Do you go west then?

First, HP takes a quick look at the alcoves. Then when Milner chimes in, we can go west.

As HP is taking a quick glance at the empty-seeming alcoves, part of the stone on one of the alcoves lashes out like a serpent. 8 + 4 = 12. The stone-like lash barely misses HP.

Ruh roh.

Can he scurry back out of the room? Was it the stone itself, something on the stone that mimics the colors/textures, or the silvery stuff itself?

Well, HP can certainly try to scurry back, but as he does so, two things happen.

First, bad luck strikes him, and he feels a sharp pain in his right ankle as it turns beneath him, causing him 1 point of Agility damage and reducing his speed by 5 feet.

Second, the thing lashes at him again. It looks like nothing so much as an amoeboid pseudopod made of somewhat damp stone. This time it hits (17 + 4 = 21) and does 4 points of damage to poor HP. Now, this last might appear to be a bit of bad luck as well, but when you consider that I rolled 2d8 for damage, "4" is getting off pretty lightly......

Okay, so he can still move 25', or double move to 50' (which he will) and get the heeeeeeeel outta dodge.

"Aiieieeeeieeeeeeee! It's alive!" HP screams as he hobbles past the group.

Cisneros takes a closer look at the opening into that room... this isn't the maw of some room-sized creature is it?!

Not that he can tell. In fact, nothing seems to be moving in there now. There's just a wet patch of stone on the floor where HP was standing.

Heh... pretty nasty curse! Yeesh.

HP vehemently wants to leave. Post-haste. Cisneros is inclined to agree with him.

Gunnar would like to explore the western area first, before leaving, just to map out what's there. He fully expects to come back here, probably tomorrow or the next day, with a crew of folks to extract that silver.

Daryll is ambivalent.

Who said anything about a curse?

Well, nobody did, but I just figured that's what the Luck roll was for...

I suppose that it's possible. 8-)

Hearing no objection... let's map out the west first, then I'll update the map.

We move with Milner in the lead, because... well, because he's beefy. !

Okay then, westward ho!

The passage goes 30 feet, and then there is a door to your left. Immediately thereafter, there is a door to your right. Ten feet later, the passage opens into a larger area. The smell of copper seems to be coming from directly ahead.

Gunnar opens the first door on the left.

He sees another corridor, which goes 20 feet before turning to the left.

Okay... we'll proceed down the corridor to see where it goes.

Before they go, Daryll will open the door to the right, just to make sure nothing's in there that'll jump out at the party from behind.

Beyond is a 20-foot square area, dusty, with maybe 200 square burial alcoves. With the door open, Gunnar can smell silver within.

Is that the north door or the south passage?

North door.
