Pheras is less cautious and more curious at the strange spectacle of a man that appeared before them, he stares intently on his eyepatch for what seems like an inappropriate amount of time then finally opens his mouth to ask a question that fits nowhere in the current situation, "Ummm......why are you covering your eye with a piece of cloth tied to a string around your head? Is that what people call..fashion?", he tilts his head slightly in what can only be described as confusion.

The strange man hand still in the air in surrender like fashion other hands still on the staff "My business out here is I might suspect similar to your's I was out here investigating or rather a better term would be following sets of wolfish tracks and some others more wolf man like sized tracks. pausing as Pheras stares at his eye patch "As for whom I might be my name is Arthur Dent, Arty to my friends. I am an alchemist of sorts if you wish to call it that more a mage that spends more time on potions than on spells per say." again still waiting for Pheras to stop staring finally when Pheras asks about it "Didn't your mother ever tell you it is impolite to stare? Goodman it is not a fashion I wear it simply because of a mishap that took my eye. It is more a functionality to keep dust and other debris from my eye socket." having answered all the questions Arthur sighs "Might I be allowed to put my hand down now?"

"Well Rician, did you sense anything my friend",asks Bandir?
If yes
"Very well, Arty. I think an extra eye and your skills might help us out. Take note though that these are Wolfweres not Werewolves. There's a difference. I'll fill you in quietly as we scout", states Bandir?
If it's evil
"Take it boys quick",barks Bandir.

Krakus- You must be a great warrior also to come out here alone. We fought 4 of them last night and it was quite the battle. Krakus looks over the Arthur still not trusting him completely. So what kind of potions do you have to fight these beasts?

Arthur Dent pointing to the red vials then to the green ones "Well the red ones here are healing potions and the green ones are something I call wolfs bane juice."

Bandir relaxes his bow grip and eases his tension. "Boy, you know you could have been killed with a stupid stunt like that. We've got a marching order and it might be helpful if you are in the middle of the pack for safety. Let's keep moving on these tracks and everyone keep your eyes sharp all around us and up above us too."
Bandir fills Arty in on what a Wolfwere is and the particulars he knows about them so he can fight them effectively and knows their sly ways.
Bandir thinks, "I sure hope this sap can fight."

Pheras realizes that he was talking to a stranger as if he already knows him which surprised him a great deal, he mutters incoherent apologies then stares at the ground as he goes into marching order.

Arastor takes in the new guest and the skills he has to offer. As Arty and Bandir continue to converse, Arastor nods to the others that he will continue tracking.

Tracking on the group party zigzags through the forest to the point well beyond being able to see the village of North Vale. When eventually you come to a cave face that has three cave entrances visibly from your position which is a good 50 yards until you would get to the entrance of the caves. Conversing with "Arty" along the way reveals little he appears to not have been hired by Rethor but word apparently had reached him in a tavern which lead him to the lumber milling town south of North Vale, then further word spread of the events your group encountered the night before striking interest in the adventuring alchemist mage to take up his own little investigation though he seeks not to "save the town" per say he seeks the knowledge of these creatures and wishes to capture one or two and study them. Back to the situation at hand though you come to where the tracks lead too and Arastor discovers more tracks coming in from a few other directions it would appear based on his understanding and training of tracking that there were other groups besides the one you all encountered the night before. This has turned into more than just a small monster hunt to save a village it has turned into save potentially multiple villages. There appears to be a large family of these creatures in this cave complex.
Question is not how do you approach the situation at hand?
In other words actions?

Pheras examines the three entrances and figure out the one with least travel meanwhile expressing his common goals with the alchemist mage, "This world is so grand and full of mysteries isn't it? Learning and unlocking the infinite gates of knowledge to get a glimpse of the universe in the smallest of creations", he was too occupied to realize he was talking out loud.

A: No they do not appear to favor one cave over the other.
