Jaceo

Has some kind of bloodlust, you ask me. Some times it eats those its killed, sometimes it just rips 'em apart and spreads the bits around. 'Tis smart, though. We've laid traps, dug pits baited with sheep, nothing. Prints all around, didn't go for it; bastard killed three loggers the day after we dug the pit

"Sounds like there could be a chance we are dealing with some sort of changeling if it can discriminate a trap." Innana says in Elvish, "a changeling that may know the area.
"

Then a double Rhys?

What if Jaceo is a changeling of sorts? Someone should check his tent to see if he is there.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Is this the counsel of the ghost of Innana, speaking from beyond the grave?

And let us know if you want to return. They've got a one-use magic stone that can return people to life -- with, ahem, potential side-effects -- but if you don't want to continue then you should probably let everyone know not to use it.

Lol. Ok then, I guess I was not clear. I want to play, but only if it is not going to detour from the groups progress in this quest. I want to play if you all want Innana with the group. For example, I did not want the stone to be used on Innana if someone else died. What I meant to say is it won't be the end of the world if Innana does not come back. I am quite busy, but I would love to keep adventuring with you. At the time of the post I was not sure how many of Innana's comrades would die.

So in short, give Innana the stone.... Someone... Before it is too late, since Drudsa won't be able to post until after Sunday, and he has the stone on his person.

Just found some time at a real computer while the lady is sleeping. We can use the stone after the battle is over, we have until 1 turn after the person dies to use it. If we're not all dead by then of course.

Even though I thought it when Merodin left, I never said it here in the thread. I am not eve sure if he still even checks out the adventure thread, but just in case he is. I want to say I enjoyed playing with you. I will miss you. I wish you happiness.

Just as a side note, I have been fairly liberal when it comes to the use of the rowan shield. I have reread the description of the item, which can be found on p.30 of Fight On, Issue Two:
Whenever the bearer of such a shield is the target of magic, or within the area of a spell's effect, the shield will vibrate. If the bearer is wearing the shield on the arm or carrying it in hand, this vibration is impossible to miss.
Emphasis mine. In other words, it should not, from now on, be functioning as an always active Detect Magic spell for purposes of detecting magic items, magic abilities that are not spells, or creatures that are inherently magical in nature.

TK. A while back you asked me if I had read a book series of a red headed warrioress. Can you give me the title again? I never did get my order from Amazon, and can not find the info in the thread.

I think she's actually blonde. The books are by Elizabeth Moon: the first three are Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Divided Allegiance and Oath of Gold.

Another is Jirel of Joiry, a classic by C.L. Moore, old school and in the famous DMG Appedix N.

Thank you, TK, for this putting this campaign together. And thank you to everyone who has participated and contributed to the game. I've had a great time! Like Lanny, the last time I enjoyed playing a game like this was when I played D&D as a kid!

Thanks!! These look like good candy reading. So random. How many fantasy books are there on red headed warrioresses?

I wanted to suggest an optional house rule that perhaps we could use (if allowed) re: sleeping in one's armor (for added protection at night) but taking some specific penalties as a result:

Sleeping in Armor

"A character who sleeps in medium or heavy armor is automatically fatigued the next day. He or she takes a -1 penalty to hit rolls, damage rolls, and AC (as well as any other checks related to Strength and Dexterity). Additionally, spellcasters cannot prepare new spells if fatigued. Sleeping in light armor does not cause fatigue. The fatigue continues with each passing day until a full night of unarmored sleep is achieved."

For these purposes, normal chain mail and normal plate mail would be considered medium and heavy armor, respectively, while leather armor would be considered light armor (additionally, for these purposes, magical plate mail would function like normal chain mail, while magical chain mail would function like normal leather).

Any thoughts on this? Is it too much?

Hmm. Sounds good except I would modify two things:
1)While sleeping in armor hit points are not regained naturally.
2)The magical nature of armor has no effect upon resting. Magical armor is lighter than normal armor, but it is no more comfortable to wear than normal armor.

I will update IC tonight.
