(Yeah, I think we can grab most of the portables and take them with us? From our list? Agree to leave the robe :P The lab will be hard to carry out - in any case, we have the key and we can lock it down. Maybe they only ask to take a look at 'our' tower, and we politely acquiesce :P OR we get ahead of it, and claim we are planning on claiming ownership of the abandoned place, and would like their assurance it is thoroughly cleansed out.)

"Yep, lets have a word ith him before we go" - he nodded - "As for Geraint, I am confident we will not need to worry about him - he genuinely seemed to have accepted the chance we gave him. Hopefully he will choose a wiser path going forward"

(Planning on playing the card with Hrek and the other captive - say if they cooperate, maybe we can put in a good word with the authorities as we deliver them. As in... Say they cooperated)

Sounds good, and I'm sure they want to play down the relationship with the priestess, that's a pressure point.

The pair return head upstairs. They find Hrek, still tied up in his room, and remove the cloth tied around his mouth.

The man spits. "Told Vane we were here too long. Stay in one place long enough, someone tougher and smarter is gonna drive you out, take your place. You looking for men? I don't ask for much."

I'm sure she did. Always had the loyalty of a cat. She's the one who got us in touch with the priestess. Me? I had nothing to do with her. Just let her live in my basement. Didn't want to go after the farmers, neither. Too much danger, not enough loot. But Helda? They were close. She's the one who convinced us to move into this wretched tower. She's the one who made Vane drag us after the farmers. She's the one who got your friend killed."

Mordred's eyes narrow as he steps forward, his voice low but filled with cold resolve. "You seem to think your words have weight. Let me make this clear - no one will care what a petty thug like you has to say about anyone, least of all the church. You’re nothing but a rat in a sinking ship, scrambling to make deals while the water rises."

He leans in closer, his expression hard. "Astrid? The brand? Do you really think that holds power over us? The only thing that matters to them is that you were in league with the priestess of the Kinslayer. You're done. So drop the games."

Mordred straightened, glancing at Corvin, then back at Hrek. "Tell us where Helda ran off to, and maybe we'll put in a good word for you. Otherwise, well... What alternatives do you have? Really?"

Charisma check for Corvin: 1d20+12+2(Mordred helping)-4(your offer is kind of weak) = 28 > 20

Hrek looks between the two for a moment, then sighs. "Fine. If I'm gonna get put on the inquisitor's rack, or dangling from a noose, I want that witch there too. She's got an in with some dwarves running merchant ships along the coast, I don't know the details. They dabble in a bit of smuggling and the like for one of the more ambitious merchant families. She's probably gonna head for the docks, see if she can work her connections and get passage deeper into the Refuge. They're the ones I got my blade from." Wisdom/insight from Corvin: 1d20+13 = 29 > 20. Based on the resigned sigh, and the venom in Hrek's voice, Corvin is reasonably sure Hrek is being on the level. Hrek's eyes fall on the weapon sitting at Mordred's hip. His lips twist sourly. "Your blade. Head up to the docks, to a hole in the wall called the Rusty Mine. Look for Drek Stonebeard."

So I say we grab the portables, lock the door, drop the body of Kasper at the church, and the bandits at the guard, or whichever is closer?

I'm thinking that we take Kasper to the church first, tell them the situation and let them report it up the chain. If you think it's safe to leave the prisoners. Or we untie thier legs and take them with us. We could pay the locals to push the cart with Kasper on.

Feel free to specify what treasure each of you grabs. It's not clear to me if you intend to untie the legs of the prisoners and bring them along or not. So go ahead and describe what you grab, and how you leave the tower. Also how much you want to offer the kids to push the handcart.

Corvin will ensure that the tower windows are shut and secured where possible and any fires are under control before we lock the basement and front door.

I think it's best we bring the prisoners rather than leaving them in the tower.

I suggest we take the following treasure:

Bracers & sword (obviously)
Moonstone bracelet
Healing potion
Potion which is invisible
Sealed ceramic jar
Keys from the priestess room
6 bottles of perfume.
Sack: 6 gp, 44 cp
Purse: 6 sp, and 6 cp
Six small sacks containing about 315 copper pieces, and 87 silver pieces.
8 small sacks containing 46 silver and 245 copper pieces.

To save having to carry all those copper pieces (566?), why don't we offer it to the family we met as part payment to push the cart and partly as recompense for what happened to the families around here. Spending copper would bring less attention to them.

Agreed on the list of loot.
Agree on offering the copper to the family.
And I think we should untie their legs, but they them one to the other, and hold the end of the rope in our hands, so they don't run off.
