Ok, so that’s 2 votes for returning to get Cora’s body.

Anyone else?

Saracen agrees. ”It’s too risky currently. She has gone to Hades land now, and we cannot change that. We need to try and destroy the amulet though, or at least drop it into the deepest parts of the ocean if it is unbreakable.

Excellent! That makes the vote 2-2.

Kruk will need to decide the fate of the group with his choice.

What happens if his 2 characters vote 1-1?

I am trying to be patient, but I would think that both of kruk's pc's would be willing to go back inside to retrieve Cora, especially Sir C.

So, since its been 4 days since I posted my update, I will move this action along shortly with that in mind unless I hear any objections.

Return To Cat Turd Beach?
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Warm, Humid, Damp

Sir Crestbrook slaps himself on his forehead after Alordan suggests returning to gather the remains of poor Cora. “For the good of the six circles, how did we forget to bring her remains out with us? Of course we need to go back. And I will lead the way!”

Lerrick seems torn. “I will go if the three of you are going back in, but is it really necessary? Like Big Gramble said, she will still be dead regardless. I mean, we are coming back tomorrow, right?”

The party seems to be at a stalemate. They look back and forth at each other undecided as Crestbrook draws his sword and heads back in the direction of the tunnel.

Sir Crestbrook the Mighty

Absolutely! I was under the impression that we were going to bring the body with us on the way out. I insist that we return immediately to retrieve her. The paladin motions back to the cave.

Lerrick

Lerrick actually agrees with the paladin for once. The girl deserves a proper burial.

Return To Get Cora
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Warm, Humid, Damp

Nearly forgotten, Jeevus finally looks up from the floor as he scribbles into his journal the wise trepidation of Gramble and Saracen.

Crestbrook leads the group back into the tunnels, following the same marks they made on their last course so they don't run into anything new in here. The trip through the immaculate labyrinth takes time, with all of the twists and turns they need to navigate as they finally make their way back to Cora's chambers. The dead woman still lies face down on the stone floor where she was killed. Crestbrook gently picks her up so he can carry her back out of this dreadful place. The chamber looks no different on their second visit, so the party sets back out towards the exit again.

Their return trek goes by uneventfully as well, until the single torch Maag is carrying begins to sputter and spit, eventually reaching its end and going out only a minute or two before they reach the entrance cave again. With no other light source in the group, the entire party is suddenly cast into total and pitch black darkness.

Sir Crestbrook the Mighty

After leaving the cave the paladin gently places the slain cleric on the ground, then turns to Alordan. Thank you for considering going back into the cave to retrieve Cora. I know it was risky, but it had to be done.

Lerrick

The cleric walks over to the Cora and whispers a prayer while hold her hand over the top of Cora's head. it is unfortunate that a ring of such powerful evil fell into the hands of someone so pure and innocent. So sorry young one. I will carry and wield your mace in your honor from here on out dearest Cora.

Oh Oh
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Warm, Humid, Damp

It takes the ranger a few moments to gather his gear in the pitch dark, but he is able to get a new torch lit without too much trouble. Once he raises it up, it burns a few stringy strands of spiders webbing that hangs down from the filthy cave walls in front of him.

Once everyone's eyes adjust to the light again, they find themselves in an unfamiliar narrow tunnel that branches off in many directions. The walls and floor here are covered with webs, chunks of fallen stone, and other normal dirt and debris.

Alordan peers down at the ground for signs of their tracks passing by here. It doesn't make sense that they would be in a different location for the few minutes of darkness that they somehow found themselves in.
