Caradoc takes his turn and tests the wall again, finding it to be ever solid. Kordrak laments that this seems to be an impossible obstacle and suggests looking for clues to opening the gate the "right" way.

Then, Akrisios suggests that perhaps only this section of the wall is real, and that the only mysteriously materializing wall extending over the cliff side is an illusion.Grae suggests firing an arrow, but Zosime has a better idea which won't consume precious ammunition.

To test it, Zosime picks up a rock and throws it towards the portion of the wall hanging off the cliff, positioning herself such that it has not materialized into view for her. As expected, the rock sails past where the wall would be.

Taking a further step, she picks up another rock, this time close enough that she can see the wall hanging off the cliff, and throws another rock - and the rock, rather than striking the wood, vanishes into the wall without a sound, until a second later she hears the faint sound of the rock striking the cliffs below.

Added a little extra to Zosime's action just to move things along.

Grom asks Dreary to try his luck a second time, convincing the bird that the extensions of wall are clearly fake and he should be able to fly over or around it with ease now.

"Anyone got a rope and hook? Maybe we could just toss it over the top to navigate this thing."

"I don't have any rope or a grappling hook, but it is a good idea."

How high is the wall - I am sure we already checked but I cannot remember, sorry.
Maybe one of us could climb it with the rope, and then tie it up for the others to climb?

The last time we tried going over the wall it just got higher. Likely an illusion and maybe we could try disbelieving this time but something to consider.
