Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Is there any remnant of black pudding from what was scraped off of some of us in the hallway? A little blob perhaps?

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
You can collect a piece from blob that sizzled on miners or Sir Dewey if you are careful enough.

Gideon
I'd like to collect a small blob using something (e.g. spear handle, damaged tool, old torch) and place it on the side of the coffer to see if that invokes some sort of change in the water.

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
The inert blob floats like a lump of fat. It makes no change to water or blob.

Is anyone in Crypt B, the one with the figure stepping out of the wall?

Sir Dewey
Notes to self that Spearmint is maybe a bit trigger-happy to have people experiment.
That was less than thirty minutes between suggestion and implementation.
Before Sir Dewey can stop, let alone be aware of, Sven jumping into the coffer, yet another member is gone. "Damnation! Stop that! Ok, ok, what do we know? The lid wasn't on this time, so it's something else."
"Gerdal! What's the deal with Smokie? The familiar? Does it need to maintain a certain distance? Or what happens when the master changes planes?"
The Paladin ponders the situation for clues, focusing on the submersion aspect. Wis (13): [4d6]=16
"Do we have any way to transport something and then identify the location of where it went? There should be a spell like that to find misplaced items."

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
I feel like I should point out that Sven only mentioned the idea in dialog, to gage the others reactions.
Can Amos jump in too?

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
It is maddening. You find no clues or answers, it drives you mad thinking over it. Entering the waters is madness. If indeed the sarcophagus is a baptistry bath / pool implement, what does baptism signify? Dying to One's self? Commitment to a religious cause? An outward act of an inner repentance and vocation? The Paladin ponders the situation for clues, focusing on the submersion aspect.
actions everyone please.

Gideon
"Perhaps the murals in the other room with the thing stuck in the wall will provide some clue? Weren't they some sort of ritualistic scene??? What in the nine hells is going on!?"

Good idea, lets go investigate them.
Cosmo will give them a good going over
In my stress induced quickness, I messed up and rolled twice, but i made it the first time with incorrect numbers
Thinking about murals and connections vs int(160) [4d6]=15
2nd roll with correct annotations

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Isvand speaks up Well, we did already go into a tapestry.... but it wasn't a tapestry of evil....

I will update on any search or investigation of that room.Good idea, lets go investigate them.

do you mean the Mural on the wall to the Barrow Grove?Well, we did already go into a tapestry.... but it wasn't a tapestry of evil....
Cosmo might also recall he was almost coerced to crawl into the mouth of the Green Demon visage in the Nergal Alcove which may well have been a sphere of annihilation.
Certainly the water in the coffer looks more bloodied with Sven's entrance which may add to any fearful conclusion.
Gerdal and Isvand at least have experience of extra-planar portals (the Barrow Grove & Barrow Mere).
I can't tell you what to do or the conclusions you may reach, all character actions and rewards (figuring Afterlife to be a reward unless in Undead form ...) are a player decision.

Gideon
Gideon, clutching his prayer beads in one hand and muttering a prayer to Ygg for hope, will follow Cosmo hoping to discern something of use.
"Cosmo, lead the way. There has to be something we can do!"
Looking for any clues in the mural or figure that may help figure out what happened

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
correct, it is a clever tale told by Sven and Gerdal.Yup, I don't think I remember the undersea adventure in character?
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Orgoth recalls that adventure fondly, mermaids!
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Gerdal
Oh, high posting speed now
Here I log out to sleep and work and suddenly...
Gerdal scratches her head when Sven swiftly jumps into the coffin and disappears (?)
"Wow, okay. I really don't think they are dead. Or at least not killed in the coffin. More likely they were transported somewhere else, possibly together with the ooze! I would even dare to guess that wherever they went, it was the home of that blood red liquid. Which got here when the gateway opened. Many uncertainties here.
She turns to Sir Dewey next.
"Smokie is strongly liked to Sven, either he was transported with Sven, or he simply disappeared when Sven did. Either way, it's connected for sure."
"I don't think anyone else should follow them, we need to stay here if they find their way back. As someone mentioned, I've travelled twice to other planes myself through gateways in this maze. It's dangerous but no death traps - if they were, they'd be useless. Why bother building a portal to kill someone when a simple exploding rune would do?"
