What is the target area of the dispel magic?

Also, I'll roll for success or failure. I know the level of any magic in the area of effect of the spell.

Gragog in the dark not that his half-orc infravision will help against undead still attempts to attack where the undead creature was that he was just fighting.

Spear +1 Thac0(14) [1d20+2] = 10+2 = 12 To Hit [1d6+3] = 2+3 = 5 S/M Dmg [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6 L Dmg

Shinyah, Druid

With the sudden loss of vision, the druid will point his spear in the general direction of the monstrosities in an effort to fend them off. He will not attack for few of hitting a teammate. The bear, however, is not deterred by the darkness. He is able to smell those foul creatures that caused him pain, and he is still angry.

Agax Gryyg, game mage:

"Perhaps I can help shed some light on this."
From one of the many pouches and pockets of his voluminous robes, the dreaming wizard of Urth produces a small gem that glows continually with light. He places it within a small lantern box that affixes to the top of his wooden staff.

If, and only if, Agax knows that Bragar's spell will negatively affect the party then, and only then, will he interrupt the casting by touching one of Bragar's hands.

Bragar will not cast dispel magic as Melampus is on the other side of his colleagues. Slay him before he casts another spell.

Once the Lar can see again he tries to assess the situation. Once he hears Bragar ask someone to get Melampus he tries to get to them and attack. IF there are monsters in the way that aren't fleeing he will attack one at a time and says, "Attack my target friends."

To Hit AC0 (15) Bastard Sword +1, [1d20+1] = 2+1 = 3, Dmg vs sm [2d4+1] = 4+1 = 5 Dmg vs L [2d8+1] = 3+1 = 4

Because I apparently can't.

Bragar- Will attack Melampus or the nearest creature when the light comes back into the room.

It is very dark.

Agax and Castran reach for small items they enchanted with light spells. While they reach into their pockets or folds of their robes, you hear the shuffling of feet—some away from you; some toward you. You also hear Shinyah's bear sniff and whimper.

After a few seconds, Castran's coin lies on the floor and Agax's gem rests in its niche on top of his staff. Neither emits light, but Lar's lantern once again illuminates most of the hall.

The flickering lamp light reveals a less dire scene than the last one you saw: only two of the undead creatures remain. The others have either been slain or fled. They attack Gragog at the same moment that he, Shinyah, Petyr, Bragar, and Lar counter. Gragog and Petyr, each with a magic spear, skewer one (w13). Bragar, moving up to Petyr's side, supplies the finishing blow with his powerful mace. The monster staggers and coughs up greenish-brown bile, but even as it expires it claws Gragog in the face. The claw is cold as death itself and seems to draw some of Gragog's life energy out with it (-4 HP, -1 level). Shinyah and Lar attack the other, but both attempts are clumsy and miss badly. The monster's swipe at Gragog barely misses.

Bragar looks for the source of Melampus's voice. If his old friend is anywhere near, he must be outside the range of Lar's lantern, which illuminates only 30' of the hall to the east.

One injured monster remains. Actions?
Please check my math. W13 hit AC -1. Gragog is AC 1. Lar's protection aura adds 2 AC points, for AC -1. Scarlett's PfE only protects herself and doesn't stack with Lar's aura. Are there any other effects in play that would save Gragog's bacon?

If not, he just lost one level. Please adjust his XP to 52,500 and his max HP to 42. His THAC0 and saving throws are also affected.

Note that the various light & darkness spells cancel each other out when they overlap, leaving only ambient and natural light sources. Lar's lantern is therefore the only light in effect at the moment.

Scarlett

Scarlett reaches her hand as high as she can, as if throwing something to the ceiling. She casts a 'Light' spell above her head, hoping to counter the darkness cast by Melampus.

While everyone else tries to figure that out I'll just roll an attack because modifying macros and everything for a level loss is a real pain.
Gragog fights or tries to fight the remaining injured creature Spear +1 Thac0(14) [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6 To Hit [1d6+3] = 6+3 = 9 S/M Dmg [1d8+3] = 8+3 = 11 L Dmg

if melampus cast continual darkness then they would cancel each other out. If he cast darkness continual light would counter it and remain in effect as it's more powerful. Isn't that right? The second level darkness 15' radius spell description suggests so.

Castran will move invisibly across the chamber to where he thinks Melampus was casting his magic and investigate.

Agax Gryyg, game mage:

Shocked and saddened at the loss suffered by his friend, Agax attempts to turn any and all undead that can see him illuminated by Lar's lantern. "Begone, you doomed puppets!"

What undead, exactly, is Agax trying to turn? Keep in mind that he already turned the wights once, so he can't do that again.

Lar will attempt to attack the last creature praising Ohama for his wisdom and truth.

Agax Gryyg, game mage:

Realizing that the lone wight wasn't part of a second wave of undead, the dreaming wizard slides Castran's glowing coin down the hall in the direction of the chanting that preceded the magical darkness.
This should leave Agax's light gem to cancel the darkness spell, and Lar's lantern to light our end of the hall. I hope. :)

Lar, Shinyah, Bragar, Gragog, and Petyr continue the fight against the lone remaining undead. Only Lar and Bragar succeed, scoring mighty hits against the foul thing. It continues attacking Gragog but misses badly.

Meanwhile, others concern themselves with the lighting situation and with Melapus's apparent return. Scarlett casts a light spell over her head. It seems to have no additional effect.

Agax kicks Castran's coin down the hall. The result is weird. Most of the hall to the east is now brightly lit, though the light is soft thanks to being diffused through the thick fog that covers the floor of this hall. The bright light stops at a circle centering on Lar; in this circle, only the dimmer light of Lar's lantern prevails.

Castran moves east, looking for Melampus. He sees nothing but thick fog in the hallway to the east. The wine cellar beyond the rusty iron bars also appears empty.

Scarlett will go to the western door of the hallway, using the darkness and mist to hide in the shadows. Melampus can only have gone two ways, east or west ( maybe invisible of course?), If he comes through the western door (seen or unseen but not unheard, especially if he is chanting a spell), Scarlett will attack.

To hit = 12, dam = 1. (Using her remaining cudgel, her intent is to disrupt his spell casting, knock him unconscious and break any charm or vampiric hold over him.)

If he is not there she will be listening for movement from the room beyond and any footsteps shuffling down the stairwell from where the zombies' came.

Gragog "I can see why the original expedition into this place had a hard time the odds are nearly impossible with creatures that weaken and can make you loose some of your skills as I have now." clearly shaken by his recent experience. The fighter attempts to attack the remaining undead obviously unable to do anything he should be capable of.

Spear +1 Thac0(14) [1d20+2] = 3+2 = 5 To Hit [1d6+3] = 6+3 = 9 S/M Dmg [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5 L Dmg
