As the party gangs up on the two undead, Tuurma tries to find an angle of attack which is not occupied by one of her friends, but her balance is way off

Hand axe attack: [1d20+1]=2+1=3 dmg [1d6+1]=2+1=3

Cormag takes two swings at the nearest of the creatures, feeling much more steady, reminding himself that he just cut through many of them hours ago.

Broad sword hit [1d20+2]=14+2=16 damage [1d8+3]=7+3=10
Broad sword hit [1d20+2]=10+2=12 damage [1d8+3]=7+3=10
Not sure when enlarge would kick in, so didn't do the 150% damage bump.

The Lost Mausoleum
Finishing The Job, Next Morning


As the fighters prepare for battle, Belloc begins uttering a series of magical phrases from behind Cormag, assuring the man that he and his martial power will grow, if he only allows it.

Kain reminds the others that these undead creatures move slowly, though he misses with his attack and watches the same ineffective result from Taibhse and Tuurma.

Fortunately, Ceana and Cormag have better luck, slashing the thing back into its coffin with enough damage to put the monster down again permanently.

As Cormag grows another half size larger, now towering over his friends, the second monster climbs out of its coffin to attack the group from behind. When they turn to engage this new threat, the lids of 3 more burial vaults begin to slide to the side, revealing more of the groaning living dead. None of these monsters appear as fresh as the one you just destroyed, but all of them have that same familiar look, and cold, empty eyes filled with hunger for flesh.

Cormag moves to the next nearest creature rising from a coffin and tries mightily to put it down before it can do any harm.

tries to find a high vantage point to use his sling and moves to climb of the coffins that have just been cleared on the south wall
he swings the sling around his head, gathering speed and throws the bullet through the air trying to strike the newly rizen the walking corpse along the southern wall



OOC: given that we rested the night did we recover any spells? i thought i noted that Belloc was studying in the morning

Yes, you should be at full spells.

You just used one today, so he should have 2/3 remaining.

(I saw that there was already one missing, but I couldn't remember if that was used earlier, or I just forgot to update the list.)

The Cleric tries to bash the nearby standing zombie from last round. [1d20]=11 Gah :cry: But at least it's an improvement.

Kain is forced to rethink his method of attack. :D

Tuurma roars and swings at the next in line of the seemingly endless number of undead in this place. Still unused to the balance of this new weapon, she misjudges her strength and speed and misses again.

The slow moving zombies start to gather around the group, causing their search to turn into a battle. Tuurma, Kain, and Taibhse all miss their target a second time, while the others fare a bit better against this amassing hoard.

Belloc hops up onto a closed coffin to get a better angle with his sling, plunking the closest creature. Ceana spins around to slash at the monster trying to bite her, but isn't able to do enough damage to stop it dead.

Huge Cormag leaps across the room to smash one of the newcomers into oblivion, destroying it instantly as another in the line starts to climb from its ransacked resting place.

The unaddressed zombie shambles across the room to bite at Tuurma from behind, taking another chunk of flesh from the armorless woman, causing her strength to begin to wane once again. 3 dam and -4 to Strength.

Cormag takes several giant strides over to the near uninjured zombie and slices into it. The one between the "4" and Tuurma, eyes already turning to the one to west.

Tuurma raises her axe to strike the corpse in the coffin, but as the claw rakes her flesh, her energy is drained and the momentum lost, making her stumble backwards.

Kain hesitates when he hears Tuurma call for a sword and then gets hit. The zombie in his face forces his attention back to the immediate and he helps Ceana try to take it down.

Apparently, he fights better while distracted.

Tuurma, Taibhse, and Belloc have trouble dealing any more damage with their attacks, but the others fare much better.

Kain and Ceana drop the foe on them, while the enlarged Cormag chops another threat in half with his sword.

The monster attacking from its coffin scratches Taibshe with one filthy claw, 2 dam but the one behind Tuurma stumbles as it attacks, missing the unarmored and vulnerable woman completely.

The one appearing most recently moves across the room to attack, while the lids of the final five sealed coffins begin to slide aside, revealing at least 5 more of these slow moving strength sappers.
