Maag nods along as he listens. "Sounds useful. Assumin' dat we can get back 'ere in der future, it will save us from draggin' our arses back to Clifftown every time we need to rest. An' I could definitely do wiv a drink."

He looks around. "So, are we leavin'? Lookin' for Luther, der weirdo wiv der monkey an' der rest of dem? Or goin' back to look for Darklin an' der Lads now we 'ave got some backup?"

Yrias

"Resting wouldn't do us any bad to be honest. Some of us have been severely wounded by the strange effect in that cave that brought us here. We tried to get out of here and when we found a cave after leaving the mountain where we're now, we got teleported back here after failing a riddle for three times. Not without getting hurt through some weird magic.

Andron, there was or, rather, is this weird... Demi-god? Inhabiting the cold basement. He looked very powerful so we didn't deem challenge him. He charms people in just a second with the power of his mind and demanded that ome of ua remained by him as his servant. Our lives and freedom were our reward.

Wake tried to sacrifice himself for Darklin's freedom, but the elven mage didn't react.

It was a cowardly decision, I know, but it allowed us all to leave the place and remain alive."

Alordan remembers with dread, "Cold basement? That wouldn't be the one we have been in before would it?"

Wake

"Yes, we activated the next station. I assume this darkness is the result of my good friend, the man with the golden skin expanding his domain."

The Princess

"I am curious why it's dark now, and what happened to the giant. We could at the least, go downstairs and scout."

Andronichishche

"His gaze shifts between speakers as he parses the statements. No, Mr. Alordan, it doesn't sound quite the same basement. A demi-god with golden skin?" He warily eyes Wake as the man expresses congeniality towards the being that apparently charmed and enslaved Darklin. "From your recount, Mr. Yrias, it would seem you had little choice. If this being is the source of the cold and darkness, it likens to the undead wraiths under the temple and the spectre under the lighthouse. Placed intentionally by Wendall or a result of the positive, negative energy imbalance?" He shrugs in answer to the question. "I am inclined to agree with Her Highness, but as Yrias suggests, resting to recover our strength would be wise before any confrontation."

Wake

"I think we are in his domain at the moment. Sacrifice myself for Darklin, well that is what I was thinking of course, but it is so adversarial a point of view. I am sure he will welcome us back into his realm of darkness. Personally I would prefer the light but we have to think of his needs as well." Wake rambles.

Lerrick

The cleric removes her glow stone from a pouch and raises it up with her left hand in order to provide more light for the now much larger group.

Cresty

The fighter blinks his eyes several times to adjust to the dimly lit area.

The Princess

She glances at Wake and then at Andron with a slight eye roll. "I know, Wake. His Highness really took a liking to you. How long ago did we leave his presence? Do you remember?"

"Does anyone happen to know a counterspell? No reason."

The Princess nods in agreement with resting."That would help me personally, but time may not be on our side. I suggest that those seriously wounded hang back while we investigate downstairs and determine if the darkness is connected."

"Maag? Andron? Wake? Does that sound good to you guys?"

Lerrick

The cleric moves to the one called Princess. I don't mean to intrude on your conversation but it looks to me that you are the one the one who in most need of healing. Let me help you. . Without waiting for an answer the cleric attempts to heal Princess's wounds. She frowns at her efforts. I'm afraid I cannot provide more healing to you at this time.

Cast CCW on Princess 1d8: [1d8]=2

Cresty

Not known to be one who would back down from any type of challenge regardless of the consequences, the fighter boldly steps forward. You can count on my sword.

"I believe Lerrick is capable of dispelling magic. I will also assist in the investigation. We told Mr. Marlaman to not expect anything arriving from this side, but with the giant gone now and this darkness ... that was rather false."

"What we told Marlaman was based on what we knew then. Things change and I did warn him that noting was guaranteed."

She cannot cast Dispel Magic but she could attempt a Charm Person of her own.

Maag

"Yeah, I 'ave not got a problem wiv goin' back down dere," says Maag. "I 'ave always found dat when you are deliverin' a good kickin', a policy of der more, der merrier, is always a good idea."

He laughs at Cresty's declaration. "Countin' on yer sword Cresty? Tell yer wot - if yer can manage not to cut yer fingers off, I'll teach yer to count to ten when we get back up 'ere". Maag claps Cresty on the shoulder. "Come on den mate, after you".

The Princess

She nods in appreciation of the healing. "Thank you. It's more than I could do, so always be proud of that."

The Princess smiles and starts moving towards the door to the basement. "No time like the present. The quieter folk can scout ahead and scream if something bad happens. Who's with me?"

"Maybe you hang back as the first attack wave." She looks at Sir Crestbrook with a wink.

Cresty

The fighter thinks to himself Maags wants me to lead the way and the one called Princess wants me to stay back. After a moment Cresty steps aside. As you wish young Princess. Maag, looks like you have you have the lead, something that we alll know you love to do. He chuckles at his own joke then turns to take a position to guard the door as the rest file through. Once everyone is in he follows as a rear guard.

Lerrick

The cleric takes a spot in the middle of the group as they head in.

Is anyone staying back?

Wake

Not being afraid of his friend will be near the front holding his torch with the light spell.

Torbath

Will stay near the back and whisper to Andron "That Cleric is charmed by the gold-god they speak of, I recognize the effects."
