"Grrr..." Gwillt growls. He's obviously upset his plan didn't work, but he isn't about to leave his friends in a death trap...

Initiative [1d10] = 5

He waits for the trog's javelin to fly past him, then moves back in for a strike...

To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 18+4 = 22
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9

... catching the troglodyte solidly in the side with his curved blade.

LOL Sorry. Premature celebration post.try this one.

"Fall before me!" growls Grim thrusting yet again at the slippery lizard thing.

Scimitar [1d20+4] = 11+4 = 15 Thac0: 20 Damage:[1d10+3] = 1+3 = 4

He looks about back north, then south, then north again, stuck in the middle. Shanny pulls at the cloak of Fimmion to lowly get around and then eyes Orek's strategic placement, waiting for a chance to attack the trogs. He will not try to sneak past, in fear that attacks be hindered or perhaps glance upon him.

O'rek cries "may the light aide our cause!" and smashes down with his hammer yet again:

War hammer attack [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17 (THACO=20)

Warhammer Damage (+1 weapon, +3 str dmg) = [1d4+4] = 2+4 = 6

epsilon strikes at the one between him and gwilt hoping to kill it and escape toward the entrance

[1d20] = 18

[1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

Very solid round by the players so far.

I'm just waiting on actions from Kaltar and Strom and we'll be able to move ahead. Almost a dozen rounds so far.... crazy fight!

Strom will continue his controlled withdrawal and will make attacks that present themselves.

Attack:
[1d20] = 14
Damage:
[1d8+1] = 6+1 = 7

If a trog interposes Kaltar attacks it. If not he pats Darrin on the shoulder on his way past him
"you're doing well lad, keep it up. Don't worry we'll be out of here soon. Fall back keeping the light for Strom to see what he's doing."
Kaltar will continue up to Ewell.

Since this *might* happen (It will), can you include these rolls now and going forward?

Round 11

Posted: Sat Oct 05, 2013 2:44 pm
by dmw71
To the North
Unfortunately for the party, the beasts act first and capitalize on the space created when Kaltar fell back into the passageway. The troglodyte that had been engaged in melee with Kaltar (06) follows the cleric into the passage. After breaking its javelin last round, the beast switches to its natural weapons, raking the priest with its claws once resulting in a minor scratch (-1).

The first new combatant to enter the fray (09) via the void created by Kaltar's opponent forces its way into the passageway and, just after rounding the corner, turns and unsuccessfully attempts to prick Strom with its javelin. Immediately behind it is a second troglodyte (10) which is able to make it intersection where this side passage meets the main passageway. It, too, attempts to jab Strom but the knight easily defects the incoming javelin with his shield. The scaly beast that Strom was already in melee with also gets an attack against the knight, but is unable to connect. Strom, who planned on falling back, finds himself blocked off by the more quick-acting troglodytes. He turns and slices at one of his new opponents and just misses.

Grimnail continues the good fortune of those to the north as he is able to escape harm from the pair of angry beasts he is engaged in melee with. "Fall before me!" the barbarian growls, thrusting his scimitar at the previously wounded lizard thing in front of him, finishing the job and dropping the beast. (Unless Grimnail has plans of pushing north, the troglodytes further down the main passageway will fill the void created and be able to attack next round).

Kaltar looks to retaliate against the persistent troglodyte that just scratched him, but the beast is able to evade the swing of his mace. (I went ahead and rolled for you since I was ready and needed them).

Please, in the future, if anyone thinks there's a chance a roll might be needed, include them.

Darrin, finding himself face-to-face with one of the fearsome lizard creatures, surprises even himself by not panicking. Instead, the youngster slashes at the swamp creature, but does so wildly.

Stuck in the Middle
Ewell reamins closely behind O'rek, ready to assist at a moments notice.

Shannigans looks north, then south, then north again, stuck in the middle. The halfling pulls at the cloak of Fimmion to alert him as to his presence. He creeps around the chef and eyes Orek's strategic placement, waiting for a chance to attack the trogs. Fimmion now falls to third in line, which is fine with the chef.

---

To the South
The creatures are slow to react on this end.

"Grrr..." Gwillt growls, upset his plan didn't work. The ranger is not about to leave his friends in a death trap so, after ducking out of the way of the incoming javelin, he rushes back into the fray and catches his former adversary (4) solidly in the side, dropping it.

O'rek cries "May the light aide our cause!" as he brings his hammer down on his foe (7), issuing it a decent wound.

Epsilon brings his mace crashing down on the scaly beast he's engaged in battle against, hurting the creature.

The void created by the creature killed by Gwillt is quickly filled by one of the creatures (8) eagerly waiting behind it. This new combatant attempts to skewer the ranger but is unsuccessful. O'rek is also able to escape harm as his opponent pokes at him wildly, but Epsilon gets struck, badly (-7), by the beast he wounded moments earlier.

Can Ewell get around Fimmion? If so, he will do so to assist next round in the south. Hopefully, a cleric has a chance to heal him...

He will parry if needed.

Sorry but I'm having trouble reading the map. Are you using trog #s duplicate on both maps? 7,8,9 on both? There's still 2 PCs(ST & DA) between Grim and southern trogs?

I'm assuming there is still 2 PC'S between Grim and the southern trogs

Grim will continue shuffling south in a fighting withdrawal.

He begins to bellow out a deep and loud laugh as his foe falls and he beckons the other lizards to follow.

Scimitar [1d20+4] = 17+4 = 21 Thac0: 20 Damage:[1d10+3] = 6+3 = 9

yeah baby! Wonder if our chef can make trog stew taste good!

wait couldn't epsilon have moved into the space where number 4 was? that is why i said I atacked the one between him a gwilt so he could kill it and move down to stop them from moving into the spot.

Kaltar swings at the following trog. This time if he kills it he will step forward to prevent Strom and Grim being cutoff...and young Darrin being targetted:

Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 18 Dam [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

With the proper ingredients, he most certainly can!
