Odilo humming to himself a bit loudly starts to grow impatient or perhaps curious "So whats the hold up there you big strong men cannot open the thing?" then he reaches into the bird seed bag takes out a small handful of seed chews it in his mouth a bit and opens his mouth Cyril the bird hops out onto the mages arm and does so util he is the proper height to eat the seed out of Odilo's mouth.

"Looks like a trap to me - I reckon something will come out of those rather thn requiring anything to go in them!" Skarlos stands back a bit and against the wall to be out of the line of expected fire.

Urdak peers into the odd shaped slots. His past adventuring eventually taught him a few cautionary measures, so instead of sticking his hand in, he draws forth his broadsword and pokes in the end in an attempt to discover how deep it is.

Quinn checks the door for traps.

Bagrin steps back and well out of the way as Urdak measures the slots with his sword and as Quinn checks over the door. "Whoa there, my friends. Have a care now for those of us who desire to live through this insanity." His wry smile, however, indicates his total approval of their actions, even as he pulls his daggers out and guards behind the party.

Quinn checks the door for traps, but finds nothing odd about the door—other than the three slots, of course.

Urdak pokes a sword into one of the holes. The sword goes all the way in, to its hilt. Urdak withdraws his sword. It seems undamaged.

Odilo once the bird is done feeding from his mouth spits out whatever was left of the seed the bird Cyril flies over to what everyone else is messing with and it pecks the at the slots. "What on earth are you doing Cyril?"

"Don't see any traps," Quinn reports. "To be safe, everyone stand back while I open it."

Once everyone has backed up a few paces, Quinn will open the door.

Everyone stands back. Quinn approaches the door and notices that it has no handle. He pushes the door, but might as well have pushed on a mountain. The door doesn't budge.

Ae'll givn ya a hand, Urdak flexes his biceps a moment or two and does a quick crab pose before assisting with the door.

Urdak lends his considerable strength to the task. The door remains unmoved.

"My good fellow Urdak, you must not have had the proper breakfast this morning. Er. lunch? Dinner? What time of day is it, anyhow?" Bagrin starts counting on his fingers, then gives it up with a shrug. "Three holes, like keyholes..." He then looks the door over to see if there is a locking mechanism that might be picked. If so, he goes about it.

OOC: Wondering, do we need to find three special keys to fit the three holes?

Bagrin sees no locking mechanism. The slots in the door are about 9" tall—big enough to slide a broadsword into, as Urdak verified. If there are keys to fit the slots, they must those oversized "key to the city" keys.

Quinn draws his sword and offers it to Odilo, sincerely hoping that he gets the weapon back.

Odilo "Well I have a theory that if we have three swords with long enough blades we stick them blade first into the slots and it acts like a key. Shall we try?" he takes Quinn's sword and demonstrates sliding it blade first into the middle slot.

Bagrin offers the use of his short sword, though he states with a grin that he's not sure if it's "long enough."

Skarlos shakes his head at what he sees as a poor jest. He stays flat to the wall.
