I'll expedite forward through the obvious actions...
The group approaches cautiously, crossbows and bows at the ready. The exhale in relief as they find that the adult flies appear to be slain. The mine shaft descends inward about 200 yards before it is blocked by a collapse. It appears to have been a fly-nest for many years, with the dessicated husks and bones of innumerable animals, kobolds, and goblins being most predominant. They do find three-dozen larvae, which are each about 18 inches long as 12 inches diameter, wiggling and white with a sticky mucous covering and a large toothed maw on one end.
You can kill them, try to transport them alive, or leave them in the detritus. If slain, they could be roasted for 20 man-days of pretty gross rations.
The group clears a portion safely inside the mouth of the cave and establishes a camp. Neegan takes charge of transporting Ablesforth in with a makeshift stretcher, careful to move him as little as possible given the fragileness of his present condition. He is made warm and set to rest by the fire. The entrance to the cave is fortified as best as possible, making a suitably safe place for rest.

The flies did nothing to triage or care for valuables. The group spends some time picking through the rotting or dessicated corpses, piles of sticky fly moltings, and other things to revoltingly unidentifiable to name. They find about four small sacks worth of coins on the various humanoids (363 CP, 88 SP, 338 GP), one medium-sized emerald, two ruddy opaque potions, and three scrolls protected in an ancient, dry-rotted leather case.
Having completed this work and rested themselves with some well-deserved sleep overnight once more, they awake in the morning to face their new choices.
With overnight rest, Ablesforth can be transported. It is likely several days until he awakens via natural healing.
