Fulp manages to cross the narrow ledge with the same difficulty as
Ciar did before him, but he, and
Festus after him, successfully manage to rejoin the rest of the party across the ledge.
Once everyone is on the destination side, they all successfully pass through the parting of the slime created by the burning rope, and begin to explore the beyond.
The western passage is approximately 20' in length and there is a closed, inward swinging door with a handle on the southern wall at the end of this western passage.

Ciar examines the door.

The door appears to be nothing more than a simple closed door with a handle, no lock. It would swings into the room if opened.

Ciar listens at the door and, if hearing nothing, opens it.

Hearing nothing,
Ciar cautiously opens the door. The door opens to a passageway heading south for about 50' before turning due east. Once reaching the eastern turn, the group peers around the corner and reveals a new passageway longer than the 60' of light the lantern is able to provide -- almost three times as long once it has been explored.
A small, barred window pierces the iron door at the end of this nearly 150' long hallway, revealing a plain, ten-foot-square room with a windowless iron door on the opposite wall beyond.
A rusty lock, which appears to be in terrible shape, "secures" the iron door before you closed.

Ciar examines the hole more carefully.

In actuality, he pulls out the Rusty key he found earlier and tries it in the lock.

Using the key he found earlier, Ciar inserts it into the lock and turns it open easily after it proves to be a perfect fit.
The lock is open, the door is not.

Fulp checks to confirm the other lamp is lit and then extinguishes his "borrowed" lantern, as the other one should provide enough light for now.
Guys, I have but one more flask. As we go through here, we need to make sure we have light to return back to the surface.

"I borrowed the your fallen friends lantern and oil. Here have another flask." says the gnome handing one of the appropriated flasks over to the warrior.
He will follow Ciar along the path to the south. Ten feet behind

"I have a few flasks of oil left too" replies Sylvan, but we should be mindful of our stores.
Sylvan listens at the door before it is opened. If he hears nothing he retreats to the wall north of the door, spear at the ready.

Sylvan, being at human height, is able to peer in through the barred window, a luxury his gnomish and halfling companions don't share. He also listens at the door, and shares that the room both appears and sounds vacant.

The gnome will retreat up the corridor 10' whilst the halfling looks over the portal.

"Can one of you sneaky types check this door for traps before I open it?" requests Sylvan. Unless a trap is found, he 'll go ahead and open the door, spear in his other hand.

Ciar inspects the now unlocked door and believes it to be safe. With the halflings assurance, Sylvan cautiously opens the door and does so safely, exposing the plain, ten-foot-square room.

Ciar steps into the room and looks around.

As soon as Ciar steps foot into the room, an enchanted mouth suddenly appears along the northern wall and, in a booming voice, fills the room with the following message:
“Please close the door before proceeding with the pass phrase.”

Fulp shifts to the door, ready to hold it open if Ciar needs help escaping back to the hallway.

Sylvan nods to Ciar and enters the room. "I'm taking a crack at this. Wait outside if you don't trust me..."
Sylvan will wait until others make their decision, then enters the room and shuts the door.

Fulp perks up.
ah, you think you found an answer, then?
He will follow the others inside, then.
