Bugs

He tugs at Daliedhur and moves back around the corner, out of sight of the nasty man. "Back up!"

Possibly bumping into Keya, he tries to get everyone to retreat. Failing that, he will try to slip past them and retreat first.

Dice aren't working in our favor right now. I'm trying to salvage this. Ignore that Bugs is the voice of reason.

Crobeus - Human Paladin

Regaining consciousness after Renna's healing, Crobeus shakily gets back on his feet. Seeing the zombies going elsewhere, presumably to fight his companions, the weary paladin rejoins the fray. If he is close enough to engage one with his sword, he will do so. If not, he will throw a spear at one.

Pimlan at his point decides to move back into the room with the chimney at the very least he can climb part way up and wait to listen if it is safe to exit top side.

One Short Of A Baker's Dozen
Desperate Times Call For Dog Biscuits
Early Afternoon, Warm Clear

Outside

After just climbing up the cliff wall, Renna starts her way back down, hoping to help the unconscious Paladin below. Gyb bulls a large rock back to the edge of the ledge, rolling it down to crush the ground the zombies just vacated on their way to the cave mouth. Meinhardt reiterates the fact that someone should get the staff away from the red priest below. Hoping to accomplish this task, he lights a stick on fire.

Stobart stands tall, speaking to the priest in red with great courage. The handsome man chuckles at his comment about the groups cohesion right before he spots Renna shimmying back down the ledge towards Crobeus. "I am happy to continue our talk traveler, but if you will excuse me for a moment....." Basically turning his back to Stobart, the man suddenly takes a few steps towards Renna's position before casting a spell in her direction. Can I get a Save vs. Spells (at -2) from Renna, please? :?

Inside

Almost as expected, Pimlan starts to climb back up the chimney for the third time now......or is it the fourth? Arpad almost starts to laugh at the redundancy of it all. "Hey! You forgot to take your little buddy!"

Daliedhur is unable to help in the combat, but he and Ithrandir are finally successful in getting Keya to step forward to help with the skeletons. Unfortunately, he isn't much help at all when the undead ignore his command completely. Two more Gnolls fall while a pair of Skeletons are also dropped by the front ranks which fill in fast. Bugs calls for the group to back up, getting a rather perturbed look from Tammuz, who plows his way forward to back up his pack. Then a horrible smelling cloud of vapors suddenly appears at the front of the combat, enveloping Daliedhur and Keya both, while also affecting the Gnolls and Tammuz as well. I will need a Save vs. Poison from you both in order to act. If you pass, the only thing you can do is flee the cloud.

With their bows at the ready, Magdal and Ithrandir turn to face the direction they heard Loyn shouting, awaiting any danger that might come from up the steps. There is no sight of the dwarf however, as he moved back to where the zombies are starting to enter the cave, begging the Gnolls for more of their dried plants they were chewing on. Once he gets the plants chewed up and the juices really start flowing, he pops his prized magical dog biscuit into his mouth as well, unsure what the outcome of such a brazen action might be. The Gnolls watch in terror as the Dwarf's stubby body starts to change and grow before their very eyes, also startled when the Zombies outside start coming inside. I will need a Save vs. Poison from Loyn. please. :?

Meinhardt
Image

He watches Gib as the monk pushes another large rock upon the zombies below, but it is also at that moment he realizes the sounds of combat had subsided, suggesting Crobeus had fallen. Assuming the zombies continued on towards the cave and away from the oil he hurled into their midst, he alters his plan, instead moving to the ledge and throwing his remaining flask of oil at the death priest.

[1d20]=9

When he notices the death priest's back is to Stobart, Meinhardt attempts to distract the man's attention by simultaneously ordering his unseen servant to ignite the oil he hurled two rounds before.

Unable to resist the noxious vapors, Daliedhur stumbles against the wall, retching - "Run Cinder... Run!" - is all he manages to say.

Ithrandir runs from the obnoxious gas and towards the entrance, where the zombies are coming through. He won't be able to attack, but changes from bow to sword.

Renna

Save vs Spell (12): [1d20]=10
It was stated that this was at -2, and while she has a possible +2 from a 16 WIS this is fail.

If this is not a Hold Person, she will try to heal the Paladin, of course if she is held...

Bugs

Bugs races back to the library to have a quick chat with Arpad. "Hey. We're fighting our way out the front. Are you coming? It may be a while before we make it back."

"I know it's not a heroic rescue, but an escape is an escape. Right?"

IF she agrees, Bugs will escort her out. After checking a book out from the library.

IF she declines, Bugs will shrug and go up the chimney. "See you later!"

Sure could, but he moved a little further from the ledge before casting, so 10 feet or so away at this point.

The results will be determined by initiative order, as usual.

Stobart

As the priest turns away from him Stobart tries to smack him on the back of his head with his staff

If Stobart goes first he'd wait until the priest is facing away from him before attacking, he'd only be trying because he turns away. I'll roll dice anyway

Staff: To-hit [1d20]=10; dmg [1d6]=5

Gyb

Gyb removes his last javelin from his quiver. He looks to his right, as the zombies block the cave mouth. To his left, Crobeus down, Stobart bewitched and Renna about to be ensorcelled as well. Only one shot? Where will it do the most good.

Gyb turns towards the cave mouth. Then, from the corner of his eye, he sees the cleric of Fharlanghn lash out at the death priest. Gyb, disciple of Fharlanghn, knows then what his target must be.

He takes a deep breath, adjusts his grip, takes three great strides forward and launches the javelin on a high parabola through the air. The moment it leaves his hand, time seems to slow down. Gyb sees the sunlight glint off the metal tip as the javelin arcs down towards the priest.

Poison vs. 10 [1d20]=11

Keya hacking from the fog cloud, turns and looks at people running and Magdal firing her bow.

"Magdal, we need to run, come on, out of the gas."

Keya steps out of the gas and stands guard and will shoot incase someone lunges for her.

One Short Of A Baker's Dozen
Desperate Times Call For Dog Biscuits
Early Afternoon, Warm Clear

Outside

Like an aboulomanic gopher, Pimlan pokes his soot covered head up above the chimney once again, witnessing all the things happening outside the caves. He sees the last of the zombies moving inside the cave mouth with Stobart and another red robed man interacting nearby as well.

Meinhardt, still up above the madness, sends his magical energy mass floating down below while carrying his burning stick along with it. He chucks another flask at the approaching Priest, missing him and Stobart, as the Unseen Servant lights the puddle of oil on the ground near the fallen Paladin.

When Stobart takes his opportunity to clobber the trusting Priest who turned his back on him, all he hears is his staff hitting metal armor under his blood red robe. Once his spell is finished, Stobart watches in horror as Renna, who just started climbing down the ledge, completely stops moving. As she plummets the 20 feet to the rocky ledge below, she lands next to Crobeus with a thud, neither of them moving again. 6 dam

The Priest turns back to Stobart with a perturbed expression. "And here I thought the two of us were getting along so well." He sighs heavily. "Since it has become dreadfully obvious to me that your group is unprepared to.....well.......do.....anything to stop us, what do you suppose I must now do to yo....." The Priests warning is suddenly cut short when Gybs javelin rips through his left shoulder, penetrating cloth, steel, and flesh, before exiting halfway through the man's body. This precise shot does not only stop the man mid sentence, it also causes him to stagger forward, momentarily dropping the staff he held in his left hand. With about 30 nearby Skeletons one short climb from being close enough to join the fight, Gyb's miracle shot could not have come at a better time.

Inside

Bugs moves back into the dark library, trying to convince Arpad that everything is going just fine. She doesn't look so convinced, hesitating at his offer of escorting her from the cave. "Listen. I finally got these deplorables to trust me, and right now I'm the only thing keeping the captives inside here alive. So unless you already have the necromancers head on a sword, I better stay put down here. And I can tell by the way you are slowly moving towards the chimney, like your little friend who just left....again, I don't think you even believe your own words at the moment."

Inside the cloud of noxious vapors, Daliedhur can do nothing but retch, barely able to send his feline friend away from the threat. Keya doesn't help him, instead rushing from the cloud before he too becomes immobile. The overcome Gnolls inside the danger zone are quickly killed by the remaining Skeletons, who don't seem to have any issues with the green mist. Fortunately, Tammuz is also able to resist the effects, grabbing onto Daliedhur as he too pulls back from the melee, dragging the elf along with him. They cough and spit, unable to do anything else until they can catch their breath again. While the Skeletons advance from the deadly mist, you hear the evil bastard responsible for all this calling from beyond the green haze. "HEY! Where is everyone going? Don't you want to see the miracles I've performed on your friends?" Keya moves out in front of them, on his way to help the others, but he also needs to take a second to get his bearings after the minor poisoning.

Unaffected by the cloud, Ithrandir and Magdal rush up the steps toward the exit, rounding the corner to witness something they can't quite believe. Their comrade Loyn, or whatever is left of him, seems to be changing right before their very eyes. The Dwarf's body morphs and twists, transforming into something you can't quite explain. Initially he looks like a huge hairy dog or wolf of some kind, but with his stocky dwarven features, he ends up looking more like a stubby mangled bear.
dwarfbearwolf.jpg
dwarfbearwolf.jpg (46.49 KiB) Viewed 646 times

Suddenly filled with rage as the magical transformation runs its course, somehow healing his wounds completely, Loyn stands on his back legs and swings both clawed paws at the lead Zombie entering the cave, basically ripping the undead threat into three rotting pieces that he quickly discards on the floor of the cave to reach out for the next target. The two Gnoll guards watch this all transpire with bulged eyes, stabbing out at the Zombies as they enter, killing a second wounded monster, leaving 4 more to contend with. Everyone who has arrived in this area can now make attacks.
