Liam applause Chauncy. That sir, was amazing! Very well done!
Once he is outside, he will move to where they unloaded his wagon and find his scythe to begin helping clear the land. Everyone, the cave is not going to be ready for us tonight. There was a huge dead beast within, which our wizard has disposed of, but the smell is.... paralyzing to say the least.
There are other dangers such and holes in the floor that are full of water, so we will need to address those safety concerns as well. For now, let's clear as much as we can and be mindful to set aside anything that can be used for building temporary shelters for tonight. Thatch, bamboo, branches, anything that can be fashioned into a lean-to on the cliff face by the rocks. We have a lot of people and limited daylight, so I am afraid this must be a priority for now. That said, he leads by example and begins using his scythe to clear the underbrush and make clearing the trees etc easier. Fiona ever nearby to keep an eye out for game or danger.

Chauncey removes his rubber gloves, pleased with his work. As the creature is floated to its new resting place at stinkpile central, he examines its form, trying to determine what manner of creature it might have been.
“Remember to allow ample extra space, and… I would recommend choosing a spot downwind,” he suggests.
He then goes back into the room it formerly occupied for a “peek around” at anything that might have been revealed, including poking a torch down into the formerly grated hole to see what may be seen there.

Wes
Wes eyes the northern cliffs with a scowl. "That's put a dent in any plans to travel to the next orb site", he says to Grimm. He looks off to the east. "How far to go around them do you think?"
When he becomes aware of the figures off in the distance, he simply says "Someone obviously stayed here a few days ago. I wonder if it was this group."

The Princess
She leaves the messy business of tentacle wrangling to the others. Tentacles and princesses don't mix. "Oh, well done Master Chauncey. I see you do more than cast magic, you understand it."
As the sound of Marge thunders over the area, she chuckles. "I love that woman. So much energy, so much presence. It really is a pity that she's human. The world could use many more years of her."
She follows Wes's gaze across the cliffs. "More adventurers? We should be prepared, just in case it's something else. Ah, good to see you again Sir Knight. Did Marge chase you off your post below?"

Grimm
The dwarf studies the the cliffs with Wes.
"I can't say. You never can say with things like this. The cliffs will go as far as they may. We could star a expedition and take a look, but I wouldn't go further than a day's travel. What do you think? He says while he starts climbing down the whole.
"Right now, I'm interested in seeing what's beyond that stinky mass, now that's been removed. You were here once or twice, so maybe you're not interested, but I am!"
Climb Walls (77%) [1d100]=86 Once he has taken the damage thanks to the kind dice roller, he will try to crawl further into the cave where the others stand.

Sir William Narramore
Narramore grins and adjusts his gear once he reaches the top. "Hello, highness. Marge reminds me of one of my old field marshals at the monastery. Always barking orders and stomping about. A good lady to have around in a pinch, I think."
He shades his eyes to try and make out the approaching figures.

Wes
"I'm no rush", Wes responds.
"There were a few bottles there, but I think Galanthas scooped them...Ohhh...Are you all right Grimm?... I think he might need some help! Anybody down there?"
You know there was a rope there, right?

Nope!
Thrice Explored Hag Cave
Early Afternoon
Luther swings down from the top of the rock formation with the rope in his hand, floating softly to the sand on the end of the beach. He places the floating carcass in the trees at the request of Marge. Liam praises the effort as Chauncey waves away any accolades uncomfortably. Looking the creature over before it grows again, the wizard thinks the jet black beast to be somewhere between a squid and an octopus, but he has surely never seen anything like it before. Marge sniffs the air at the entrance to the cave.
"The stink dont seem too bad ta me no more! I say we fergets the huts fer now and just sleep in here. We can take a little smell and splashing water. I'll get a fire goin to smoke out the worst of the stink."
Wes and Grimm discuss a short trip up the cliffs while the others watch the group at the edge of their vision. It is difficult to tell if they are approaching or not. The small party at the top of the hole sees Chauncey enter the stink chamber again, hiking his robes and hopping across the wet, rocky platform back into the hags lab. Grimm decides to join him but falls through the hole as he tries to climb back inside. The dwarf bounces hard on the rock with a wince from Wes and Chauncey, but he hops back up and dusts himself off as if nothing even happened.

Another search of the final chamber reveals only useless junk stored around on the many rock ledges. Halved oyster shells filled with dried fish eyes and other oddities, some kind of yellow clumpy powder made from gods know what, a few strangely shaped pieces of coral, and some other weird items with no intrinsic value. Chauncey is the only one who finds anything remotely interesting when he picks up a flat stone from one shelf revealing a small concave below it. Stashed inside this hollow is what appears to be a handmade clamshell baby rattle of all things.
Looking into the now empty cage in the stone floor, the mage finds the hinged cover to be completely destroyed, but the rusty iron cage submerged under the floor still seems to be intact. The sea water rises and falls in the cage just as it does in the room you crossed to get here. The sea floor below the cage looks sandy and littered with coral growth and uneven rock formations.
Actions?
Searching the same area over repeatedly is fun and everything, but does anyone in this group actually plan on going out on any more adventures?

Grimm
"You've been witnesses to two things today. One that I'm clearly not a Stonegut, pah!" He points at his belly and the rest of vomit on the floor.
"And two, after that fall, that I'm an Ironhelm." And he points at his head.
He doesn't anything more before going to the final room, seeing everything there and delivering a remark:
"Is that all? Boh. I could've remained with the others."
He climbs back at the top using the rope.
I guess I'll have to spend a couple days getting back those hit points instead of going on a quest

I was going to, but you put a big line of impassable cliffs in the way.
Wes
Wes nods at Grimm's suggestion of a day long trip.
"A look around up here makes sense. The hag and her pet wiped out most of the animals down there". He points to where the people are laboring to build shelters.
"My heart tells me that Obad-Hai has blessed this upland with plenty of animals we can hunt for them."
Wes looks again at the figures heading towards them.
"It also won't hurt to see who these folk are."

Luther
Luther wrestles the mess into a pile and salvages the rope. He'll put some fallen branches and palm fronds over it, then turn his attention to the rest of the land earmarked for Clifftown.
I'm going to scout the area. Anyone else coming along?
**His intent is to search the whole area between the river and the cliffs. He's looking for game trails, springs, fruit trees, and an easier way up the cliffs. Does the cliff run into the sea? Or is there a beach?

"I hate to rain on a good scouting session, but there are a handful of creatures along the cliff that appear to be moving this way. I can't quite tell if they are people or not."
She brightens. "Maybe we could scout in that direction first?"

Wes
Wes nods in agreement with the Princess.
"I think that's why Obad Hai is telling me it will be more fruitful to explore up here above the cliffs. Most of the land down there has been explored already."
