Hello,
I'm new to these forums. I'd like to get into a 2nd edition game, maybe skills and powers. I have a shelf crammed with 2nd Ed stuff. I don't want to GM right now but down the road I might.
Anyway any D&D setting or a homebrew with the standard stuff or slight variations. Not interested in anything too bizaar, must more classic D&D right now. I'm doing the bizaar stuff online in groups. PbP I am interested hopefully in Just classic DnD

Welcome, shiffd.
There may be another one I'm missing, but if you're looking for a 2e game, your best bet would be either one of Ed's (GreyWolfVT) games, or the game I just started, listed below:
Your best bet would be to take a look at the existing games in progress to see if they interest you. Then check out the requirements for the game (e.g. mainly, how frequently the game updates). Once you settle on one (or more) shoot that DM a private message, or reply in the original recruitment post for that game, and express an interest.
Good luck!
- Dave

I'd love to see a game of Warhammer with the new 4E ruleset.

Been collecting retroclones for a while, but have never had a chance to play anything based on B/X. Like the look of ACKS but not too bothered. Would also like to try a hex crawl but maybe pbp isn't best suited to that style?

There was a short-lived Black Hack game here. I liked the rules. And the story. It seemed to play well on PBP.

There have been a few hex crawls and they seem to work pretty well. Marullus is currently running one that seems to be going strong.

I certainly would too! I backed the kickstarter and after forever of waiting finally received the book in the mail yesterday. If an opportunity arose where I could join as a player, I'd be your huckleberry.

Hmmm...I am currently musing a game in Tolkien’s Middle Earth, using the One Ring ruleset or mashing Middle Earth resources with say, SW Complete or comparable RPG rules. This would be heavy on Middle Earth lore, taking place between the Hobbit and the LOTR. Interested in feedback/interest.

Ooh, I'd be interested in one if it was using MeRP. Mostly because I know I already like it and at the moment I'm learning too many new rule sets as it is.

I looked at the One Ring rules a while back and thought it looked fantastic. But I don't think I could join another game right now.

I want to do a "blind" pvp tactical game giving each player only the info they can see, based on roll 20 dynamic lighting.
Based off of this:

That sounds interesting.
I've thought about attempting something like that in my games, but figure it's too much work (for both the DM and the players):
- Dynamically light a map on Roll20.
- Set the light and vision settings on the token for each character.
- Then go into each character and create maps for just what they're able to see; sharing that map with just the controlling player.
It would probably work great in a live game, but I can see it slowing down a play-by-post game something terribly.

Yeah, it would be pretty bad for a regular game... the idea of the (base) game is a space station assault by multiple parties, looking for a macguffin. Each player would be in their own sub forum, doing round by round instructions, getting round by round updates, but they would have the ability to talk to each other.
Im not close to having this set up, just spit balling that I was thinking about it.
In the game it's based on, one player is the alien... that might be little xenomorphs, or HAL 9000, or something else, and the other players wouldn't know until they ran into you or you otherwise tipped your hand.
