I will try to keep up with the action in our thread, but please don't wait for a post from me, just in case I am face down in the gutters of Lake Geneva somewhere.
 Have fun (for the third time).

I wonder if some year I will cross the pond even just for the CON. It sounds the closest thing to the Gen Con of yore.

Funny with the degrees. We use Celsius here and with 40 degrees your teeth will be melting  Well, it can easily get to that temperature in summer in Spain, or a bit more. I live in Germany though. Yesterday we had a sunny day and had been making a visit to a wine yard. Great walk and wine.

As a scientist we use Celsius at work, but I can convert back and forth in my head without even thinking about it so no issue using either system.

We have finally returned (nearly) unscathed from another successful convention.

You might be surprised to hear about how many folks come to experience Garycon from all around the planet.

If you ever wanted to make the trek, we would be happy to help guide you through the initial experience some day. :D

Glad you enjoyed it. We have few such large scale GenCon type events in the UK.

I am updating scenes, will post in each shortly.

We may have a new player joining shortly. Marullus , so we welcome him to the game and hope he stays longer and fares better than other recent recruits.

Hvalreki & BlueTongue I will post a new Bogtown update later. Sorry the draft got mislaid.

May be a slow weekend as my Mum's 86th birthday happens Friday and I also have a horse syndicate day with owners and trainer meetup Saturday.

Hello and welcome to Marullus who will be most familiar with a lot of the aspects to the game in set up and features as in large part much was inspired by his four year Lab Lord: North Marches campaign which built on Keenelfs earlier work.

Unfortunately only two other characters are present in the Helix village (though both are absent players on the forum).

Anyway, I will update the village thread and you can adventure as you like.

Welcome indeed Marullus! I loved how your North Marches game looked like. Unfortunately I arrived when it was already disappearing and didn't get the chance to play as much as I would've liked to.

Welcome to the game.

If you don’t mind being patient, our group is in the last dungeon room we are going to search before heading back to Helix. It might still be a few days yet, but hopefully there will be an entire crew of folks heading back to town that you could either recruit from or join up with. (or at the very least, someone to RP with)

Just a thought.

In answer to your town crier post. I can't think of any issues that bug me or I can ask an amendment on. I think you play the narratives fairly loosely with allowing players to use skills and creative suggestions to tackle issues. Personally I like the extra buffs, especially the mage spell check and separating the deities with little distinctives.

So many choices as well developing, all ooc knowledge but knowing you plan environmental threats, have players making deals with god's and ghosts, characters having personal crisis to roleplay through, researching new magics and creating new items, etc.

House Rules. As you know in this game I am trialing various things. How are they working?

I do like the mage spell buffs, stops them being really poor characters at low level. And I appreciate how investing in character themes such as tributes and out of expedition or combat actions like adding to the wider world through projects or skills training, means you can flavour your character to be distinct and memorable.

I would just add some upgrades to clerics each level such as a bonus to healing spells. Any thoughts on allowing dwarven clerics? I know they exist in 1st ed but not as a playable character, only NPC's.
