Okay, I will be updating in the morning. Those people I don't hear from by then will be considered Lost in the Dark for this combat.

The adventurers begin to advance, and suddenly the line of orcs surges forwards at a run. The shrew-like creature quickly outpaces the slower orcs, as it speed forward in a blur of brownish fur. The archers and crossbowmen, having seen what giant shrews are capable of, direct their fire upon it; several arrows hit, but the savage soricidae barrels foward. Rhys fires his great bow at the leader, but misses, as does Thurgan. Aquar implores his Immortal patron to aid them in their hour of need, and his prayers are heard as both the large orc with the whip and the capering shaman are rendered as immobile as statues. Anohir fires a sling stone at the rapidly approaching shrew and hits it square in the nose!
The giant shrew has closed the distance rather quickly and is now only 20' away. There are ten uninjured orcs approximately 60' away. The two giant orcs lumber behind, and have only halved the distance (being approximately 90' away). Both the orcs and shrew will be able to close to melee in Round Two; the big orcs will only be able to melee in Round Three.

Rhys the Traveler

Using his natural swiftness, Rhys rushes to the nearest outer most side of the approaching orcs/shrew, hoping to flank them for his first attack. He avoids the shrew, hoping the archers can strike it down with another volley of arrows and bolts, and will avoid large groups of orcs, as well, trying not to get caught up in any friendly sleep spells.

If the opportunity presents itself, he will target one of the larger misshapen orcs.

Round Two

Mursley and Severi cast their separate incantations, and the onrushing horde of orcish warriors collapse to the ground. The shrew bounds forward and propels itself through the air at Severi, but the wily elf ducks out of the way. The shrew tumbles through the air and lands before the men-at-arms, who fall upon it with flashing blades.

The massive, mutated orcs continue to lumber forward, with murder and malice in their eyes. Anohir lets loose a sling stone that hits the lead juggernaut above the eye. It does not appear to phase the creature. They advance through a cloud of arrows; the one Anohir hits takes a crossbowbolt in the leg.

Severi, Elf

Severi draws his sword and takes up his shield. "These bulky behemoths seem to show no fear. Well, we'll soon teach them to fear." As soon as the men at arms are finished with the shrew, he gets them once more in good order to meet the oncoming orcs.

Rounds Three and Four

The adventurers rush forward to confront the oversize orcs. The bowmen are unable to get off a shot, so set about killing the unconscious smaller orcs. Up close, the juggernauts are glabrous grotesqueries; all swollen and misshapen and twisted. Rhys slips in behind one and drives his blade deep into the creature's side. Black bile spews forth, but the creature merely bellows before swinging the toy-like blade it holds at one of the men-at-arms surrounding it. The mercenaries surround the two, thrusting and hacking, but none of them are able to land a telling blow. The rest of the companions have a better time of it. Aquar pounds one of the orcs; Severi and Thurgan also find that there magical blade slip easily into the monsters' hides. Mursley casts his somnelent sorcery, but the monstrous orcs shrug off the enchantment.

The men-at-arms continue to press the attack. One gets lucky and drives his blade deep into his opponent's chest. The orc collapses, and the mercenaries crow a savage ululation. Severi and Thurgan find they are unable to penetrate the defenses of the remaining monster. Rhys slips behind and ends its life with a swift swordstroke.

In the deafening silence that follows the companions survey the blood-soaked killing field. All is still.
Man, they had some shitty rolls.

Severi Silvertongue, Elf

Severi commands the men at arms into order. All downed enemies are to have their throats cut, and then to be relieved of loot and ears.

"After this battle, I suggest we withdraw from the field. If the watchtower is not empty, they must surely now know our strength."
