Reven wanders off to his bunk and lies down - wondering where Hebden might be found. He can easily imagine him leaving the ship - he saw him go - but after that?

Indrani marches into her quarters and surveys the mess Hebden made of it. Her duty case is lying on the deck with the latches opened. She picks up the plastic case and drops it on her bunk, and sits down beside to to load her clothing into it. She starts with her underwear, which the little bastard had strewn all over the cabin. She picks up a pair of her panties and folds it into a neat roll, and starts to place it into the case.

Her hand stops as she tries to set it down, and she sighs deeply and closes her eyes. "Whatever else you are, you're not a quitter," she hears her mother's voice say in her head. It was one of her favorite homilies, and Indrani stares at the cabin bulkhead as she thinks about what to do next.

Indrani listens with a neutral expression until Nalani finishes. Her speech is clipped and precise, her eyes cold. "I came here to command a ship, not to deal with a flying deathtrap and a crew who is being hunted by apparently everyone in the system. Since you seem to have not only excellent hindsight, but a much better grasp of what it takes to command a vessel, then I will leave that responsibility to you, or to whomever else would be insane enough to want it. This entire convoluted mess," she waves a hand at the ship, "is much more than I ever bargained for when I volunteered to fill the captain's post. You will note that I said volunteered. I am not being commanded to take this job, and I certainly have no obligation to stay. There is nothing to command but a constantly devolving mess of broken equipment, a crew that is embroiled in who really knows what, and a so-called ship that I wouldn't take out of that cradle again for love or money."

She takes a step back. "I am done. I will clear out my belongings and sell whatever interest I have in this... ship... for whatever I can get for it." With that, she turns and goes to her quarters to pack her personal gear.

Reven, Nālani notes, has retired to his bunk, and appears to be having some form of fit! His back is arched and his feet and hands are drumming quietly on the covers.

Indrani sighs and continues to pack her personal belongings, stepping around the mess in her cabin while claiming whatever is hers.

"What I want is to have a ship that won't kill me when I try to take it out. I meant every word I said, both at the meeting and to Nalani." She looks at him. "Do I still have your support?"

Indrani stares at her disheveled cabin's floor for a long moment. "I don't really know, Pranit. People's comments don't normally bother me, but Nalani blaming me for all of this was just too much. I'm tired of dealing with this mess. I'd take the ship out and away, but it's a deathtrap until we can make some major... adjustments." She flicks her eyes up at the ceiling for emphasis. "We have to get out of this dock before someone gets killed, or we have to get away from this ship and go our separate ways, taking our own problems with us."

Some lasers still use crystals for the lasing elements. The question is, what frequencies are these supposed to generate or control, and what device do they fit into?"

A quick check shows that autopsies are not cheap and as a non-relative you can't get access to the body even by proxy (unless you are being charged with causing the death or are an investigating officer for such an individual).
