Chapter 2: Back to the Barrows!

The group laboriously goes through the various urns, looking for treasure. The process is long, slow, and boring.

Unfortunately, you don't seem to have found a lot of treasure in this particular tomb. You find a total of 150 silver pieces, and a silver buckle engraved with a picture of a charging unicorn.

Well, at least nothing found us either.

Where to next? Down the nearby south passage, or back to the "angry spirit" room and through the north doorway there?

You head out the door, and go back to the room with the angry spirit, and make for the door. Somewhere echoing through the corridors, you hear sounds of swords clanking together in combat, but it is difficult to tell where the sound originates.

When you enter the room with the "angry spirit", the shrieking starts again, and a ghostly voice moans "ggggggeeeettttttt oooouuuuuuuutttt!". An urn flies out of one of the niches, and strikes Moony, shattering in a puff of smoke!

Overwhelmed by the spirit, Moony takes off running back toward where you came from...

Note: Moony is under a fear effect, and will run in a random direction until it wears off. He is holding one of the torches...

Nimh will try and keep up with Moony and prevent him from hurting himself.

Note: Nimh may be faster than Moony, move 26 (base 35).

"Come on everyone, let's try to keep up with Moony. We don't want to get separated down here."

Lhainor follows Moony to the best of his ability (I assume Lhainor is a bit slow), keeping an eye out for whomever is engaged in combat nearby.

You are all able to follow Moony as he runs east up the corridor. He takes a left into a side corridor, runs to the end, then yanks open a door. Here, he runs into a large room. He jumps over some corpses strewn around the door, and you must cover your mouths to ward off the stench of death in the room. He turns left, and runs to a broken door.

He bangs aside the broken door, and heads into a small crypt, littered with old bones. He retreats into a small sub-crypt in the back, which is a dead end. Panting, he slowly regains his composure...

So, we're back over by the Green Man crypt (where I got the "shillelagh"). OK, once Moony recovers, do we want to go back to the angry spirit room and try to get through the north door again, or go back to the passage from the south door in the hall leading to the angry spirit room, or go back to the angry spirit passage but go east towards the bricked up door? Or something else (maybe through the north door in the corpse room nearby)?

That probably would be through the secret door in the north part of this small crypt to here:

Through the west door, you see a short corridor. The north wall of the corridor goes 20 feet west. The south wall goes 10 feet west before turning diagonally north to meet the north wall. This diagonal section has a door, going southwest, in it.

And from there through the diagonal SW door.

Or, in a completely different direction, back through the broken door into the stench room and through the north door. I am fine with either.

OK, through the North secret door, and West to the SW diagonal door (the closest option) it is.

Retracing your steps, you open the secret door in the back of the crypt, into the little 10x10 room. From here, you open the secret door to the north, and enter the little T intersection. Turning left into the east corridor, you find the secret door there, and go through into the short corridor with the southwest door.

As you are about to open the southwest door, Fingolwyn notices something he hadn't noticed before... this little corridor has yet another secret door in it, heading to the north.

Go ahead with the southwest door, or investigate this new secret door?
