If the tunnel is wide enough to go three abreast, then please change:

- Ji-ho and Gurav form the first melee line.
- Rolton and Bofur form the second melee line.
- Verdugo and Korev form the third melee line.
- Hemia and Borav form the fourth melee line.

TO

- Ji-ho, Bofur, and Gurav form the first melee line.
- Rolton, Verdugo, and Korev form the second melee line.
- Hemia, Hodlar, and Borav form the third melee line.

That leaves Morwen and her folks with Si-Woo (archer) in the rear.

Is a needed roll of "1" and auto hit?

Bofur's henchdwarves ought to be in the melee line as well.
Dwalin swaps in for Hodlar who goes back to the archers.
Dramm is also available to swap for Hemia.

Rear Area is
Barnaby and Sengrim
Morwen and Macnav
Dwalin
Si-woo (and Hemia)

Barnaby is chanting (+1 to all saves and morale checks for your side)
Morwen has no business near a fight because any damage will ruin a spell
Clerics are at the back to defend the squishies or to rush to support fighters.

It is not. I should have specified.
1s always miss

Sorry, if I hold things up I am busy. Had stuff going on every other day after work. Heading out here shortly so I probably won't be posting anything else on the boards until tomorrow.

No worries. I'll finish up the missile phase.

Does a high STR assist in melee combat?

What is the "set for charge" bonus? I didn't see it in the rules.

I seem to have deleted the campaign map... I am trying to recreate it as best I can. Some hex-IDs may change by 1 or 2.

It does not. Ability scores are for skill tests and saves.

The set vs charge bonus is clearly one of the things left out lol. In fact I think the entire 'formations and tactics' portion is missing so I'll get on that.

In any case it:
Removes the morale check to stand and fight when being charged.
Negates the enemy to hit bonus from charging.

Might want to make the "Plot Hooks, Events, and NPCs" thread a sticky, so we can find the map. Also, if you don't mind, put the hex number on the "Location" blurb. I can't remember if it's 38,19 or 41,19.

If you insist I will roll out the rest of the combat but I would prefer to get back to the important parts. Namely you have to pursue the big ones.

Okay, just to clarify, we've cleaned out rooms 1 and 2. I put the current dungeon map in the Maps thread. How far back have the biggest spiders retreated to? I can write the play to get us from room 2 to room 4 if you want, or just start at 4 if they have gone back through the door we just opened.

The spiders came around and used the door you hadn't opened yet in Room 3 going to Room 4 north of the debris pile.

Okay, I'll get you something up this evening.

Roobeastie, how is Morwen for spells?

I'm sorry for my lack of participation. I feel quite lost.

I believe Morwen is fine for spells, but I'll check on that for you.

Morwen has spent both her sp for the day. She has the Empower Focus talent though so she has 1sp in reserve stored in her dagger.

Normal sp recharge with resting for the night. Stored sp need you to expend sp and perform a ritual to charge them. So basically you need a day off

If you can be specific please do so, it won't hurt my feelings if my methods are to blame. This is a personalized rules system so I'm sure its brand new and I doubt I've even noticed where I haven't actually explained things.

I can certainly make more maps (most likely crude drawings) for combat if people would like.

Well the best way to put it is in looking at posts nothing ever is directed at Bofur or his group for things to do so I never really know if I need to post actions for him/them. Secondly would more or less being able to figure out how to make proper macros for attacking and so forth but I think maybe I did it correctly?

I've been hesitant to direct PCs because not everyone is used to it. I don't mind doing so, if you're okay with it.

Macros are very helpful. For combat, the dice are kept seperate. For skills, they are added.

- Here's a melee macro for a character with three hit dice:

Code: Select all

PC Melee attacks: [1d6] [1d6] [1d6]
- This is what I use for missiles:

Code: Select all

Missile Attacks [_3d6], Missile Damage [_3d6]
- Skill roll:

Code: Select all

Pair dice roll [_2d6]
I have some macros for his henchpeople too.

I will make it a point to call out to everyone in a scene how they will respond more clearly.
