As Belloc works on dismantling the magical item they've just found, Ceana sets her burning torch to the black mould on the floor. It sizzles and burns, giving off a cloud of noxious vapors that makes her cough through her face covering, causing her eyes to water horribly. Can I get a Save vs. Death, please? :?

Kainaxarthos looks over the rest of the cells, unwilling to enter any, worried about more rats. He too starts to feel weird from the noxious cloud growing out of the blistering mold.

Xenos suggests the afflicted try eating one of the plucked petals, just as Belloc peels the twelfth and last one from the cones heart. The mage wracks his brain trying to remember anything else he can about them, but the only thing that pops into his mind is that the petals must be eaten once they are plucked, less they lose their potency. He is certain the heart of the cone heals wounds, he isn't sure if it cures other maladies, however. (at least I can tell none of you are looking in the book)

Drest

"We need to get out of here now."

He heads back out the way they came.

I randomly rolled one a month or so ago for some treasure in my FTF Hyperborea game. They haven't found it yet. But I do know what it does, that said I assume Drest doesn't and will play it that way.

Belloc
"In cases such as these, a partial dose may prove as ineffective as no treatment at all. And, to be frank, the resources at our disposal here are far from ideal for precise dosage determination. I recommend that whoever has more advanced symptoms should consider taking the complete dose—both the heart and the petals. Meanwhile, we can maintain our search in the hopes of discovering another source during our exploration. Drest, did you happen to come across anything similar during your initial excursion to these ruins?"

Death save 14: [1d20+2]=6+2=8

Ceana coughs and gags and staggers backward, falling to her knees.

Taibhse

Hearing the ruckus in the room the Celt moves back towards the room where the noises are coming from. Assessing the situation. He points at the coughing Ceana "poisons I can help with, were those two poisoned", holding his breath and going in to draw Ceana out of the smoke. He will pull Ceana back and set to work minimizing the damage. He will set about getting out his devices, the rattles, pipes, lighting the incense and mixing a drink of honey and water for Ceana. Then he proceeds the ritual of healing.

Ceana: Heal Disease/Poison Ritual vs 9 for known or 5 vs unknown: [1d12+1]=3+1=4

I believe that should help Ceana

Taibhse

If these other two were bitten and it is a poison I can attempt to draw it, what bit them?

Drest

Drest will help get everyone out of the room. Then,

"We were bitten by rats, whatever nastiness they carry. I think Ceana breathed in some of that black burning stuff."

Kainaxarthos

He moves to help Ceana out from the cell area with Taibhse. "Are you ok?" He asks Ceana warmly. "Thanks for...whatever it is you're doing, Taibhse."

Kain gives him room and watches the smoke from the mold, trying to determine if it has found another, unknown, exit.

Xenos stays on guard between the two doors while Taibhse does his healing ritual.

I also have Draw Poison, but I was thinking that doesn't cover diseases like bubonic plague or whatever these rats have.

Akhilleus also keeps mounting guard. He will not, under any circumstances, approach the place where the dust was burnt.

Correct.

Draw Poison wouldn't be effective on disease caused by a sick animal.

Yes, but since my character did not witness what bit them he needed to ask to get that information. Ceana he saw succumbing to the smoke.

Still unsure of what he speaks, Beloc now suggests that the cone Akhilleus found, and that he himself recently dismantled, should be eaten entirely, heart, petals and all, by one single afflicted person.

A green faced Ceana limps back up the stairs after inhaling the back mold spores when she deliberately burned it with her torch. Kain rushes along, catching her as she nearly faints on the steps. Seeing his queue, Taibhse begins a ritual, pulling out rattles, incense, and pipes as he chants over the ailing woman. Those on guard watch as the color slowly returns to Ceana's pretty face while the Shaman of the shared gods of Raven and Mordezzan continues his ritual. It takes several moments to complete, giving Kain time to investigate elsewhere.

Fortunately, the mold doesn't continue burning, allowing the groups sapient cleric to follow the smoke it made along the ceiling, into the second cell on the left, eventually disappearing through an otherwise unseen seem in the back wall of the cell. Looking at the seem a little closer, it appears to make up the shape of a concealed door.

Ceana

The druid tries to sit up, grabbing hold of Taibhse's shirt. Her eyes watering and her throat raw from the mold, she croaks out a "Thank you, my new friend," and then, with his help, pulls herself into a sitting position.
"Wh--wach...what happened?"

Sik turns to Drest. "I suppose it is only fair that as the senior member of the party, you should take it," he says, trying to convey strength, although he shivers slightly as the sickness begins to set in. "I will manage."

one of the infused fruits each should help but if you prefer i can save them for a later need
he keeps the fruits on the table waiting for the afflicted to take them but if they don't he'll save them and follow the group

Kainaxarthos

He nods to himself, pleasantly surprised that his thought worked out. "Hey. There's a hidden door in one of the cells, the only way forward." Kain announces as he comes back to the group.

"Good to see you back up Ceana. That mold didn't agree with you. Do you think you can continue on?"

To Ceana You were inhaling some kind of smoke and it was having a visible effect on you. Some kind of poison, not sure where the smoke came from, but I jumped in and Raven has seen worthy to extend your life.
