back yet.

All is good. I do need to admit that keeping up with three high-paced games during the week is pretty, so I've started to completely stay off the board over the weekends. I meant to check in yesterday, but.. well... didn't. I will work on catching up in all my games tonight and tomorrow.
Sorry for the delay.
In other news, while it's no longer my edition of choice, I was super excited when this e-mail came in an hour ago: D&D Players Handbook (1e) now available in PDF!

Re: OOC II
I'm back.
I have a lot of catching up to do today with work, and have a consultation meeting tonight which will probably take several hours (or all my free time), so expect my games to update tomorrow.
Thanks!

So, you're looking to become an Amway salesman on top of your busy schedule?
