Under The Sun
Freeday, 26th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Humid, Breezy

Once breakfast is finished, prayers are said, and spells studied, Keg looks out over their agreed upon path to the ruins, asking the others how far they should plan on traveling before stopping to rest again.

Max and Darklin go through a bit of a touchy feely morning ritual, but it isn't weird or anything. It just looks a little weird. Darklin feels much better afterwards, though his body is still sore and tired from the long journey so far. Elnaerel also gets into the healing routine, aiding both herself and Keg, saving her last prayer for water once they need it again, which they surely will.

TK suggests they take the wood they used for the tent along with them, looking around at the already heavily burdened group, wondering which of them will offer to drag the extra weight along with them through the hot, rugged terrain ahead.

With the group ready for travel again, Feanol, Keyon, and Gnodric remain silent, waiting for their leader to.......lead the way.

Actions?

Keg Woodwright AC1 11/13
Gnodric AC5 7/10
Darklin Sylvanas AC4 8/8 1/1 CL, DM, RM

Max AC2 8/8 CL 0/2 MU 1/1 CL, DM, RM
Feanol AC10 4/4 1/1 CL, DM, RM

Keg

Tired of the dilly dallying, the big man starts walking. No offense TK, but as much as I like shade, I am not carrying so much as another pound.
Leave that there as a good shelter to come back to. Might turn into a waypoint for future trips. We can call it Frog Point or something. Good luck dragging all that across all this. Sounds like a good way to break a neck to me, plus it will slow us down more than it helps later on.

Just remembered that Keg was handed an undamaged longsword from Gnodric. Adding to inventory now. Thank you!

Also subtracted 1lb for 1 days ration.

Darklin

Keg keep your old sword and leave it here if you want it fixed. I can cast mend on it to fix it, but I would rather do it later to save my spell. You can use that one I gave you until then. I have a second one that I have been carrying.

Max
I have the remaining spoiled rations I am leaving here. i can use Purify Food and Drink on them when we come back if we need them.

OOC- I have been doing it already for Max and Darklin.

Elnaerel

"I agree with Keg. We can't afford to carry more weight. It's already exhausting as it is. Let's hope the gods will grant us some help." She quickly mutters something to herself, looking at the ground while doing it, probably a short prayer, and starts walking too. "I should've bought myself several morningstars." She reflects at Gnodric's comment.

Deducted 1 daily ration and 2lbs. because the one ration I gave to TK the previous day I already removed, but not its weight :-p

Darklin

Gathers his gear and sets out with the others. Wondering what could be living in this tower.

Max
Finishes his prayers and the healing of Darklin and starts stuffing his things in his pack. Gets it together and goes after the group.

Under The Scorching Sun
Freeday, 26th of Goodmonth
MId Morning, Hot, Humid, Breezy

When nobody offers to help carry the wooden poles, TK wraps them up and attempts to pull them along with him as he walks along, reducing his pace to match the slowest marchers, and increasing his burden greatly. With at least a full days travel still ahead of them in the best of circumstances, the group sets out early to get a jump on the cooler conditions before the sun climbs too high in the sky. They travel unmolested over the rough, rocky terrain, concentrating on each step so they don't accidentally injure themselves. For obvious reasons, they don't find any signs of life atop this black rocky wasteland.

After a few hours pass, the morning sun begins its climb, scorching the backs of the adventurers as they walk along the black rocks. The radiant heat turns the dark surface of the cliffs up to a blistering temperature, causing each member to tap into their daily water supplies early and often. By mid morning, you are all ready for a much needed break. Finding an uneven rock ledge to sit behind, giving you a limited area of shade to rest in, the elves notice something in the air coming from over the swampy area they just left. Black specks in the sky seem to be heading in their direction, getting larger as they fly nearer.

Keg

Never outwardly complains as they continue on their trek over the craggy black rocks. He does grumble under his breath though on par with any grumpy dwarf, leaving one to wonder if his impressive beard growth might indeed be some throwback to a distant grandfather of the race. When was the last time he shaved? Had to have been that morning in Beachtown a couple of weeks ago... had it only been that long? Still, what was stubbles only days ago was a bonafide beard now, thick and coppery in color.

When someone raised an alarm about something flying in their direction, he squinted. I don't see anything... what do they look like? Bugs or something we could shoot with a bow.... please, don't be bugs big enough to shoot with a bow... I can't deal with that @!#$#$% right now! his sour mood reflected in his lack of excitement for battle as he got back to his feet, his hand hovering near his crossbow.

Darklin

Something this way comes. Not sure what they are but there are several of them. Dump your packs and get ready for combat.

He drops his pack and readies his long bow.

OOC- Are we still close to the Jungle edge or are we out on the barren rock face?

The Knife

The Knife spends the rest break behind his shelter of branches with his cloak thrown over it. When he hears the alert about the flying creatures heading their way, he decides to stay there in the hope that he goes unnoticed.

Elnaerel

"Oh no. They seem to be coming our way... They chose the best moment." She gets her sling and any stone that might be lying around and will wait until they're closer to fire at them, depending on what their attitude towards them looks like.

I thought there was still jungle on our left side?

(Here is when Ogre quotes with a sigh the fragment of his own text where he says there's no more jungle that I didn't read)

Do any of you guys read what I write in my updates?

You are "a few hours" away from the tree line, well out onto the black rocky wasteland.

Gnodric

Grabs his bow and looks hard at one of the growing dots trying to use every bit of his long vision to get a fix on what is heading their way. All the while getting out his bow and getting ready to fire.

Some of us do.

Feanol

With her cousin she also studies one of the dots trying to discern any details as soon as she can.

Keyon

Keyon's eyes narrow and he slips into a crouch, attempting to flatten himself into the shadow of the ledge and become less of a target. He grips a dagger in each hand and holds them close to his body.

Freeday, 26th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Sunny, Humid, Breezy

TK and Keyon position themselves in a way that hides them from the oncoming specks in the distant sky.

Keg grumbles, hoping it isn't large insects coming to carry them off. The grizzled human squints into the sky, but can make out only black specks from this distance.

The elves who watch the oncoming threat closely begin to see the shapes forming a little clearer, but they are still a good distance away at this point.

.................Kobolds riding giant wasp? That is one of the coolest things I have ever seen! But now I am worried!!!

Keg looks around for any chance at cover as he gets his crossbow ready. Well, I wan't planning on Valhalla today but at least I can be there in time for dinner...
